I don’t think vanguard is the game they will go to unfortunately. Bushiroad falls for the same mistakes Konami made with yugioh in terms of prize support. Considering rn is one of the cheapest times to get into One Piece and Lorcana, I would expect majority to head there.
Thing is Lorcana is bad MTG and you can play better MTGs including MTG I do agree about One Piece thats provided your LGSes stock it of course cause not everyone has adopted it and digimon yet
@@michaelkehaI actually did not know that. I work at a shop and we have fully converted to one piece and digimon due to poor numbers for yugioh.
@@michaelkehaOh and to the Lorcana topic, I 100% agree. I believe what Carries Lorcana is the fact that it has a tie with Disney of course, and people both are able to recognize and enjoy the IP similar to Pokémon.
@@frogthejamygo6379 so within my country and several I am aware of basically the big 3 have massive chokeholds making it very very difficult for any game to gain a foothold at all hell I saw the first digimon products come in maybe 2 months ago keep in mind we have a large enough playerbase for card games to have national level events and send several players to various games worlds every year

The OT is the least of the problems VG currently has. More and more 'nation staples' are being printed, instead of cards requiring 'X' card as your VG to do their thing. Which sky rockets the prices as well the promo issue. Imagine little Timmy trying to build the same deck as the anime protagonist (Rezael).. realizing he needs 4 copies of $35 usd biscotti.. cause energy staple, you know? Those are the current issues with the game. OT broken? Haha, that's so Awakening of the Chakrabarthi's age
Price point can be an issue, yes, but fundamentally broken game mechanics stay broken despite other issues.

The Premium deck sets are literally coming out now.
No...Vanguard is not in a good state either. Promos are just as bad, the tournament structure is god-tier awful, and lets not forget that only Busi-sponsored gane stores can even get the product.shipped directly to them. Cant find it in regular stores nor a good chuck of game stores so you're at the whim of stores that do which is partly why prices are ridiculous at times.
And Bushiroad Japan thinks that if it works for Japan it works for everywhere else...which is far from true.
If Bushi doesnt do anything soon, more players will end up leaving.
Going to say this...TCG's are slowly dying as a whole. They are getting expensive.
We're most definitely NOT switching to Vanguard here in NC. The entirety of our community is comprised of 16 people who go to the same locals each weekend, any local larger tournament is most of those people, with one or two people from out of state. There used to be a larger community, but it just almost died around here. One Piece and Lorcana are taking off much faster around here, though Magic is still the vastly dominant game.

Yugioh MD only player: i would love to play vangard but i can't because that doesn't really have a MD and i have try zero and don't like it, so i have started playing Marvel snap instead.
But would love to try this game as i have been interested in it from a longtime.
Unfortunately 9 years ago we had a promotional video of a fully fledged online fight sim that was expected to be F2P called Vanguard Online and... they axed it, then released it 6 years later as a PC/Switch game where you need to pay over 200 euros for the full card pool which is still 3 months behind the physical game. vanguard was so damn close to having their own MD before MD even existed. huge wasted opportunity

Can bushiroad already Errata OT power to 100,000. It’s still a lot, but at least guardable, maybe ban the original absolute broken effects, and make less strong versions. I think that would be “okay” for keeping it around. Brandt Gate one absolutely needs to go.

I flipped from YGO to CFV after playing YGO for like 15 years and honestly I'm very happy with CFV and would not consider going back.

I'd be surprised if anyone considers cfv as their rebound game. Mostly due to seeing it dry up in a number of places.
Where I live my locals is one of two official tournament stores on this side of the state and on our regular event days we get maybe four or five people, weekend tournaments aren't much better.
Also we don't have the restrictions Japan does on Shiranui and Luard, so expect them because you just buy the deckset and a little extra and you're better than the majority of decks in the format. Put in more money generics and you're golden.
I'd love to get back into vanguard, but there's no locals near me that are at a decent time.

