After 20 years of up and down golf the feeling of a baseball swing for me has changed everything! It took it from a chopping hack at the ball to an actual swing through the ball.
You probably dont care but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Corey Otto I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I was so frustrated on the golf course one day and just took what I thought was a HARD baseball swing at the ball with my driver. Dead straight 310+ yards and rolled off the back of the green 😂. Did it again almost same result but leaked off to the right. After I filmed it, I realized how much more shallow of a swing path I was taking. I worked out how to use my wrist and BOOM! I totally look like I know what I’m doing with a driver in my hand, but in reality I’m thinking “baseball swing” 😂
I've spent 10years developing this on my own . I played baseball from little league up to high school. Got into golf at 27 . Handicap at a 1.4 at the moment as low as 0.8. Its definitely been a grind for me 😳. This would've helped alot back then 😔
This comment is me rn. (I’m 26) I just started playing 2 months ago. Played baseball from tee ball to up to three year ago in town ball. Just figured this out the other day on the range. I’m a lefty also. Now the problem is, it goes straight but to the moon and almost stops like a iron at 250 yards. Loft is at 10 and draw setting on Callaway epic and stiff shaft. Do I need to drop to 9 degrees of loft?
Same!! I just wish I was a 1 handicap 😂 im about a 15 right now. He explains it perfectly in this video I always hit a slice or my balls out to the right and it’s definitely due to the open club face. I’ve always said that the only part of the golf. swing I can’t get is what to do with my wrists / when to throw my hands. Anyone know any good drills to get the hands in the right spot?
Using principles you teach I have transfomed my swing of 30 year's, now contact, consistency and power are relatively effortless! Hips have to be the most misunderstood followed by the sequencing of loading that creates the buildup of energy. Thank you
Finally someone talking about the hands!!! I’m a late opener of the golf club and am just starting to work on this it’s been a long road but I’m starting to hit the ball better after about 1 month!
As a baseball player that could it a ball 350 ft this is a game changer. I’m been try unlearn my swing rather than changing my wrist placement. Thank you
Subbed! This is the “secret” move I’ve been searching for quite some time. This video should have 2 million views if people knew what was good for them! This has got to be the most efficient way to swing a golf club. Can you apply this to wedge shots?
This video really clicked for me, watched it and went to the range and i was hitting the ball straighter and getting better contact. Felt a lot more comfortable
Have always had trouble generating speed and tinkered with my swing for awhile until I went to a modified baseball swing.. use it for my driver woods and hybrid and added a ton of distance with those and still use a conventional swing with my irons and wedges when I need more control
Milo, Watch the video Mike Malaska did this week with Goose Gossage. Shows how the club Face is the bat not the shaft. Is big breakthrough for me. This video helps by showing the baseball swing grip relationship.

Can you discuss the equivalent load and unload of the hands Milo. Ever since Charlie lau , batters have been taught to load and unload their arms and hands as well. In your baseball golf swing is there an analogue?
3:22 - do you not like the strong trail hand because the only way to keep it from flipping is to rotate a boatload? I have a really hard time playing with a strong left hand and a neutral right hand; my brain really wants my hands to match, and since a neutral left hand grip feels terrible to me, I've been playing with a very strong trail hand and just playing the ball in the middle of my stance so I can make impact before it flips over. Also - when I have tried to use a neutral trail hand, by trail hand palm puts a lot of pressure on my lead hand's thumb, to the point where it's painful.
the right hand needs to be feelwise like on top of the handle of the club. So a too strong grip would harden that task. For me a weak grip with the left hand helps me more than a strong grip.
Grip can vary based on the individual. The face needs to get matched up to the motion though. Baseball players tend to have the face too open when first picking up the game.
