You really said something. The temptation to “keep up” is everywhere. There are so many different lifestyles and ways to live out there. And honestly what works for us in this season of life may not work in the next and that’s okay. Putting ourselves in a box will only make us miserable in the long run.

Thanks for this Kelly. I've been reading this book called "The Power of Now" and it's really helped me realize that literally nothing matters except for the present moment. Being intentional with the things you do throughout the day is really what life is about!

Black and white thinking and clinging to certain identities are symptoms of youth. Everyone i know has gone through a similar stage in their early 20s, most people grow put of it and eventually come into their own true selves by their 30s.
Wow. No joke, I literally was down on myself because I was comparing myself to my friend who is doing the exact opposite of this video: living a fast pace lifestyle. I felt bad for myself because I felt like I was a failure compared to her because I wasn’t taking part of doing multiple things at once. So I will definitely take my time now. Thank you Kelly. 03:25 - Omg YESSSSS Professor, that’s why I can’t do social media (aside from the TH-cams), because we are multifaceted and it causes so much inner turmoil to only put one part of yourself on display and hide the rest because it’s not aesthetically aesthetic!! I had to pause to comment because I feel this so strongly 😅
These different “aesthetic lifestyle” trends looks so visually appealing, but they require you to become so rigid to your life looking that specific way, and there is no room for branching out. And peoples anxiety increases as they focus more and more on adhering to the trend, that they aren’t consciously considering whether the lifestyle is benefiting them.
Live life intuitively. “Does this make me feel good?” Is a great question to start with. “Am I doing this for me, or to feel part of something?” Is another question worth asking.

SC has warped people's perspective of life. we all want an escape from life but you said something interesting. we start to compare ourselves to perfect images but we never see the BTS of these lifestyles and photos that we think something is wrong with us when we are not perfect. Individualism > Your fav aesthetic. Aesthetic are for mood boards and art not life. Life has no aesthetic because it is ever changing. I'm glad you spoke about this

We all deserve to be at peace. Let's not focus on aesthetics, opinions, standards of "society". If only we actually realized how short life is and stopped looking at how others are living and mindlessly scrol and compare Ourselves and feel bad for ourselves... Life is now, all we have is now. Getting inspiration from others is healthy but comparing and copying...is not.