Flesh and blood is goated game everyone should give it a try way more affordable then vanguard and yugioh I've made 2 blitz decks for the same price as a deckset in vanguard.
A blitz precon is 12 dollars and pretty much all you need for that format if you wanna play classic constructed armory decks are around 40 to 50 which is also a deck you can use in blitz
The problem with Vanguard is not the players as much as it's Bushiroad themselves.. they made some bad decisions and will probably do some more in the future.. until that changes the game will continue to lower in players and will eventually go to another reboot and die .. 😢
Hey so this is just my opinion but sure there is a less big sorta maxx c card made however the one thing is that maxx c is when ever you special summon at all to draw one and you just get to keep all those cards in your hand to crush your opponets however this just lets you draw whenever you special summon from deck or extra deck as well if the opponet has say one card in hand then this hand trap will make you send any amount of cards in hand untill you have the same as your opponent's amount of cards in hand so actually sure you could draw other hand traps to mess your opponent's game up but then if they purposely like for say set one card leaving them with just one then you'll only have two cards in hand for your turn one from draw phase and other from the remaining bit of your hand
As much as I love Vanguard. Nah, with the bad precons and staple stock market, id rather Yugioh players just grab the means and play Rush Duel or grab up Battle Spirits Saga.
I say having bought Vyrgilla and Gryhandra, and will buy the reprint triggers and new OTs from fescolle and may or may not buy the new Liael if shes peak.
Ok maybe SOME Vanguard is good. Energy generator though, no one should be paying $10-$14 for 50-42 card bulk for 1 Crest to play "officially". Easily worst part of DZ. I would not tell a new player to get into Vanguard with that as the entry point. Looking forward to buying the QSD triggers from Fescolle. They should have reprinted the crest too
I think V-Premium is a better option than Premium. Remember V-Premium does not have the Over Trigger. It also features the poster boys of Cardfight!! Vanguard. V-Premium and D-Standard are the best options for an event in my opinion.

Hmm I don't know. After reading the comments I got a bit disheartened about the game. I was thinking about going serious on Vanguard. I bought the Dear Days game and I really am having a blast. The artworks are at some points even better than Yugioh. the mechanics and gameplay feel very fun and intriguing. I also don't really mind the OT but I haven't played in the most competitive space so not really sure. The only problem I have with vanguard is the accessibility, whilst some cards are not stupidly prized like in Yugioh (s:p is still 70 euros) there aren't many sellers and on top of that where I live there is only one shop that has weekly tournaments. Now I am conflicted ngl..
Sadly everybody just goes to One Piece and FaB.
Also i feel like Bushiroad doesnt even want to succeed. Taking zero feedback into account every single TIME.
Set 2 doesn’t quite fix it, but a banlist should. We’ve got an English conference this Thursday, so we’re probably gonna get the hits on Luard and Shiranui that JP got.
Shiranui is still gonna be strong, but it won’t be dominant, especially after DZBT03 comes out.

Vanguard is AWFUL to obtain in almost 90% of the countries worldwide.
As a matter of fact, most players around the world that could play vanguard already play it or simply doesn't want to engage with it anymore. And you can Blame Bushiroad for not investing worldwide. Q
OTs are too big of a deterrent (rightfully so) for more serious TCG players. For Bushi to ban the OT is to admit that it was a mistake, I don’t think they’ll ever do that. OPTCG is a way better game for sweaty players. Balance better, prizing better, literally everything is better. Lorcana to an extent too but it has bad card design in general.
I wish my local scene for CFV is going...its just not it anymore...people are playing ygo, mtg and weiss
The thing that you forget is that vangaurd does not have a digital dueler. Well not a good one. for the age of the game, how is there not an automated dueler like master duel or ygopro

The early springfest season, Luard was balanced, then set 1 came out and cerrgaon was released, making Luard extremely strong. Shiranui yeeeee wasn't balanced for the format and still isn't that much after the JP banlist.

I can't speak to how Shiranui/Luard was in Springfest since my Springfest was the only one without them BUT Standard has been feeling pretty good lately. Shiranui is still very broken and yes banlist is coming but the deck will probably still be very strong. The thing that's actually keeping it in check is that there are a ton of good decks that don't care about Shiranui or straight up counter it. Basically what's happening is that Shiranui is a slower deck and everything else is speeding up.
I could be wrong on that assessment tho, we call anyone who plays Shiranui cringe at my locals and pretty much no one wants to play the deck lol
I think the thing that if they can get it right will let them have a major coup is if they can get a Master Duel like game out within that time frame and market it hard as hell
If you're talking about bushiroad if they could get a master duel like get then yeah it's possible but the closest thing is dear days and the V Premium Game That Fell off Even the dear days has a Crap ton of paid dlc ie packs I doubt bushiroad has the ability to drop a free Cardfight Vanguard Game On ALL Consoles if tge did maybe but rn they don't also Hand Traps Exist Like Ash, and Called By The Grave and Most Yu-Gi-Oh Decks Are Cramped as it is so unless you side deck it I doubt you'll it much. This video imo is definitely over hyping the Card.

