Onions and peppers burn long before potatoes are cooked. Put them in when the potatoes are at least half cooked. Less fire would be better for cooking, but I didn't see any easy way to turn the stove down :-) Nice cabin in a lovely setting, though. Good job.
It depends on the time of year If it is winter and all the water is froze I can walk to the little cabin on the river 25 minutes If it is Spring time I might have to use a boat it could take a hour Or so