@@MiloLinesGolf I know it's a older video, but I also have a problem driving the ball. I can crush the baseball, but golfing has been quite weird for me. I can literally hit it left sideways (literally sideways like 20 yrds straight left lol. and or slice it to the right) I GUESS MY QUESTION TO YOU MILO IS WHEN I SWING BAT I KNOW ILL HAVE DIRECT CONTACT BECAUSE THE BAT IS STRAIGHT... DO I NEED TO ACCOUNT FOR THE CLUB, AND HOW WHEN WE HIT THE BALL WE'RE NOT HITTING IT WITH THE SHAFT BUT THE ACTUAL FACE OF THE CLUB. DO I NEED TO AIM THE SHAFT OF THE CLUB TO HIT BEFORE THE BALL A INCH OR TWO SO IT MAKES BETTER CONTACT AT THE CLUB FACE? i HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND MY QUESTION!
I’m 53 just turned to golf after playing baseball for a very long time. Closed stance and a neutral grip with faced closed a bit feels naturally to me. How do I get comfortable with the very strong grip?
Interesting video Milo! Love your content. I played baseball but unfortunately I was a first baseman who couldn't hit - lol Although one time I made an accidental swing change that proved effective. At bat, I thought the coach gave me the bunt signal, I squared to the pitcher to bunt and the coach yell...No No No bunt. By that time the pitch was on the way, I only had time to pull the bat back and swing from the squared bunt stance, and whacked a home run. I used an uber open almost bunt-like stance to bat with from then on. I guess the open stance kept my arms from straightening before impact. I realize I lost some power because the open stance was essentially starting at the impact position without the benefit of rotational motion force to get there...but it was powerful enough I suppose. I've long struggled in golf with straightening arms way too soon from a traditional stance. Maybe an uber open stance could work in golf as well?
I was wrecking that golf ball and your right at first I only got to the right I leaned quick my grip had to be tighter and straight and right arm straight I almost hit the guy driving around. I swear next I’m getting the ball over the net I was stepping tho with my lead foot I had to I feel like to hit it farther

It definitely depends on preference as well, for example, I’m 6’1 and need a bigger grip. I just went to the PGA Superstore and started feeling what felt good
Milo, great video as always.. I want to know what you think about the Malaska move ? I've watched lots of your videos, seems like you are very opposed to his moves. Do you think his move cause flip action through impact ? And lose lots of power ?
In every other sport we get the COM of the object we’re swinging behind us and pivot it around in a slinging motion. Tipping the club out is contrary to what an athlete does by nature and if a player starts the down swing by moving the handle down and club head out the club head will generally pass the hands before impact and the players chest will still be closed. I agree with Mr. Malaska on many topics but the tipping idea is one thing I don’t agreed with.
I think it is the same thing if you let your body tell you want to do and hold the bad hand over hand and hold the golf club with the right grip. Your body won't allow you to make the wrong move.
Golf is a different grip. If you use a Baseball grip and swing a golf club, you’ll never hit the ball cause your front shoulder throws you away from the ball. My gym teacher showed me that back in high school.
Still many who say the two movements are nothing alike, but I'd like to think there are some very similar patterns and with a few adjustments, the baseball swings can be utilized. Here's a series that could further help: milolinesgolf.com/watch-now-turning-your-baseball-swing-into-a-consistent-golf-swing-the-9-essentials/
So im wondering if golf has more "contact" hitters than home run hitters? In other words you are teaching people how to swing an "end loaded" bat. Why are people never offered "balanced bats"in golf? For example when kids start in little league its primarily balanced bats yet in golf "standard" sets are D2? The reason I ask is because if you tried to turn Rod carew, George Brett, Wade Boggs, EricDavis, Rickey Henderson into end loaded bat swingers their careers would have been very different. If you made pete Rose swing Aaron Judge's bat it wouldnt work yet in golf you try to force students to adjust to the club in their hands. Another example is swords-vikings swung heavy swords(big people) but samurai(much smaller stature) had Katana which were balanced. In all my years researching the swing and equipment nobody talks about high balance point clubs, counter balanced etc. Or is it your belief that in golf everyone should be home run hitters? I am convinced that the student makes micro compensations based on the tool in their hands and their intention. If you are trying to swing a hammer its much different then trying to slash with a sword etc.
