Hi Karina, very positive review of the Lusso. A couple of points to help you, the Lusso does have a privacy screen, all of the early display models were sent out without them due to covid there were some supply issues, the dealer should have explained that. The cutlery drawer was in the wrong position, it should be the top drawer, they can be swapped around. Whilst many may not like the table it is also offered with a removable table as an option, as for the cooker next to the bed, have you looked at twin bed caravans, one of the beds will be next to the cooker?
Hi Robert thanks for your input. It would be good if this were reflected on the Coachman website too especially around the table. I would be moving the cutlery tray drawer up to the top as that is a the one I use the most. I have seen lots of twin bed models but it depends on the position of then oven too and they weren’t £40k. It was something I noticed personally as I wouldn’t want pasta sauce or cooking fat shooting over on to my bedding. (Im not very good at cooking as many well know). Why we have ordered one... Firstly I must point out that a central partition DOES come, included in the price - it’s just not included as standard, unless you request it (as not all couples want one). Some features not shown in the video, include: safe in front locker, the cutlery drawer can easily be swapped, the wardrobe allows for full-length coats/dresses, the toilet is ceramic and beautiful quality, the shower is bigger than any other. Compared to the equivalent Hobby and Inos (in our opinion) both we really liked - are too long (or not too safe) for the UK, unless you use a commercial vehicle to tow. Do like the idea of an electric bed - missed a trick there! We were very taken by the Buccaneer and the Lazer, but felt paying the little extra was well worth it for the extras and the quality of the finishing touches in the Lusso. Also, the Lusso is certainly a very attractive van.

A very good in-depth review as usual Karina and Jules. I think it's interesting what I call diminishing returns. I think after 30K probably struggling a bit. Saying that I reviewed a Swift 650 and that was 35K and didn't have E an P so suppose similar. I think 4 Berth 30K can get you something similar to that but appreciate not as plush inside.
When you showed us the kitchen, as you opened up that door on the end of the extension and then shut it , i thought that you would then open up a drawer above it , so disappointed that they hadnt considered putting the cutlery drawer there .

On your description of the table in the front of the caravan you said it was fixed, only sliding in various directions so how do you make the front beds up, the table would be in the way
HI Karin. This is a lovely Caravan and you can see where the money is. The only issues for me are the longe Table it would drive me nuts. No privacy screen is disappointing. I feel the bed is the wrong way round and finally that bowl sink is pointless. Now having said that if the changes were made and I had 40 Grand to spend this would be on my list. I’ve always like coachman caravans but this WOW 🤩 this is different on a new level everything about this looks fantastic just think on holiday down south In the uk with the windows open and cooker on with wine on the table and a sunset in the window you can’t go wrong you really can’t, it looks well built to looks like a tank on the outside, looks almost beefy and that I thank you 🙏 proper caravan at its best, thanks for the tour and explanation about it much appreciated.

If you look back on this vid , when you show us the wardrobe , i noticed a large gap at the top of the robe, the pieces of support that go across the frame . surely that is not right ? I would expect that to be firmly fitted and no gap in joints ?
So many things to like about this caravan, love the kitchen, love the wrap around lounge really spacious, but the fixed table prevents this from being some where to relax, I prefer the bathroom in the middle not at the end. I absolutely agree can’t think why there is no privacy screen for the bedroom - a real miss!! But quality looks excellent, although I don’t think the price tag too steep when you compare to the buccaneer range. Great video though really informative.
Nice Caravan and looks great, not sure I am keen on the dark interior, Can also see the table being an issue for families to shuffle around. although if you think about it not much different to families shuffling along on the traditional seats and tables. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the great review, Karina. Although the van initially looks good and I really like the wrap-around living area, it just goes bad from there onwards. When you look into the design and layout, it appears Coachman has made some major blunders with this one. It's looking like Covid has kept the designers at home on Furlough and left the assembly team to make this one up, who then forgot to put in a privacy divider, microwave over the cooker, cutlery draw in the wrong place. Not a lot of innovation here, just sticking with the same old, and even when they try something new (living room table) they get it wrong. Your idea of it folding in 1/2 is much better. Coachman needs to get people like yourselves to test their prototypes.

