    bro i just wanted to ask,the way we divide the length of weld on either side when designing in plane member, can we divide this required weld ht in the same manner??plz answer

    One doubt here. In sk duggal book( limit state designof steel structure 2nd edition) page no. 702 and 703 they have given entirely different thing. Please can you look at it and also see example 14.9 and 14.10

    When minimum throat thickness(t) should be 3 mm as you said as per the code .. then why we have taken it as 2.8 mm??

    if the beam is welded to the column without any plate, may i know how should i calculate for the eccentricity? The loading on beam is UDL.

    Minimum size of weld is governed by thickness of thicker plate ..

    here t will be thickness or throat thickness plz tell me clearly
    and in lecture 11 part2 u r taking 300KN as factored load ie not multiplyed in solution with1.5

      Here t is throat thickness. In example also I have multiplied thickness with 0.7. In lecture 11 part 2, In question it was given as factored load. I did not write the question that is why this confusion came. For future problems if you find in question that working load is given then multiply with 1.5 and if factored load is given then take as it is.
