I hope the people that were at the robin2 that day realize that they witnessed a iconic performance we´ll probably not see the like again. This is epic. 😮
Hey Jim! Remember wearing my baseball cap for several songs while playing live in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1974? Lol… I doubt you do but I will never forget it. Love you and SLADE , By the way, you tossed it perfectly right back to me in the first row. Priceless.
Jimmy Lea is the most underrated guitarist of all time. Remember seeing Slade live and feeling the shock waves from Jimmy's bass making my whole body shake. Thanks for the memories Jim.
A master at his craft. Making that guitar work for him and 'what a sound'. With such talent and of course a great songwriter, it's a pity we didn't see more of him, doing live gigs. But then again, he'd probably had enough of life on the road after many hundreds of gigs over the years with Slade. What a great catalogue of work Slade have given us over the years too. Thanks guys.
Wow, never seen this before. Go Jimmy. Brilliant. Loved Slade and I agree, he could of had a great career afterwards but he chose not to. I think he would be happy in the knowledge that he had what it takes, but was content to leave it at that. Respect to you Jim Lea.
Hey Jim, I can remember waiting for squeeze me pleaze me to arrive in my local store. I was a devout slade fan. in later years I saw you at hammersmith Odean live. It was a brilliant gig and near to Christmas. Slade played Merry Christmas and made the night a great memory for me. Somebody said how come you ended up on bass being as you could play 6 string guitar as good as Dave Hill. My humble opinion is the great bass lines you created would not be included in Slade's music if you were not the bassist. So good to see you so chilled and happy playing small crowds playing whatever you want. Big love to you Jim.
Didn't realise Jim was sound handy on the Guitar , saw Slade twice , first time was Reading 1980 awesome gig showed so called heavy metal bands what rock n roll is , and even better St Austell Collisium 1981 supporting Ozzy Osbourne , very heavy and very loud .
If Jim Lea played guitar like this in 1970 or so (when he mentions talking things over with Chas Chandler) it's no wonder he was so creative on the bass. He just translated it over to the EB3... Wow, great clip.
Who would think that this was the bass player with Se brilliantlade(whom I absolutely loved as a kid)Noddy Holder,Dave Hill and JIM LEA!It would have been brilliant to see them jam together on stage.Wow!👌
wow!!! He is a slayer on any instrument and that includes the guitar. Dave hill must had a a tough position as he was a less guitarist than the bass player in the band.
@@gerardreiters488 Well yes, but there's no need to go on an all-out attack on the ridiculous fucker. He's been through enough in life and music is what he does.
Dave Hill was average at best whilst Jim Lea could and did outclass him all the time.lets be honest him and Noddy made Slade no doubt about that with a little help From DON and DAVE but they all contributed just as in many groups some more than others folks
I hope the people that were at the robin2 that day realize that they witnessed a iconic performance we´ll probably not see the like again. This is epic. 😮
Love this song. I had no idea Jim played guitar or that he was such a savage with it. Yeah!! Love the drumming!

Jimmy is such a humble guy, you would never think he was once a bassist, pianist, violinist, in a 70's super group.
This is fabulous !!
Loved you as a teenager, now older and wiser can appreciate your musicianship, love this.
Wow Jim! We missed out.
Seen Slade in my youth, but jimmmy Lea has it all what a musician 🎸👍
Completely blown away, the hairs on the back of me neck are up. Fantastic!

Great Legend!,"Goooooöd!
Bassist, lead guitar, violin & piano. This guy has got more talent in his little finger than todays wannabees !
Proper music, none of this prancing around waving your arms in the air.
Why compare ?

Great guitar player.... and love the drummers work!!!...
Brilliant well done JIM
Jim always delivers. What a talented guy
'Eck Jimmy Lea never realised how talented this bloke was/is. Incredible playing. To think he was the main songsmith too, with Noddy's lyrics.
Wow, never seen this before. Go Jimmy. Brilliant. Loved Slade and I agree, he could of had a great career afterwards but he chose not to.

