Now, that's my kinda car...! Simple, straightforward honest-to-goodness motoring. Everything degradable is owner serviceable. It's highly unlikely to break down, and if it does, and you know the basics, you should be able to get it going again. I had two Marinas, one of those was a 1974 M-plate 1300 auto. Not quick, not fast, wobbly on corners, but a doddle to live with...
Well said that man ,there is a value in simple things ,at least hats what the wife says 🤣
My neighbour had this.Before .He sad,that eve see ? And we called like what we have udu to.
@markoparviainen77 👍
@@tedthesailor172 Oh.thank you oll this .like i said,i like a model and colour. 🙂

Absolutely love it hope its around in a few months itd look nice with my mgb gt
Brilliant, thank you 😊
My late father had a brand new 71 1.8 deluxe in orange back in the day. It went like a rocket. Leave the old cortina,s standing at the lights. I cant understand why everybody slated them off. In my opinion they were a very good car.
I think having had this one and it's 50 years old ,I can't quite see why they were slated so much ,I'm enjoying having it 😄
Beautiful low mileage example and a rare 1.8 which sounds good. I hope it goes to a good home
Thank you I think we have found him a home 🙂
The most maligned British Leyland car after the Allegro. Dad used to have a Hillman Avenger, just as good or bad as the Marina.
Yup ,not a lot to pick between those 🙂
I feel like putting my flairs and wooly tank top on
Haha do it 🤣
Like many my dad had a Marina, it was a purple TC Coupe, would have been …..early 70’s. Fond memories.
The Tc ,faster than an Mgb that was the sports car of the day ,and in purple what a colour and so 70s 🙂
@@jfro5867 Marina .Some neighbour's have hatsback ,one a colour cold ,sedan.
Hatcback

😂😂😂 you're dead right ,there isn't an awful lot you couldn't do on it without a 13mm 17mm and 19mm spanner a double ended screwdriver and a hammer and a spare hour 😀
50 routes for 50 years motoring
🙂🙂 absolutely
There is no piano on it’s roof.
🤔
Slow clap.
@Alex-ko4og 🤔
not my favourite car nothing personal. The styling and mechanics werent fantastic and were a lot better cars around especially the Japanese cars of the day. I dont think there was a lot of thought that went into these and were used as company cars, the company i worked for had a fleet probably because they were cheap but each to there own. Any way good video.
Thank you ,definitely a considered Outlook, if we're honest I don't think they were anyone's favourites, it's just well for me anyway expectations are the killer of all dreams and having heard all the horror stories I expected nothing, bit I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, I think it's main plus points is freedom from all the nannying stuff of today ,and of course the nostalgia of seeing something that used to be everywhere and now almost never seen ,thanks for the kind words on the video 🙂
This car was the ULTIMATE load of rubbish. Noisy inside, hard seats. terrible over steer. Garbage, Everyone involved in its manufacture should be ashamed,
Well sir so should you ,its still here probably outlasted a lot of other things , all things go into where we are now ,spread the love ,I actually fine it quite nice and the seats are comfy ,sure it's no Merc but then it's not supposed to be 😀
Did you own one then??
@@jamescourt4703 my thoughts exactly
There was always some bugger happy to slag off Marinas I had 2 as company cars one did 130k absolutely brillantly the BMC engine was almost bullet proof and they were comfortable for the day. Then we got got Mk2 Escorts estates, they were terrible, not one of then got to 100k with out serious repairs, diffs, multiple clutches, gearbox layshafts one even had a drivers seat back shear off.
@CaptainChuckles absolutely, I've had countless old cars ,this really doesn't seem any worse really than any of its sector , there were thousands of them ,it stands to reason any mechanical thing will have a problem at se point ,were there more marinas I don't know 🙂
