    I'm a long time pistol enthusiast. My problem is I like alot of pistols. However, of all that I've owned and do own, the P226/ P229 are two of my favorites. Absolute masterpiece. I love the P226/P229. My P226 is reliable, durable, grip texture is great, and the trigger is one of the best. You are right that it's super fun to shoot. You go through so much ammo quickly if you aren't paying attention. If Sig ever makes a model with a lower bore axis (maybe a modern version of the Sig P210 with all the features of the P226), it would be the perfect pistol to me. Even with a lot of training (I probably shoot my Sig P226 and Walther PPQ the most out of all of my guns), I still can't do as well with those as I could with my gen 3 Glock 19.

      Me too. I just bought an elite “stainless” p229 the other day, with the wooden grips. I shot that side by side a rented p226 and p229. I love the modern legion versions too, which I’m familiar with as I own the p220 legion.
      For me main difference between the elite and the legion are the sights,(I prefer the modern sig sights), and the slide release. My thumb apparently hits the bigger one on the elite, at times negating the last round bolt hold open. On the legions they are smaller to help stop that I suppose. Now, I can simply place my thumb slightly away from the slide release now that I know what’s going on. Also the legion g10 grip texture is amazing. But while actually shooting, hard to tell the difference.
      At the end, I may add the legion p226 or p229. All the p200 series guns are unbelievable guns. The way they feel when shooting.

    Good review. I recently acquired a Legion P229 with a Romeo One red dot and I love it. The only problem with it is when I squeeze the trigger with the safety on. If I don't let go of the trigger, then bring the safety down, the safety goes back on when I release the trigger. That's the only gun that does that (of mine) and I have a lot of thumb safeties on guns. The red dot took some getting used to. After I learned it, I couldn't miss with the darned thing. 15 rounds into a three inch circle at 10 yards as fast as my local range would allow me to pull the trigger (1 per second). And I agree with you that this is the best gun Sig ever made.

I am actually thinking about getting one of these, if I can find one in the same configuration as his/ this one, instead of buying my next 1911... I have wanted a SA TRP for so long, and it’s taken me such a long time to save due to the covid crunch, but after handling and shooting the Sig it now has me up at night thinking about which way to go... I know, first world problems, but I’ve been saving for so long, and it will be a long time from what I can foresee, until I can save this amount again for a new gun purchase... I’m torn because I’ll need a bunch of mags for the Sig which is more money I’ll have to put into it, where as I have TONS of 1911 mags.... Shit..... What would Gun Ginger do in this case I wonder???

    100% agree! , “It is the best sig (pistol) ever made.” I have had sig mk25, sig p226 elite, and the sao legion and without a doubt prefer the SAO! The consistent trigger pull and the safety as a gas pedal like you referenced are my favorite things about it! I have big hands and always would ride the slide stop and not get the slide to stay back on empty. I tried multiple grips, but when this came out, boom! I used to shoot about 1,000 rounds a week through the p226’s for about 6 years and if all the pistols in the world were free I would choose this one ☝️. Great review!

    My 229 Legion RXP is my favorite pistol. High bore axis might exist but the way people lean on it like it’s a huge hinderance is a little much. It’s a quarter inch difference between this and a Glock 19 in terms of bore axis, not enough to have any real impact on how it responds to muzzle flip, put it 6” over where it is and now you’re going to see a difference but the quarter inch difference is almost nonexistent. That said Chris, you always do a great job and I appreciate your reviews and have purchased several pew pews based on your recommendations and have not regretted it save for maybe the Shield Plus that you raved about that I don’t think is all that nice a pistol. It does what it’s supposed to but overall it is lacking behind competitors in its class in my humble opinion. Still, the other 8 or nine guns I’ve bought after Outlaw reviews are spot on and gun performance is really subjective so what works well for one might not work well for another. Keep up the great work Chris, love your vids man

    The Sig P226 Legion SAO is by far my favorite. The fit and feel in hand is better than my Wilson Combat EDC-X9, which is "now" my second choice to carry. The trigger pull and reset is exceptional. Accuracy along with follow-up shots are easy to achieve with this Sig because of the weight and trigger pull. Definitely worth the extra price for what you get.

    I only have a Sig SP2022 that I bought for $350 back in 2014. I switched the polymer guide rail for a stainless I found on eBay for $10 ( I kept original spring ) and it helped with recoil. It turned the entry level Sig into a beast. Sig does make an extremely reliable gun. Love mine.

      @@rudrashakti108 is your legion sa only? What do you like better about the CZ?

    • @rudrashakti108
      @rudrashakti108 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JayyBird93 my legion is sa only. I like da/sa too like my p220, but was fascinated by that thumb safety. It’s very well placed, and super easy to manipulate. It helps me not hit the slide release on the last round so the slide always stays open on the last round. But, for defense, I would prefer being able to pre stage my finger on the da/sa trigger as I pull it out of the holster.
      The CZ is very flat shooting. That’s what struck me about it. And it is ergonomic, (though for me nothing beats a p226/p229 as far as how they feel), and it has a certain old European vintage look. And it’s also all metal with a hammer.
      Now, that safety it comes with is really atrocious, so I recommend always getting the decocker only.
      Anyway, Since I can’t conceal the p226 on my person at all with my slim waist, (say as opposed to a p229), I ended up buying a CZ 75 compact PCR, decocker only. I love that gun too. The p226 will be for home/ car /apocalypse-no-need-to-conceal defense, while that CZ will me EDC being smaller. Now as opposed to the full size cz it’s not as flat shooting, though I still like how it shoots. I enjoy shooting the p226 more than the cz compact, but the cz is simply more concealable. And My ruger sp101 is in my rotation for slimmer clothes.

    I have a p226 Legion DA/SA which I’ve put probably 10,000 rounds through. It’s been submerged in mud. It’s been dropped in sand. It keeps on working. I prefer polymer guns for EDC but when it’s time to look around the grounds after dark it’s the 226 that comes out. Same for when I go to the range. It’s my favorite firearm, followed closely by my P320 TacOps. // I’d love to have the SAO model, just to have the pair, but I’ll wait until the panic buyers cash out and get myself a nice used one.

The weight is okay for me because I’m a fairly big guy, my Walther PDP full-size and compact are for when I need to carry all day. And with regard to the bore axis argument that some people make with regard to the P226, I think if you train it becomes 100% a non-issue
