The cornering and handling on my 12 CRV is a hair raising experience. Taking bumps on curves at highway speed is downright scary. I have to do this. Was considering KYB but seems like the Bilsteins are firmer which is what I want.
No it is not, Per Bilstein for NON INVERTED MONOTUBE struts you use OEM bump stop and boot. ONLY the Inverted Monotube B6 and B8 are engineered with the internal bump stop. The Highlander Bilstein B6 is not engineered this way. I personally confirmed this with Thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America; as I was interested in this upgrade too, and if you watch the development of these shocks you can see in the video above these are CLEARLY not inverted monotubes. @@TOisONit
NOT true, please check with Bilstein the HIGHLANDER Bilstein B6 does not offer INVERTED MONOTUBE struts with internal bump stop. This was verified by Thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America
No not with this type of b6 strut this is not an upside down design. there are a lot of b6 struts that are tho. But with those that upper shaft is thicker (almost as thick as the yellow tube) and the bump stops are inside the yellow tube.
B6 struts are an inverted monotube so the bumpstop is integrated, B6 shocks are not so the bumpstop (struts are for macpherson style suspension while shocks are for double wishbone/multi link suspension
Thank you for the video! I am planning to install the front B6's on my highlander. Already did the rear B6's and that was a huge improvement. How is the corning entering/exiting compared to stock?
@@OtterXtra Thank you! Right now my the ride in the rear is very tight and controlling and front is semi all over the place so I'm excited to have the entire car tightened up
@fastreviews4your Would you recommend the B6 if you drive rough and harsh roads? I need new struts all around but most of the roads I drive are rough dirt roads. Seems most people like the B6 for better handling or a sportier ride.
The b6 sacrifice the small bump sensitivity in exchange for the sharper handling. The stock struts are kyb. They ride softer, but the body sways. Make sure you get the front strut hats when you do it.
@LordWilliams When u drive with bilstein b6 shocks and struts, did it feel like u have front struts and rear sway bar? And makes u feel like u don’t need a front strut bar and rear sway bar, all thanks to the b6 monotube shocks and struts?
😂😂😂😂😂😂 DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE Any new shocks and struts will feel better . KYB is much easier on the wallet and performs better. ALL SHOCKS AND STRUTS WILL WEAR OUT NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT COST YOU 😂
What’s wrong with that? We have some highlander enthusiasts modifying like this. Why do u ask? Because with bilstein b6 monotube shocks and struts, it makes ur vehicles stable better, handle better, comfier yet firmer in a good way. I’m gonna do that too ok a lifted application for my lifted xB. Alresdy got the rav4 front struts b6 and rear Tacoma b6/4600.
Damn silly question. You'd want a wallowy Pig On Stilts....why? What you should be asking is why doesn't a manufacturer offer such an option? Answer...Because most folk don't care. Until they drive one.
@Kenard10 and anyone else who watched this video. Just to let you know internal bump stops are only on the INVERTED Bilstein struts. Bilstein struts for this car are NOT inverted monotube shocks with the internal bump stop. PER BILSTEIN: "For this product you are to transfer over the boot and bump stop from the original equipment." I am not trolling you but you are incorrect on this particular application. On the B6 and B8 Bilstein that feature INVERTED MONOTUBE engineering you would be correct. I would suggest checking Bilstein if you are in need of further information. amzn.to/3oQf7la Front struts
amzn.to/3J1JEmZ rear shcoks These are the struts on amazon, use toyota Struts hats plase, both are affialte links
He avoided 4 way STOP sign 😂
I installed in my Volvo XC90I and XC60 2015 very very very good, better than the original so much.

aren't bump stops integrated inside the cylinder of the b6s? so you dont need to put the old one?
Is this true? I just purchased some and don't recall that in the description.

I have question this front shock absorber Bilstien B6 this is a Monotube shock absorber.
Nope not on the highlander application.

Way better, the stock shocks had no problems just wrong valving
@@OtterXtra Thank you! Right now my the ride in the rear is very tight and controlling and front is semi all over the place so I'm excited to have the entire car tightened up
unless you track and race the car then not really worth the cost. Bilstein costs 3x what OEM struts sell for.
They are $16 more than the OEM
them are mono tube. piston rod look same size as Toyota oe. b6 mono tube should be bigger rod

it feels more sporty. it does not feel as gushy
@@OtterXtra glad to hear that. I really can’t wait to get my Bilstein B6, installed in my lifted 2015 Scion xB. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
@BryenWilliams
Are u still running bilstein b6 shocks and struts?
If so, any problems with it? Or still running great?
And how’s the ride feel now?
They are a little stiff, handles like a new car I recommend
@@OtterXtra that’s what I want: soft but yet firmer.
Handle increase, reduce nose dive when braking.
💯 it does feel a bit firmer in small bumps. The main thing is it takes the body seat out of the ride
Just installed these. Have you noticed more road noise in the cabin on small bumps?
ya, it sacrifices the small bump compliance for better handling. not sure about noise
😂😂😂😂😂😂
