The 2008 was so scary because most of the time didn't had background music, villains were always silent, and no jumpscares, it was more realistic.
Dude I saw it for the first time maybe like a year later (I was about 14-15) in Mexico at like midnight and my mom and I had to walk in the pitch black to our house down and across the streets. A pick up truck honked and cat called us and I, being the American raised confident teen I was, immediately flipped them off and yelled something back but I can’t remember what. They hit the breaks so hard the tires squealed and we got so immediately terrified and HAULED ASS past our gate and into our house. 😭😭😭 I could not sleep for the next few night cause I was so convinced they were gonna come back and torture me like the strangers did in the movie 😂😂😂
And now the two missionaries boys became apart of the stranger?? This the prequel now looks good, just saw the strangers again than saw the strangers pray at night.. so the two missionaries boys join the clan??

The reason it was so quiet was because it set the tone of the complicated situation the couple were in when the girl turned down his marriage proposal… this one, the sound is put to good use.

Couldn’t leave well enough alone. The Strangers stands in my top 5 movies of all time. It’s spine-tingling nihilism. No reason, no justification. No backstory. No identities. “Because you were home.” I mean it’ll be entertaining but does anyone else feel that some things just don’t need sequels, prequels, etc. and that something can just stand on its own?
Trust me I felt the same way when they took my favorite horror movie "Pet Semetary" and butchered it beyond belief.
Only reason we're getting so many unnecessary sequels and reboots is due to Hollywood hiring talentless hacks who literally cannot come up with an original idea anymore.
But if the movie bombs, then "the audience is to blame." Literally how a child acts when things didn't go their way. Blame others instead of the one who's directing said bad film.

The 2018 movie was WAY better. This movie was a direct copycat of the original and had little to no redeeming qualities. 2018 had cool scenes like the pool and references to Scream and Texas chainsaw. And if I thought prey at night characters made bad decisions, well this movie cranks it up to 11!
When I saw those Mormon boys I was like pure nostalgia, the only beef I have with the trailer is that the music doesn't match up with the theme of the movie
Yeah, I definitely didn't get the same kind of vibe as the OG. The very first time I saw the OG trailer was at night on TV and I was so scared, I couldn't move from my spot on the couch for a bit- the atmosphere was so well executed. Sadly, I didn't get that from this trailer

I mean to produce one cheap and see if it’s profitable is a safe/cheap bet, but to film 3 movies back to back is a big financial and schedule commitment and show of faith no matter how small the budget. Aside from the phone calls and the costume Scream (the original) is loosely based off actual events from a murder spree in Gainesville, Florida.
It really was not scary. The couple had to be unbelievably stupid for there to even be a plot.

With me being a fan of The Strangers and it being one of my favorite Movies of all time i love the first 2 films and thought prey at night was good. This Movie seems amazing and i cant wait for it to go back to basics and show us who they are and why they do what they do. Cant Wait for the Trilogy man its gonna be awesome to see The Strangers strike one more time
The first one is iconic, I remember being about 19 or so when it came out and remember it actually being scary which in all honesty is hard to do with horror.
Ah, this brings back memories of being young and seeing this in theaters and then wanting to rent it to show it to everyone i know. The original strangers movie has always been my favorite. Its such an underrated gem. Yes, the original will never be touched and i agree with some saying that it was scarier when there was no origin story but i will still see this. I want to see a whole new generation fall in love with the strangers franchise. Its okay to let things change. I have high hopes I'll be good either way

He’s most likely not going to see this, but Froy was a good elementary-school friend of mine. In middle school we naturally drifted apart as he went on to attend a special performing-arts school (I actually found this out years later on Wikipedia lol, before that I just knew he no longer went to the same middle school as I did, was kinda worried about where he went 😂). He was a massively creative and imaginative kid and I remember a hell of a singer even back then. Through the years I read he got into some Disney shows and then today, here I am, scrolling through TH-cam and finding out that he will be starring as a lead in a major studio film. Kudos, Froy, you deserve it!
Well that's gotta be cool to at least know an actor to a certain degree even if you were just a school friend from elementary school. Froy was also in Cruel Summer Season 1 on Freeform , I loved that TV Series. It was really good and Froy did really well in that. Thanks for sharing your memory of him tho !

@@ceeset5472When I first watched the sequel I liked it (& I suppose there's still elements I enjoy about) but with subsequent rewatches I found myself having morw issues with it, as far as it being a good Strangers film I found it to be sub-par at best & it seems we're getting the same with this new film.
The people playing the strangers are throwing me off, like they way they move and talk they don't sounds right. The original will always have my heart.
Not really liking their new designs either, other than The Man In The Mask.
This was *THE BEST* horror movie I've seen in a long time, I was *SO SCARED!!*

Is it just me, or has anyone else become really confused? In previous movies, the line was "Is Tamara home?" and "Because you're home." Now, they've been changed to "Is Tamara here?" and "Because you're here."
Like, there might be an explanation for that!

seems like their in a air bnb, “because you’re home” was maybe because that was their actual home. but “because you’re here” in the trailer seems like their in a air bnb and not thats not their actual house. i could be wrong but good theory!!
"Is Tamara home?" randomly pops into my head all the time. It was a really simple, very creepily delivered line, that literally stands for the franchise (if you google it you'll see), and yet, here they take it away. Same with "because you were home." It's a better line, period. It's a scarier void. Choices like that are what immediately make me lose interest in seeing a new take, because it's like the filmmakers couldn't be bothered to see what made the other movie work and figured, "let's just do it half shot for shot, use a thesaurus to remix the few bits of iconic dialogue, and boom we're done!" No.
I always tell people “because you were home” is the most terrifying line in a movie ever and the reason is the reality that you people can be terrified and slaughtered for literally NO REASON
I recently saw this movie and really loved it. The suspense and the horror was really good. One lady in the cinema was so scared she screamed haha. I look forward to chapter 2😊
