Thanks BB - much appreciated - the whole TH-cam/subscriber thing is damn tricky but maybe I will crack it one day! Hope all well and thanks for watching - All the Best, Alexander
I think its about time xp deus gave you a deus two to test you certainly deserve it as your far better than most u tubers. Had to be said. That aside great video love the history well done 😊👍
What fun! Lovely picks and I always appreciate learning more about things. Ear scratches to Tasci.....looking so handsome these days. Perfect video for a rainy day. Yes, it finally happened and I have spent most of the day on the front porch enjoying it and the cooler weather. I hope your day is going well too.
How can Tasci be so cute? I'm always so fascinated by your surroundings Alexander. Your home looks so interesting, I imagine that you're a professor in real life. The Republican denarius was stunning. I loved them all. The coin of Augustus too. He was a very interesting character. Loved the detail on the Vespasian coin too, it really was crisp.
Thank you very much Tim, all good here and hope all well with you! You'll maybe have to come over to Europe yourself one day and find some silver Romans!
Hi Alexander, as a detectorist I love anything Roman, love coins, love silver!! Like you, Roman gold still on my wish-list. Great to hear your take on the emperors and what characters they were. A bit like your 'audience' cheering in the room!😂 Well done you, looking forward to a 'gold' edition one day.ATB.
My favorite is the Vespasian Denarii! Great detail and condition, and I love the style! I definitely would put it a little higher on the list.. And very nice Faustina II, some really great finds👍 Congratulations mate!
Well done Alexander mate very interesting indeed. My favourite coin would be a close call between the last two. Yeah the 4 horse coin is my favourite the comet one is just as but the detail in the other one is just amazing. Tasco he is growing into a great looking dog. Hope you find a hoard of Roman gold coins Alexander 🤞. See you on your next video mate. All the best Al.✌️👍🦘🇦🇺
Thanks Allan! Tasci is very handsome he takes after his owner!!! 😂 Thanks for watching and for all ypu comments mate, its much appreciated!!! Hope all well and stay safe - All the Best, Alexander
Alexander, what a marvelous selection but even more amazing to have found such a range in Britain, particularly the Republican example. The four earliest are in outstanding condition. Congratulations on finding them, deciding on five to exhibit and also on showing them off to us. Hopefully Tasci will lead you to an aureus one day.
Thanks EAW, I feel very lucky to have found some of those coins I must say! Hope all well and thank you very much for watching - all the best, Alexander
A fascinating top 5! Vespasian is the one and only denarius I have found (with I believe, a crisp standing Roma facing left holding scales and a scepter). However, a silver surface patch in the approximate shape of a surgical mask is missing across his face, revealing a copper core, which was funny as I found it after a recent lockdown. I don't think it is a fake, but it's clearly debased. Perhaps after all, if the monneyers managed to place the silver around a copper core, they also perfected the alloy to make the surface very durable - it came out of a woodland soil, all shiny with no patina at all.
Wow Paul, sounds a very nice and very interesting one... they are quite hard to tell the fourrées but it does sound like one... they are sometimes more valuable because actually often quite rare...! Hope all well and thanks for watching! All the Best, Alexander
@@HolzhammerLite OK, so you'd consider it a counterfeit one? I was telling myself that as the outer surface was pretty solid silver, and nothing like a washed silver Roman, it was perhaps a sneaky, but sanctioned practice of the official monneyers of Vespasian. Could we not say that modern clad copper coins with a steel core are fourrées, or is it only is the case where the actual head of state doesn't know? 🤔 Fourrées are a new thing to explore for me - yet another fascinating place where the hobby can lead us. All the best, Paul.
A fine collection of silver Roman coins with some interesting info Alex. I have only found one denarius Antonius Pius 138 161. It’s in lovely condition. Len

Lovely coins .... my son found a tiny silver roman last Saturday do you know of any good websites where I can look to find out about his new coin thanks Ian
Crikey Mrlan take your pick... there are lots and all good in different ways as some are quite "advanced" Google Roman coin ID and work through them is my best advice - see which one suits you best and good luck
