Hi Stephanie! Thank you for the kind words! We made the costumes mostly with cotton broadcloth + vinyl fabric. The dress and jacket were patterns altered from Hanfu clothing instructions that are available online for free! If there's anything more specific about the costumes you'd like to know, we'd be happy to explain! :)

This choreography reminds a lot of earthbending, but there's also a representation of the others 3 elements what is amazing because the Kyoshi warriors aren't formed just by earth kingdom non benders, it began with Avatar Kyoshi and her love one Rangi, a fire nation authority. If feels just right that the Kyoshi warriors should dance and choreograph, because they were made inspired in the order of the flying opera, they were dao fei but also performers, they put on their red and white makeup to disguise as artists and hide their identities from the law. I know that from the book The Rise of Kyoshi, it's amazing and shows a side of Kyoshi that no one knows. Like the fact that they identified the wrong person to be the avatar, an earth kingdom boy called Yun, and Kyoshi grow up being his servant until the day... well, you should read it to know.
This is so crazy amazing, like honestly Suki is my role model and this makes me feel so happy!! She’s one of the reasons I want to learn fencing (sword fighting)

Thank you so much for the kind comment! The fans were purchased; if you'd like to buy a pair of your own you can search for "fan veils" online. Our go-to shop is called "winged sirenny". (although, if you want to get crafty and make your own, you can buy your own fan staves! The fabric is a very thin silk!)
