Just Subscribed - Just needed to say a huge thanks for explaining this in the most easy understanding way. Smart Objects was something not many have explained well but the Potato and Bag actually worked very well (its probably just me being rather slow to understand).

I cam here trying to understand the difference between a smart object to a vector. I left with a better understanding of what a smart object actually does. Thank you for that. Now I have a better understanding on when to use a smart object and when it isn't necessary. Great explanation.

thank you, you explained it perfectly, at least now I understand it after all this time I sell items on line and found the clarity of my photos change every time I shrink or expand them or matter of fact anything I do to the photo. Now I will do things differently. I will be watching this video again to make SURE I got it. Thanks again

I really enjoyed this! I started a new job recently and found that I'd be using PS a lot more than I had in the recent past. My last job was 90% ID so I'd forgotten a lot of the advanced PS stuff. WELP....I never fully learned and understood smart objects. The projects I'm working on at work have a lot of them and when I can't visualize how something works it COMPLETELY confuses me and then I start to doubt myself as a designer. Breaking down the lesson to a friggin potato and a bag REALLY made me "SEE IT!" Sometimes you just gotta "dumb things down" and break it down so it doesn't seem so overwhelming to help someone get out of their head. Thanks for that! :) I'll save this lesson for sure and check out all of your other ones. Followed and subscribed! THANKS AGAIN!

I tend to use SO's quite a bit in my digital art. I can tweek a character, for instance, then, change it to a SO, then, go about my work. It lowers the size of the document, though, people have argued that they make a file larger. For me, each component of my piece is its own SO, more or less! Thanks for a cool video!
