I hope that Intel money was worth it because the OG Claw is in last place among the current crop of handheld PCs. However, the upcoming Claw 8 ai+ has tons of potential and I've got my eye on it. On paper, it's a dream handheld. Not quite perfect because there's no trackpad and the screen isn't an OLED but if it meets expectations, I might dump my OLED Deck and Legion Go.
I think it runs better then the legion Go, I got it yesterday for $529 with plans to return it when my Legion Go is done being repaired, but this honestly runs better and smoother than the Legion, and better battery life, just gonna need a 2tb micro SD card
I really can't get on board those thick black bezels above and below the screen. They've fixed this with the upcoming MSI Claw 8 AI+, with a 16: 10 ratio screen and smaller bezels. It's the one thing that made me go the SD OLED route, and almost bought a Legion Go if it wasn't for the issues that comes with it. I really like the look of this otherwise especially now it's a lot cheaper.
When it released it had extremely bad performance like it was rushed but after some driver updates it got up to 150% better performance depending on the game atleast so they pretty much fixed it.
It sounds like this is just a commercial paid by MSI who also gave you a free claw also on top of that if it cost $800 it might as well not only have an full HD liquid retina screen like Apple does at least 32 gigs of RAM and $800. You might as well throw 2 TB of storage in there. I’m gonna start a new TH-cam channel where I make handheld PC handheld’s for a lot cheaper than that, and if I can do it, then these big companies can do it too. We might even start a company out of it. Listen to your clients. Listen to your customers. Listen to the gamers they will tell you what you need to do as a company and as long as you do it, you have proud gamers for life.
OK so its portable but the battery only lasts just over an hour on full fps mode so basically its a under powered pc that can last 1 hour 20 mins without being plugged in wow brilliant
yes OFC i mean PS game can cost avg $60 with physical disk sometimes it became more expensive, this thing also same like ALLY and Legion go may be designed for gaming but you can use it for PC like Work or daily use, meanwhile in PS you can only use it for gaming imagine $500 and you stuck play couple of games because you don't have any money, at least in claw you can use it for browsing internet.
@@lost4356 i buyed a rg556 for ps2 games, all games are free. And i will go for a ps5 with disc because u can buy cheap seconnd hand games for 10-20€ instead of 60-70€

It’s also the newest system. I got my Steam Deck on Day 1 and it has improved so much since then.
Guys the claw just needs time like after a load of driver updates and everything else then performance will be on par with legion go and ally x

But how does it perform off the battery alone? Because I have the Lenovo legion laptop and it’s horrible if I unplug it. Performance drop is crazy.

Its expensive compared to ROG Ally and legion go and you get worse performance. Its the Intel chip. Not as good as ryzen z1 extreme.
