India is a nation with the highest diversity. In Goa, people do not typically greet each other with "namaste." Instead, we often use a casual "hello" or the local phrase "kaysh hain" (how are you?).
Hey Josh, please remember that when you visit India means you are basically visiting 32 different countries in a country. Goa is one of western country in India with its European lining in its mixed type of state. Rest is for you to discover. Have fun.
Well if you go to places like Sikkim and Meghalaya you will be further shocked. Sikkim has the best civic sense in India along with some of the most beautiful landscapes with no pollution. Meghalaya has gorges, crystal blue lakes (check/google umiam lake, dawki), caves, rainiest place on planet earth (mawsyram), cleanest village in asia (mawlyngong), living root bridge (will remind you of bridge of terrabithia or something out of a fantasy movie), foggy landscapes, only state that has matrilineal culture, sacred groves, etc. When it comes to food it will blow your mind and your idea about indian food will change. Style of cooking is very different more closer to south-east asia rather than south-asia, ingredients are different, more non vegetarians. Pork is actually one of the most consumed meat in the whole of north-east region. Different languages, tribes , cultures, music festivals. If you travel to tawang in arunachal you will find snowy landscape. Also at a very high altitude. Places are clean. Also you won't find scammers as such

Hi Josh, I am Indian but was born and brought up in North London. My Family are originally from North Goa. The beaches in north Goa have been spoilt and are for the two week get absolutely pissed and rave tourists. You are much better off in the South of Goa. Although visiting the Capital of Goa, Panjim, right on the River Mandovi is definitely worth a day out. Goa used to be a Portuguese colony , so the elderly speak Portuguese and we also have our own language called Konkani, like every state in India has their own language. But most Goan people also understand English and Hindi, but not all. Visit Margao, the biggest town in South Goa and you will see how Goan people live and work. Visit the market there. I don’t think people are purposely being rude to you, they probably don’t understand Hindi. Goan people have Christian names and Portuguese Surnames like Bruno Fernandes and are of the Catholic faith. Enjoy Goa and stay safe. You will also enjoy Kerala and the boats, absolutely brilliant and they too have their own Indian language. Anything else I can help you with let me know. Enjoyed your video. Ian.😊

Hey Josh, I am Goan, and I live in Panjim. Nice video... Most people in Goa speak English, which works better most of the time. You were getting strange looks because of the Hindi... The local language (Konkani) or English is fine. I realised every time you spoke in Hindi, the locals were switching to English, and you kept going back to Hindi, and many answered back in English. There is a lot happening in North Goa for sure... partying is a choice. There are some nice quiet places as well. South Goa has the best beaches and local food. I did not see you try the Goan delicacies. You should try pork and beef items, Goa pork sausages, chicken cafreal, vindaloo and so much more. Panjim is nice... but a lot of roads are being dug up at the moment...
Hey ☺️ thanks for the information! I’ve been told many times now but didn’t know when filming this video. My people in goa are very friendly the spoken languages are konkani English n Portuguese ...so next time learn some greetings in konkani or greet us in English. Not everywhere in India u go n speak Hindi n then u complain people are not friendly.
I wasn’t complaining, I was making an observation. Doesn’t really matter what language I’m speaking in, if someone clearly is just saying hello and is smiling, clearly not a local so might not understand.. then it’s rude to ignore them.. in any country.. I also never said it was every person in Goa
As an Indian, I feel compelled to warn fellow travelers about Goa. Over the years, it has become a city deeply rooted in scams, making it far from the paradise it once was. From the notorious taxi mafia charging exorbitant fares to booking scams in accommodations and water sports, tourists are constantly at risk of being cheated. Worse still, there are numerous reports of serious crimes, including harassment, assault, and even cases of rape or murder involving unsuspecting tourists. The lack of accountability and safety makes it a destination where caution should be your top priority. For a safer, cleaner, and more welcoming experience, I recommend exploring other destinations in India. Beaches in Kerala, Karnataka, or the Andaman Islands, along with mountain regions in the Northeast, offer unmatched beauty, hospitality, and peace of mind. Travel wisely and stay safe!

To go with the Indian sweets you need a tea with no sugar. The sweets are very very sweet. When you eat Lunch have a tali. Tell them not to hot ie chilly. Have also a yogurt drink. Milk cake, the diamond shape is Cashew nut fudge. Gulub Jumun, ie milk balls saturated in syrup. 420 rupees is a little steep for a roti and drink. You got taken. Look at the menu and the price. People are very dishonest so ask before you buy. Goa is known for its famous beaches, culture, climate, and historical places. You may find colourful architecture, lush greenery, and breathtaking beaches here. Goa is a perfect blend of Portugal and Indian culture. People get attracted to this place to experience world-class music, dance, and sunset. Goa is a state on the southwestern coast of India within the Konkan region, geographically separated from the Deccan highlands by the Western Ghats. It's like Hawaii but a thousands times cheaper. The Goans are very friendly people. But this is in Benaulim. It's refreshing to see you. Good job.
I recently subscribed to your channel and I'm loving watching your videos from India.
Welcome to the journey! Thanks so much for your kind words and support 🙏

Hi josh
I'm from South goa colva, in goa u better speak in English cuz most of the locals don't speak good hindi that's the reason they don't reply u n also for goan people it's pretty normal to see foreigners around compare to the other part of india they get very excited to see one
Yeah I figured that by the end of the day 😂 wasn’t expecting them to be excited but I was getting lots of mean stares haha. Thanks for the info
SORRY FOR THE CAPS I AM PARTIALLY SIGHTED
My people in goa are very friendly the spoken languages are konkani English n Portuguese ...so next time learn some greetings in konkani or greet us in English. Not everywhere in India u go n speak Hindi n then u complain people are not friendly.
I wasn’t complaining, I was making an observation. Doesn’t really matter what language I’m speaking in, if someone clearly is just saying hello and is smiling, clearly not a local so might not understand.. then it’s rude to ignore them.. in any country.. I also never said it was every person in Goa
Absolutely, we are Portuguese