Could you not simply swap the cutlery drawer with the top drawer? I know it’s a faf, and I couldn’t see from the video if they were subtly different, but if possible I would just take them off the runners and swap them round.
With that table in a Hobby it’s removable and can be stored under a double bed which is a much better idea IMO, I like the idea of a wrap around sofa though just not that table. Also it’s worth mentioning the price your giving doesn’t include the dealer £545 delivery charge so it’s closer to £41k 😬, I think it will be interesting to see how Elddis react to this with their Buccaneer range, I do think the Buccaneers are due a revamp but the Lusso doesn’t make me yearn to have one over a Buccaneer.

Nice review, thanks for sharing. A really nice caravan. I don't understand the lack of room divider between bedroom and kitchen. I can only assume Coachman are aiming fairly and squarely and couples. Oh don't get me started on fruit bowl sinks especially with something like a shelf above it :-) Still, it's all a personal thing isn't it. If I had £40k to spend on a caravan, I'd buy it. Graham

Great review! I really like it! I am german so I like the mix of european and british influences. The bed is a let down unfortunately. 6.2 foot long and 4.6 wide is not enough since I am 6.1 and not the smallest! 6.5ft long and 5.3 wide should be standard for that kind of money. The biggest issue however is, that I can not buy it in Germany!??? Why is that??
I don’t think the UK manufacturers sell much in Europe but you can buy left hand models from some UK dealers. Swift sell caravans in Germany. Thank you for watching 😊
The automated mover was thrown in for free when we ordered, along with other bits e.g. protection for fabric and outside - would have like electric bed!!
Also... good privacy screen is included, just not shown as not standard (unless asked for, as not everyone wants one - apparently) We ordered and is included in price. It follows the shape of the carpet between kitchen and bedroom.
Just subscribed because we love your in depth reviews and trips, but having come from a swift conqueror 645 T/A ( now motorhomers) the payload on the lusso really let's it down, put a full 4wd mover on and bedding, cups plates etc,, you are defo going to be overweight IMHO. Lovely caravan with a lot of nice features... I still can't justify the best part of £41k. To think I have all what this caravan has and I paid £11k. I know it's second hand but I saved £30k.

I think your idea of a motorised bed is excellent , it has to be heavy to move and sometimes awkward , so yes why not as you say £40k is a lot of money and you expect a little luxury .
Price in February 2021 - £40,455. Price in January 2022 - £45,470. 12% increase in a year! (Although the 2022 model does now come with air conditioning)
We are looking for a luxury van but a fixed table is a big no. I hate feeling confined. Also why the small double bed. We sleep on a 6 foot bed at home so 4 foot 6 means v poor nights sleep for us.
Thanks for watching Julia, I am told that Coachman will be having an optional removable table and there will also be a privacy screen. The bed I presume will stay the same. In terms of top end vans the INOS is right up there at the top. Coachman may have more coming as they have been fully bought out by Kabe. Kabe is a genuine luxury manufacturer from Sweden and I think they have influenced the Kabe. In July Adria will launch their new models and I think their top of the range Alpina will see some changes. The Buccaneer is also due to revamp so maybe we might see more from that range when they launch for 2022 in the summer. I would hold off if you can to see what is coming in the 2022 line up for the luxury end. I personally love the Hobby 620 CL but many people are put off with the door being on the European side. We have a Hobby now and the quality of build is so good. Bed sizes are generous too. But we are looking to change it. I always take a tape measure with me when. I Ewing because manufacturers can be v economical with the truth about bed sizes. A good nights sleep matters to me. You’d think with 8’wide vans a 5- 5’6’ wide bed wouldn’t be unattainable.
You will find the build quality on UK vans very different to your Hobby, the widest beds I can think of are 5”0 on the new Adria Adora Tiber. The Bailey Alicanto Porto is 4”8. Then 4”7 and thats the Alpina and the INOS. Most others are 4”5 or 4”6. I would like to see wider beds too.
I cannot believe this is selling for this price ! I have a lovely 2 berth Ace and it is much better than this. I have a large bathroom and a motor mover with Alco hitch. Why pay for crap like this ? That table is a joke. But love the vlogs and think you do a grand job, so am now subbing. Just to add. I even have a fan roof light, 2awnings aqua roll waste master and 2 awnings for £8000
Very good point about the table, maybe they will pickup on this. And also the bed, for this kind of money I would have thought it would be fitted with motor movers. But if I was looking for a large caravan I'd take myself off to dunstable and look at a Fendt, Tabbert, Lmc or a Hobby. And save myself a few quid. But a very good video and well presented as always. 200kg!!! If you fit awd movers (60kg) and a/c (33kg) you’re left with 107kg payload. Impossible to be legal with these limits. I think most modern caravans will be overloaded and should be targeted by DVLA until the industry recognises that they’re leaving their customers in an untenable position. They’re being built down to a weight so smaller or more cars can tow them. My feelings are that if you don’t have a 4x4 why are you looking at such a huge van? This needs a 2.5 tonne chassis to allow a useful payload. Anything less is an injustice.

