    I respect y'alls opinions. I personally loved it all the way through. I absolutely loved the dragons and the final battle. It's not without it's flaws, but I have this one ranked in the upper tier of the solo/origin movies.

    I was discussing with my wife. I brought up the yin yang elements, and the father's sacrifice. She said "I know. Add in the red/blue rings in place of light sabers, and you got Asian Star Wars." And I can't stop thinking about it.

    I personally really enjoyed the movie. It really did feel like a fun and unique movie in the MCU. It certainly wasn't without its flaws and the boys criticism is certainly valid, especially about the end fight sequence. I personally rank it in the top 3 solo origin stories behind Iron Man and 1st Avenger.

      i think the end fight was dope instead of some generic battle we got some cool ass dragons its still an mcu movie so we shouldnt be surprised with the end but this was way better than a lot of large mcu battles

    • @keithck3720
      @keithck3720 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SKULLKR3W I didn't think it was bad by any means. It was well done and looked good.
      My problem that the movie felt pretty small, intimate and personal that centred around the family drama/dynamic. They kind of dropped all of it for what seems like an out of nowhere CGI fest that's essentially meaningless. It was too jarring a shift for my taste.

    These films have young fans too and some of the deep parts of the story isn’t meant for them dwell on hence the breaks in tension. However special effects and big fight scene do appeal to them (and adults as well). They aren’t calling it CGI. They have a balanced and proven formula. Fantasy is going to involved what it always has.

    It reminded me of star wars...minus space and lightsabers...the father was like the Darth Vader type...he's more of a tragic figure instead of full villain, those voice were totally munipulating him. They even have a (with the sister) princess leia type-of-character, she's the spare incase things don't go well with male protagonist. Awkwafina was definitely the han solo type with her mad driving skills. I don't know if it was paying homage or ripping it off?....in the final act they went full MARVEL though!!!!

    I also thought the last conflicts didn't need a huge battle. I want more confrontations like the ones between the visions at the end of Wandavision. With our current climate, the theme of reaching a parent in denial could have touched people on lots of levels. Think.... Them convincing their dad that their mom is definitely dead and he needs to accept his guilt is like convincing your dad that Q is a fake conspiracy theory and you need to get him out of the rabbit hole.

    Script was terrible, leads had zero chemistry and couldn't act. As result you don't care what happens to the characters. Humour was like something from a teen comedy. Battle at the end looked cheap, could tell a mile off it was all done on sound stage. Saving grace was a good villain and wong cameos. But they even ruined abomination. Making a psycho monster into a sparring partner for wong and not bothering to give him any dialog. Very disappointing and a wasted opportunity to do something different in the MCU.