Wish I'd been there. A brilliant musician and songwriting genius.
Man I wish Slade would've gotten together once more. One of the most underrated bands ever.

Thanks Jimmy, great to see you.
That’s just incredible from Jim! Wow! Also I don’t know who drummer is but that’s a powerhouse performance.
Драйвовый чувак. И с техникой все в порядке.
j'ai vu slade à Bruxelles en 1975 , après la sortie de "slade alive " a great moment and and a great souvenir for me .
J'y étais aussi.....
@@gerardreiters488 Moi aussi... Those were the days. :) 46 années ont passé déjà, on est devenue vieux mes amis...
Holy shit !
bloody genius
Slade, Jimmy's musical talent and Noddy's incredible voice. What a great duo?! Two other blokes? Were there?
Amazing player, fair play, glad I stumbled upon this great version 👍
jim should have been the frontman of a supergroup for years..wheres he been? just wow
Cool guitar player .I thought he played only bass but he had more in his fingers after watching this.
Violin, piano, guitar, bass of course, and probably more.
Brilliant. 👍🤘👌
Прекрасный Джим Ли! Отличная группа! Спасибо!
Loved him as teenager, loved hendrix also omg x
Wow... Fantastic....
Absolutely fucking brilliant Jim
SLADE. Mano mėgiamiausia grupė nuo 1978 metų. To daugiau niekada nebus. Gerai kad liko įrašai. Turiu visas jų dainas, išskyrus vieną. (Lithuania)
Hey Jim 🎤🎸❤️😘
Great Jim
The best guitar player in Slade.
Jim could have been one of the biggest names after Slade. It's such a shame he never took it any further. He plays lead with great fluency and ease.
I have always rated Jim as a unique bass player but I am now so impressed with how he plays guitar !
Yeah, I was going "Wow, just wow"
Unfortunately his health problems didn't allow him to do so... cancer and hepatitis are horrible ennemies...
Wonderful
Never knew.legend!!

Super talented guy, very humble and lived a balanced life, not like today's Wannabees that have 2 minutes of fame.
just brill jim.
Зачем так время беспощадно ? Такой красавчик был!!!
God bless Jim !
Has the entire guitar track been replaced in the studio? The playing doesn’t seem to match the video at all.
Amazing, drummer too love the off beats
You think the public didn't notice you when you played bass? well I did for one.
Wow whos the drummer?
Jim Lea.great guitarist and better than Ve Hill..why wasn't Jim lead guitarist with Slade?
Jim & Noddy - Slade 👍
Awsom guitarist
wow!!!
He is a slayer on any instrument and that includes the guitar. Dave hill must had a a tough position as he was a less guitarist than the bass player in the band.
Jim Lea played the guitar solo on 'Everyday' and I suspect quite a few others over the years.
@@NannyWhip hold on Dave Hills guitar playing was the bollocks for Slade. It’s all about the vibe.
Damn! Dave Hill should have played bass in Slade!
Dave have destroyed Slade's remains.. shame on this ridiculous dwarf...

7:01 ... "I wanted to be able to walk the streets" ...
Классссссс
Jeez luigi... I had no Idea..
As we say in the black country BUSTIN....yes on lead guitar they would have cracked usa.🤔
Lea and Hendrix could've been "The Two Jimmy's".
Благодаря джиму я стал хорошим БАСИСТОМ!
En slade debió ser el guitarra principal
При всём уважении,голос отсутствует напрочь! Только Нодди,и никак иначе
Круто конечно , только Холдера ,блядь , не хватает...
Destroys Dave Hill
He was a way better guitarist than Dave, they should have switched instruments!
A far better guitarist than Dave Hill!
Dave Hill was average at best whilst Jim Lea could and did outclass him all the time.lets be honest him and Noddy made Slade no doubt about that with a little help From DON and DAVE but they all contributed just as in many groups some more than others folks
Человек-оркестр 🙂
