It's amazing that a man who created one of the most popular games in US history ended up being it's biggest winner of all. He lived to be 99 years old. Obviously he knew a lot more about winning in the real game of life than anybody ever gave him credit for.
When I was a kid, we only collected 50k when landing exactly on the Salary space, no just passing. Did they change the rule, or were we playing wrong? I do remember we were always broke, with tons of debts, so that could've been the reason, lol.

Its not complex. The instructions in the box do a really good job of explaining it so as you play you can easily refer to the instructions if you forget.
I would love to see a video on the older (1991) version. The newer ones suck. I found an older one at a second hand store and it doesn’t have the instructions

I was expecting some kind of second level play strategy, for some reason, not a manual summary. You should do a second one, Mastering X, because even simple games have some next level stuff. Looking at the base rules, clearly there is some career strategy related to the upper and lower bounds, and a house strategy as well.

I have a few questions: 1. When you first start the game and you choose college, do you have to pay $100k? 2. When you get the card being fired from your job and has to take another card, do you pick college career if you are a graduate or you pick career regardless? 3. What if there is no more available cars for my extra babies? 4. So when you reach a stop sign you have to stop regardless right? And you said to continue you spin again. Is that on the next turn or this turn? 5. Do we have to wait for the LAST player to retire? Because it happened that the last player been getting a small number and he ended with action card which doubled all other players... Thx
1. Yes. 2. Pick a College Career if you started on the College path. If you started from Career path, then pick cards from the career deck. 3. Do nothing. 4. You must stop and perform the action. Then you gain an Extra Turn right away. 5. Yes, you have to wait for all other players to reach the end. But if you think it’s with no gains, here’s my Variation that solves the problem: When you are retired, you still get your turn and spin the wheel, but it’s now only for cash. The amount of $ you get is 10K times the number you landed on. So if the wheel stops on a 5, you get 50K.

It's not actually that bad, at least in my experience. My least favourite part of it are the action cards that say 'whoever spins the highest gets x money' which for me really slow the game down and is just annoying due to their abundance. That being said, there are a few factors which make make me prefer my 1985 edition, but the advantage of this game is its simplicity. That being said, I agree with the sentiment of your comment.
My Variation: If you land on the Payday space, you get 2X Salary instead of the 100K bonus. If you land on a baby space when your car is full, do nothing. You can own up to 3 Houses. If you get a 4th or more house, you must sell houses right away so the number of houses remains at 3. You can take out up to 3 Bank Loans at a time. If you can't pay after having 3 bank loans(except when repaying Loans), you have to sell Houses(if you have one) or you'll go bankrupt and you are eliminated. Bankrupt by bank? Pay the bank all your cash and loans, and the action cards and pet cards will be returned to the bottom of the deck. Bankrupt by another player? Pay that player all you Action and pet cards, as well as all your cash and loans. The player who caused your bankruptcy will have to settle all your loans immediately. Object of the game: get your token to the center of the board and shout "jumanji!" rhino space: if you land here then you will take the rhino and put it in front of another player and they cant move unless they roll an even number on their turn. 5 or 8 space: player that lands on this cant move unless they roll 5 or 8 on their next turn. Blank space: take a card. Stick it in the decoder and read it out loud. Look at the symbol and number on the card. Flip the hour glass and everyone rolls the rescue die until they roll the matching symbol on the card. If you get it in time, you move forward the number of spaces. If you dont roll it in time, you go backward the number of spaces and place the card on the doomsday grid(left side card spaces). If the doomsday grid gets full, then everyone loses. Jungle Space:(big circle) if you land here, everyone does what you do for a blank space, accept, everyone moves the number of spaces.
