COMMENT with your thoughts/questions and I'll be in here responding 👍👍 I love for the comments section on my videos to be a discussion forum, so I carve out dedicated time to be in conversation with anybody who chooses to "speak" or type here. Thanks for being amazing!

Love it. Gonna use the edit tool for my Englisch class today here in Livorno. You said it Chad, its all about speaking and listening

Love when the application time from one of my videos to "real life" is less than a day! I trust it'll go swimmingly! 👍👍

    JOMO concept sounds good!

Most useful if shared amongst a team for sure.

    Thoughts while watching the video:
    - A flashback: people actually got offended for being offered to sit out of meetings and 'get some time back'
    - Make meeting recaps mandatory (regardless full or half attendance) to help people embrace JOMO better - and help everyone stay abreast of what's discussed. #transparency
    - Good reminder to set clear intention for a meeting - one that's beyond immediate KPI but also how it contributes to the big picture
    - Want to have and want to contribute to more meetings where people walk out feeling/saying "omg that was kickass - so worth my time"

Melding the two ideas: definitely super important to be crystal clear on your intention for "uninviting" somebody from a meeting. Also, it is possible to do too much uninviting. If a team wants to adopt this concept, having a 15 minute chat of what they want the culture of JOMO to look like on the team would proactively address this issue 👍👍

As an online teacher I have trouble wording the purpose of our class meetings since I end up not framing it very well. I say, “Today we are going to go over (topic x) so that you can…easily use this concept/ do well on your assignment/ have an easier time on your project/ be able to do (x task) … etc and it just sounds rather boring in the end. Is there a way to frame this better? Maybe… earn the grade you want, not get frustrated, save some time? I’m not sure.

Mmmmm, wanting to get punchy. First off, this video may help you go deeper: th-cam.com/video/KK9KU97bPcg/w-d-xo.html Mastering this will require you to know what your specific students care about. You could make an intent honest but funny by saying "Today I'm going to help you master X TOPIC , so that Alex (and others) can finish his homework faster and go golfing afterward." But something like that would require you to know a bit about Alex.