@@michaelkeha then that's literally a skill issue on their part why blame 1-2 Cards that are situational at best and 1 of which is Banned in the TCG and Say it the most broken thing ever when there are hard counters to it. Heck even in Master Duel I Play Through Maxx C All the Time. Literally The people complaining Just Need to Get Good especially when there are entire archetypes that Completely Halt the Game, Kashtira, Snake Eyes, Pre Ban Tearlements are All Examples of Full Archetypes and Engines that say hey you want to play Yu-Gi-Oh How About No.

I think that's one of those interesting things where you see a divergence between ocg and tcg the ocg seems to favor efficient plays which means maxx c doesn't get the kind of value to put it over the top on top of the hand traps to stop it cold while the tcg without it had become for a long time big combo land

Honestly I'd get back into Vanguard if Dear Days weren't $70. Also, the only shop that ran Vanguard tournaments in my city turned out ot be owned by a massive pervert, so that's cool.

As a ygo boomer and cfv boomer, I REALLY dont see cfv gaining new players. I think both games are in TERRIBLE shape. Probably the worse theyve ever been. Ive played cfv for 13 years, clearly i care about it alot. Yet I almost daily think about completely quitting it nowadays. At this point to expect bushiroad to EVER do better would just be foolish. Which is a heartbreaking shame. I think cfv was a GREAT game, one that could have easily earned a spot as the big 4th, but bushiroad has criminally mismanaged it.
@@Scarecrowkaiser17 with how sets are selling out and set 1 getting a second print run due to popular demand and the jp side just had the largest cfv tournament ever, i dont see it being in bad shape. Our last bsf counldnt even accomodate all the players who wanted to join because there were too many people.

Yugioh is currently waiting for August to see if they’ll shoot themselves in the foot or head. I think Yugioh just needs to 2014 the list in August and remove some immediate profitability by axing fiendsmith, alongside axing snake eye and probably smacking branded to at least get rid of Albion. With maybe a wrist slap to yubel tenpai and something else. If Yugioh doesn’t then vanguard should at least talk about releasing a list from premium to ban the ot there cause I don’t see it happening in standard. But I feel bushiroad will definitely be looked at cause the only other card game that has a power level similar to Yugioh is magic and it’s much more expensive to play modern rn I believe. That would just leave CEDH but that comes with the problem of no tournaments or local scenes but does allow proxy play a lot. The reason I say bushiroad will be looked at next though is because Bandai is a shit company when it comes to card games.

Unfortunately, I don't think Vanguard is in a great position for Yugioh refugees. They need to ban the OT as it's garbage game design and implement an improvement to their reprint structure.
However, if any are interested, build on a budget to start with and try it out with some friends. There is still fun to be had within the game itself regardless of it's issues. It's why we play it.
Oh wait I just read it again but still its way less threatening then maxx c also if you don't get any hand traps for draws then it will be a waste of a card to spend on and plus if you face against a deck like labrynth it's just garbage

I would be very happy if the game became more and more played and famous. Unfortunately I don't think I'll play it anymore, I was able to get over it regarding the OT, but honestly after the patches to the history collection cards the game is dead for me, something too ridiculous, which also ruined my absolute favorite format. I find playing overdress very boring and unfortunately V has now killed, it so yes, I hope the game continues because I loved it so much, but for me, and this is my personal opinion, since they printed the OT the bushiroad staff go really out of his mind. I don't see how they can fix it.

Used to really enjoy yougioh❤ that is until I had to spend more time debating official rules with my opponents and judges then actually playing the game😈 even though I had the official printed out rules with me at events I still got overruled by the judges👻 so much for the fun factor, not mentioning the amount of cheating I experienced first hand…..
heck I spent 80 percent of my time studying the rules and every possible interaction with different cards and 20 percent actually playing the game. 90 percent of the time I still got called a cheater and told I was the one who did not know the rules 😈 unfortunately I have started to experience the same thing playing vanguard. Hopefully it’s just in my area? However my friends in different areas tell me it’s the same……….

VG is going back to the worst moments it had, G-Era, with cards being stupidly overpriced and the company handling the issue awfully.
I seriously doubt any YGO player would come to this game when other cheaper options exist, options that are as fun as vg.

Tried Vanguard and it isn't for me but a tcg video game like Dear Days is what I've been missing and wish other tcg's did, shame about DD's dlc prices tho. I really ended up loving the Digimon TCG instead, it's absolutely fantastic with it's tug of war resource system but it suffers from being a bandai franchise. For those that don't know, Bandai loves artificial scarcity and NEVER reprints their shit, there's also the availability problem. All of their physical products suffer from Bandais bad decisions, be it Digimon, Gundam or any other franchise they own or have the rights to. Now that i think about it, they even suck at supporting their video games, when was the last time we got a "Tales of" game. Terribly managed company in general but at least they make banger games unlike current Komoney.