As an incentive to complain to those who make the decisions. If your caravan is overloaded your insurance will be null and void. Something to think about.
Wow, £40k and it doesn’t include movers or a/c?! Only 100w solar? Not much god for off-grid... No underfloor heating like on Buccaneer? And only 160kg payload - that’s pretty pathetic. Not a fan of that fixed front table either.

This has to be the worse caravan going Karina that you have shown in my eyes. Like you say getting around the table is poor the Cutlery draw and end bathroom is a big no for people going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. A lot of money for a caravan that does not have air condition and I do not like the self levelling it takes the fun out of caravanning. The only good thing is the kitchen area.
one thing you didnt point out apart from the lack of privacy screen to the bedroom is if you have guests that need to use the loo during the night. they would have to invade your space to get to it. A MASSIVE NO NO. so even if it was half that price i would walk away from buying this model. sorry coachman you designed this one so wrong.

Buccaneer Barracuda is a much nicer caravan for over £4K less money. Please do a review of the Barracuda, would love to hear your thoughts on it.

You push the table down as it is on a hydraulic leg and then the cushions go on top 😊

Nice Caravan and looks great, not sure I am keen on the dark interior, Can also see the table being an issue for families to shuffle around. although if you think about it not much different to families shuffling along on the traditional seats and tables. Thanks for sharing.

Although the van initially looks good and I really like the wrap-around living area, it just goes bad from there onwards. When you look into the design and layout, it appears Coachman has made some major blunders with this one. It's looking like Covid has kept the designers at home on Furlough and left the assembly team to make this one up, who then forgot to put in a privacy divider, microwave over the cooker, cutlery draw in the wrong place.
Not a lot of innovation here, just sticking with the same old, and even when they try something new (living room table) they get it wrong. Your idea of it folding in 1/2 is much better. Coachman needs to get people like yourselves to test their prototypes.

Could you not simply swap the cutlery drawer with the top drawer? I know it’s a faf, and I couldn’t see from the video if they were subtly different, but if possible I would just take them off the runners and swap them round.
@@borntobirdie8475 at a guess , I would say yes. But for me, it's not the a single item, it's the accumulation of all the things not thought out well.
We’ve been look at the lusso. I’d have preferred they keep the G shape lounge but ditch the table rather than revert to the L Shape lounge!

With that table in a Hobby it’s removable and can be stored under a double bed which is a much better idea IMO, I like the idea of a wrap around sofa though just not that table. Also it’s worth mentioning the price your giving doesn’t include the dealer £545 delivery charge so it’s closer to £41k 😬, I think it will be interesting to see how Elddis react to this with their Buccaneer range, I do think the Buccaneers are due a revamp but the Lusso doesn’t make me yearn to have one over a Buccaneer.

Nice review, thanks for sharing. A really nice caravan. I don't understand the lack of room divider between bedroom and kitchen. I can only assume Coachman are aiming fairly and squarely and couples. Oh don't get me started on fruit bowl sinks especially with something like a shelf above it :-) Still, it's all a personal thing isn't it. If I had £40k to spend on a caravan, I'd buy it. Graham

Yes they are and it looks like they are bringing their motorhomes to the UK badged as Coachman. I am sure their luxury caravans may follow.

Great review! I really like it! I am german so I like the mix of european and british influences. The bed is a let down unfortunately. 6.2 foot long and 4.6 wide is not enough since I am 6.1 and not the smallest! 6.5ft long and 5.3 wide should be standard for that kind of money. The biggest issue however is, that I can not buy it in Germany!??? Why is that??
I don’t think the UK manufacturers sell much in Europe but you can buy left hand models from some UK dealers. Swift sell caravans in Germany. Thank you for watching 😊

The automated mover was thrown in for free when we ordered, along with other bits e.g. protection for fabric and outside - would have like electric bed!!
Also... good privacy screen is included, just not shown as not standard (unless asked for, as not everyone wants one - apparently) We ordered and is included in price. It follows the shape of the carpet between kitchen and bedroom.
Just subscribed because we love your in depth reviews and trips, but having come from a swift conqueror 645 T/A ( now motorhomers) the payload on the lusso really let's it down, put a full 4wd mover on and bedding, cups plates etc,, you are defo going to be overweight IMHO. Great review though as always.

