Oh my oh my Matt. I’m very late to the party on this one. 4 years too late, but this model Z650 was just like I bought from Kevarks down Cleethorpes Rd back in 1980. I passed my test on a Wednesday and rode away one like this on the Saturday, same week at a cost of £1250 brand new. My 1st big 4 cylinder bike. Oh those were the days. I too wouldn’t mind one of these just for the nostalgia. The bloke who restored this Z650 did a fantastic job. The year now is 2024 but I remember buying it new like it was yesterday. 😢

I know I’m late to this party Matt, but I own one of these beauties. A 2019 with a full decat and link pipe to the standard silencer and she’s amazing. I absolutely love her. She’s in the 1st iconic colour scheme that Kawasaki produced for the 70’s in what us Brits call “Jaffa” candytone Orange / candytone brown. A fantastic harp back to the original retro style of the 70’s with all the mod cons. I’m so spoiled. Been riding 47 years now and absolutely love my Z900rs. She’s definitely a keeper, unless ??? 😉

Blimey ! What a lovely big powerful Saab. I’ve never seen this model before. Love this shape with its floating roofline. Great low mileage too. What’s not to like ? Maybe the fuel economy but wow ! What a flying machine. The good old days of proper Saab engineering. Saab used to be naughty and didn’t take much notice of GM when it came to producing these motors.

What did it sell for? I picked up a 1982 XL250R Paris Dakar earlier this year. JC.

I so want this bike

I love these - and nearly bought one years ago - but just saw nothing but old crap with the usual rust-bucket issues. Bullet-proof engines, and very analogue interiors with hard-wearing seats. If I found one that wasn't a dog in the usual places - what does the lift kit cost?

Last year of the non-messy oil filter change. The stock 40mm carb is near perfect. Idle should be at 950rpm, though. Potato, potato sounds cool, but rolling tater tots should be more like it. There is not a a lot of oil pressure at low idle.

30 grand on ebay. Great value. So much more interesting than a bmw or merc or audi.

The TOM TOM in the dash top is a great feature. There is so much going on with this interior that hiding it and other minor stuff makes it a great interior

Great bike! I rode one on the street, worked in a Suzuki shop in those days and raced a Trackmaster-framed X-6 in professional dirt track (Ascot Park 1/2 mile). Fast, reliable and easy to live with, the X-6 is still an ideal bike for modern riding conditions.

Back in 98 I was desperate for one of these…..very tempted!

Ohhh. I had one of these. Was epic.

Had 2 Marina 1.3 saloons and later an Ital 1.7 OHC - all very reliable, roomy, cheap to run, service and repair. Never regretted buying any of them, and I drove Escorts and all Cortina models. Rust was the great enemy of all cars of that period. Keeping rust at bay was not easy with our winters and salted roads. Wheel arches accumulated mud and road salt, inevitably rotting away undersides.

People in Montana built those engines into 120 octane screamers and put em in hillclimb bikes they were rad to hear!
