- Restoration and cleaning of silver Roman denarius coins. In this video, I showed how to clean Roman silver coins and 18th and 19th century coins. I found these coins with a metal detector in the forest. I first washed the old coins in water and then used a silver cleaning solution. I liked the result, the old patina remained on the coins. I hope you liked my restoration.

Excelente limpieza 👌🏻👌🏻, muchas gracias por compartirlo.
Good job...
Hi ReXtorer! Nice Finds! It's hard to believe you can still find coins that old! I just subscribed to your channel! 😎🏆
Nice find! (and restauration) - the good old days when money had some value, right :)
Thank you! Yes, there used to be metal, not paper)
I hope I get it too btw I'm people Malaysia
What a cool fortune you have restored.
Very nicely done, I appreciate your slow approach. Might I ask what your "silver cleaning solution" is?
Cianuro y quedan las mondadas de maravilla
Wow Gracias 🥰🥰🥰🥰🤜🤛🤝
Amazing Restoration 👍🏻👍🏽👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
thanks!
Good information, thanks for sharing it :)
No, please, don't make them shiny... 🙈
Edit: Ok, good! Thank you! 😅
Mirror polish all the things! lol.
This guy is really good about conservation vs restoration. He is legit. There are many others on YT who claim items are antique, or many hundreds of years old, then they make them shiny like they wouldn’t have been even new. 🙄
Get the steel wool out
Mmmh... true patina bye bye..
Is there any specific type of soap that should be used?
Great!!! Which is the silver solution?
👍
Sent it to museum
SATISFYING TO WATCH
Restaurada 6 moedas 😉

What country and denomination are the two coins that are not roman?
I wonder how old that dirt was you cleaned off those coins🤔
If these are Roman coins, then probably 1800-1900 years. Maximum 1925 years)
wow... how much are they worth?
It looks simple, but in fact it is a lot of kilometers traveled and a lot of excavated earth. Here is a video from my other channel where I show how I search th-cam.com/video/qMxV25Pf-yM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ojj3MyMo_qHQAH2C
I wonder how much money those coins would be worth?
a lot less now they have been cleaned
These are not expensive coins. But very interesting)
A wire wheel or sandblasting with a steel media, woulda been faster!
🤣🤣🤣 Yes, I'm just kidding.
Come no....😂
Hold on a second there chap... How did Roman coins ended up in Ukraine?
There are a lot of them here
Have you ever heard about Sarmatia...?
@@Mastice81 Oh right... I was guessing Silk Road but this also have sense.
"I will not clean these coins any further." Begins cleaning further.
You were not attentive. I only finished cleaning two coins
Polish - Lithuanian coins...
Bro, You can at least put the coins in the coin holder the wright way. It's not that hard.
There’s no way those are 2000 yr old Roman coins! And I find it extremely unlikely that you randomly found them in the forest!
Ofc they're not. That old coin under the soil would not even be recognisable.
Just take a look at the coins found close to the dead soldier remains of WW1 or WW2. They're looking way worse than this.
So I can imagine what a 2000 years old coin would look like.
I found them with a metal detector. Here is a video from my other channel th-cam.com/video/qMxV25Pf-yM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ojj3MyMo_qHQAH2C
What should these coins look like? I found hundreds of Roman coins and they all looked good. These are silver coins, silver does not corrode
@@redeyexxx1841 I can't say whether or not the metal detecting part of this video is real as there are so many fakes where the TH-camr just buries the coins ahead of time then "finds" them, however the coins themselves are real. I collect ancient Roman bronze & silver coins along with bronze & silver rings too. The Romans minted coins for 800+ years not counting the eastern empire, and they minted a TON of them. Bronze, silver, and gold can last an extremely long time buried underground. Especially gold and silver. Bronze corrodes but the amount of corrosion depends on the condition of the surrounding dirt where it is buried. It is possible to find bronze coins which are in incredibly good condition with all the fine details still present, and at the same time it's also possible to find them so corroded that they just look like greenish brown disks with little to no detail.
It's possible to buy really nice 1700 year old ancient Roman bronze coins for under $25USD.
I guess he is comparing them to the cheap modern coins that are just capped metal, like the early 1900s German coins fall apart very easily . But you're right, silver doesn't corrode, as long as it doesn't melt it stays as a coin forever @@ReXtorer
well that has ruined the monetary and historical value of them
Why? This is a classic cleaning for museums and collections. Minimal mechanical impact.
You are damaging the coins omfg.
Don't use cotton swap, use heated lemon juice concentrate, then use a dampened tip wooden toothpick if you want to remove.certain deposits on the coin.
Well when you find old Roman coins, feel free to do it your way.
Question: why the numbers are not in roman numbers? (Letters)
6:18
You said at 3:19 that you "will not need to clean these coins anymore." Yet, you proceeded to go through two more stepped processes to clean them. They look nice after being cleaned, however, you should learn to keep to your word a little better than you had in this video.