Lovely caravan with a lot of nice features... I still can't justify the best part of £41k. To think I have all what this caravan has and I paid £11k. I know it's second hand but I saved £30k.

I think your idea of a motorised bed is excellent , it has to be heavy to move and sometimes awkward , so yes why not as you say £40k is a lot of money and you expect a little luxury .

Price in February 2021 - £40,455. Price in January 2022 - £45,470. 12% increase in a year! (Although the 2022 model does now come with air conditioning)
It is frightening how supply and demand, and maybe a few other factors, have impacted on prices 😐
We are looking for a luxury van but a fixed table is a big no. I hate feeling confined. Also why the small double bed. We sleep on a 6 foot bed at home so 4 foot 6 means v poor nights sleep for us.
Thanks for watching Julia, I am told that Coachman will be having an optional removable table and there will also be a privacy screen. The bed I presume will stay the same. In terms of top end vans the INOS is right up there at the top. Coachman may have more coming as they have been fully bought out by Kabe. Kabe is a genuine luxury manufacturer from Sweden and I think they have influenced the Kabe. In July Adria will launch their new models and I think their top of the range Alpina will see some changes. The Buccaneer is also due to revamp so maybe we might see more from that range when they launch for 2022 in the summer. I would hold off if you can to see what is coming in the 2022 line up for the luxury end. I personally love the Hobby 620 CL but many people are put off with the door being on the European side. We have a Hobby now and the quality of build is so good. Bed sizes are generous too. But we are looking to change it. I always take a tape measure with me when. I Ewing because manufacturers can be v economical with the truth about bed sizes. A good nights sleep matters to me. You’d think with 8’wide vans a 5- 5’6’ wide bed wouldn’t be unattainable.
You will find the build quality on UK vans very different to your Hobby, the widest beds I can think of are 5”0 on the new Adria Adora Tiber. The Bailey Alicanto Porto is 4”8. Then 4”7 and thats the Alpina and the INOS. Most others are 4”5 or 4”6. I would like to see wider beds too.
I cannot believe this is selling for this price ! I have a lovely 2 berth Ace and it is much better than this. I have a large bathroom and a motor mover with Alco hitch. Why pay for crap like this ? That table is a joke. But love the vlogs and think you do a grand job, so am now subbing. Just to add. I even have a fan roof light, 2awnings aqua roll waste master and 2 awnings for £8000

Very good point about the table, maybe they will pickup on this. And also the bed, for this kind of money I would have thought it would be fitted with motor movers. But if I was looking for a large caravan I'd take myself off to dunstable and look at a Fendt, Tabbert, Lmc or a Hobby. And save myself a few quid. But a very good video and well presented as always. 200kg!!! If you fit awd movers (60kg) and a/c (33kg) you’re left with 107kg payload. Impossible to be legal with these limits. I think most modern caravans will be overloaded and should be targeted by DVLA until the industry recognises that they’re leaving their customers in an untenable position. They’re being built down to a weight so smaller or more cars can tow them. My feelings are that if you don’t have a 4x4 why are you looking at such a huge van? This needs a 2.5 tonne chassis to allow a useful payload. Anything less is an injustice.

As an incentive to complain to those who make the decisions. If your caravan is overloaded your insurance will be null and void. Something to think about.
Wow, £40k and it doesn’t include movers or a/c?! Only 100w solar? Not much god for off-grid... No underfloor heating like on Buccaneer? And only 160kg payload - that’s pretty pathetic. Not a fan of that fixed front table either.

This has to be the worse caravan going Karina that you have shown in my eyes. Like you say getting around the table is poor the Cutlery draw and end bathroom is a big no for people going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. A lot of money for a caravan that does not have air condition and I do not like the self levelling it takes the fun out of caravanning. The only good thing is the kitchen area.

one thing you didnt point out apart from the lack of privacy screen to the bedroom is if you have guests that need to use the loo during the night. they would have to invade your space to get to it. A MASSIVE NO NO. so even if it was half that price i would walk away from buying this model. sorry coachman you designed this one so wrong.
