Thank you for sharing your experience! I remember when I was learning a ribbon embroidery I bought a beautiful pink roses bouquet kit and instructions started with "don't be afraid to start ribbon embroidering stitches, there is no mistakes only variations". Now I want to learn sewing. There is no kit with everything included for a sewing, so I have to supply my own sewing room:-) To start, I'd like to hear your advice -If all I want is to make cami and slip dresses for myself from crepe de chine and silk satin which sewing machine will do? Thank you and have a wonderful day 🥰! Di
Hi Di! It sounds like you're on an exciting journey into sewing! For your cami and slip dresses, I recommend looking for a sewing machine that has a good range of stitch options. Brands like Brother or Janome have some great models for beginners! Unless you truly niche down to Leather handbags of stuff like that, the machine is really not that important since there is not just a specific commercial machine for a specific fabric, but has to do with the stitches, thread, needle and tension you are using and those things will determine the success of your project. When you decide on a machine, before you even set it up, get to know it... generally the instruction manual has everything you need to know for your machine. Recommendations for use with different types of fabric and the machine settings. When you purchase your fabric, please grab a range of different sizes of needles. Thin work best with this fabrics, otherwise will leave big wholes. Always practice on scraps how to control your fabric, the speed, the stitches and so on and you will easily find the best way to get amazing results. I wish you good luck and enjoy every part of this amazing journey! 😘
In a world where trends come and go, sewing lets you design your own timeless, personal collection-one that’s always within your budget.
Thank you
