Exhaust tone difference is single vs twin scroll turbo and manifold. Twinscroll manifold pairs one long runner with one short. This evens out the pulses entering the turbo and makes it sound equal length past the turbo.
This is my favorite version of the STI and it's the one I've been saving up for. I'm planning on swapping an EJ207 into it instead of the EJ257 it comes with here in the U.S.
I've looked into it because I prefer the 207 too. Takes quite a lot of work...either buy one with a 2.5...get a wrx and spend the money on a 207 because it's direct fit with just some working...or wait until we can get these into the US. Lol

Where I live, every Subaru has really corroded engine parts and hardware under the hood after a few years. So weird to see a 15 year old Scoobydoo with such a clean engine bay.
You are right about the air flow for the top mount-- but-- I have been driving vehicles with scoops and wings all my life-- I've seen a few of these changed over to front mount and then they install the standard hood-- I kind of like that look overall. Sedate, but you still get the performance.
It's not what people like, it's a garbage wing that just adds a ton of weight and does nothing at all for the car. Thus the reason 99% of them have spoiler deletes or have an aftermarket wing that actually provides down force and doesn't weight a ton.
mynameisray i think thats why the hawkeye version had a roof spoiler at the top of the back window to try and channel more air under the main spoiler as most just goes over it lol really comes down to personal preference as you say i'll stick with mine 😝

That wheel is straight out of a USDM or Canadian 04 STi. Not sure if they used the same in the JDM cars

That front bumper are not offered in the Sti package .. it's an aftermarket option. Neither is the hood scoop

mynameisray what's funny is that STI owners tend to remove the spoiler meanwhile WRX owners tend to buy up STI spoilers to install them
