  • As a formerly incarcerated individual who felt the pain points of trying to find viable employment after imprisonment, out of desperation Coss created his own solution by founding the ConBody prison-style workout programme. His mission expanded to include helping other ex-cons find employment by offering them positions as trainers and staff members at ConBody.
In 2009, Coss Marte was sent to jail as the ringleader of a multi-million-dollar cocaine operation. He was also grossly overweight and warned by his physician that his current lifestyle, if left unchecked, would likely kill him. Faced with this grim prognosis, Coss started to get in shape using the tools he had -- his prison cell and his own body weight. Within six months he lost 70 pounds and replicated his successful formula of body weight exercises with 20 other inmates. Then he launched ConBody a prison style bootcamp that has gained over $7,000+ clients and hires formerly incarcerated individuals to teach fitness classes. Since the launch of his company, Coss has been featured in over 100 major media outlets such as NBC, CNN, The New York Times, and Men’s Fitness. He has also won major pitch competitions such as Pitch for Good by TOM’s shoes and the YPO shark tank competition, which in combine raised $200,000.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

I just got my first dui 5 days ago. My first criminal offense ever. I almost killed myself, and could've killed the other 2 individuals. This video makes me so humble. I haven't ended up going to court yet, but i wanted everyone to be so humble and appreciate for this precious gift called life.

I love his sense of humor. I am also checking out ConBody. When I was in the military many years ago, we also used our bodies in order to lose weight. It worked pretty well.

I watched his story on Vice then watched his Ted Talk! I love fitness and being in the gym but I love how he changed his life, after being a Huge Deal Boss in NY and now he is changing lives and Convic lives to help them!

Hey coss I like that name, I saw you on Rachel ray, you have a very inspiring story and I noticed when you said you prayed.I totally believe that GOD brought you to that point he has a purpose for you and if you follow after Him He will take where you never dreamed possible, and give you a life beyond boundaries. Trust in Him and He will give you the desire of your heart

S M nope. People stash their money in case they get locked up.

    • @theaccountant5846

@@kcirred1029 They do in some cases if they're lucky, but it usually doesn't last long. The last time I was incarcerated, I had about 200k at my mom's house that they didn't get. But 5 more years in jail it goes quick. As soon as I went in, I spent about 40k on a lawyer. 100$ canteen weekly, weed or tobacco whenever it landed (2000$ an ounce or 1200$ a bale of tobacco) so it adds up. Then you still have people that rely on you for money. When I was in jail, my gf told me the dog had cancer, so I paid 5k for the surgery, and it turned out it was just a deposit of fatty tissue. She later left me anyways, so she also stole about 3 grand. Money doesn't go far, especially blood money. I pray I never go back, and I've since cut all ties, educated myself, and I never will...
