    The movie was all about second chances and Andrew Garfield didn't take that for granted.

    This is a large serving size of soup.
    Andrew diving and saving MJ and Tobey saving Norman was so amazing to see. An awesome form of redemption for both of them. And Tom's spiderman can finally cast off that criticism of being iron man jr now that he's really on his own. Loved the movie

    • @kevinw712
      @kevinw712 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've already discovered from some other pages what I'd suspected, that I'm definitely in the minority on this (tho a small handful has agreed with me) that I came away with some mild disappointment in the level of conviction that Tobey brought to this movie. Yes across a couple very specific, small moments he totally brought what he needed to (the silent look he had into Tom's eyes while holding the glider up) but that ultimately he kind of just phoned in perhaps the majority of his performance here. MUCH to my surprise. Andrew Garfield, I bought his dedication every single minute. But for probably at least half his screen time, for me Tobey gave off a sensation he had little care to be there. Which is different than you as a character having an awkward disposition because of what's happening in the moment and not being thrilled to be stuck where you are.

    Gotta remind Teddy that we had been seen Tom Holland's Peter's Nerdy side. He was making web fluid in class in homecoming, he and Ned hacked the Stark suit, and Peter ran back the codes to that military door to open it up using probability. In far from home he used science to disrupt Mysterio's illusion.

    • @slowflowsen498
      @slowflowsen498 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      in this very movie, he beat Dr. Strange using geometry.

    • @iSOBigD
      @iSOBigD 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well he said the word geometry then did a bunch of CG nonsense lol.
      I wish there was more science stuff than saying the word then cutting to CG. They had this device that can print anything and you need no training for it? You just say "print a thing that allows me to control my tentacles" and it just does it. I just ignore anything science related because it's really just nonsense, and Tom Holland's spiderman made so many stupid choices over and over that he's clearly not the brightest spider around.

    • @jacobshear9354
      @jacobshear9354 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes he’s been nerdy af

  • @peteg475
    @peteg475 3 ปีที่แล้ว +36

    There were a lot of little things I liked, too. Like when Peter's nano-tech suit takes over control of the tentacles. To me, it was almost like Tony Stark was outsmarting Dr. Octavius from beyond the grave. Which was kinda cool. I know we got Iron Man and the Hulk out of it, but if these scientific geniuses stopped irresponsibly experimenting on themselves, we'd have a lot fewer supervillains. lol

    • @SRosenberg203
      @SRosenberg203 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That was cool, especially because at first I thought it was Octavius co-opting the nanotech to improve his tentacles, and I was like "oh shit, he's about to be way stronger." I loved that little surprised, when Peter is just like "Nope, I have control now."

    • @cosmicXtropics
      @cosmicXtropics 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The prime reason that was a good moment was that it shows how much technology has advanced not only in the in universe world but in real life too. Otto was in awe seeing it, like it was a mythical creature coming to life before his eyes.

    • @maunglay8833
      @maunglay8833 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this also play into Tony advancement over the year. The way he improved his suits after every encounters. So here Doc. Otto stole Peter nano tech and implemented into his own arms. Same way Thanos rip off a piece of Tony nano tech in Infinity War and stab him with it and causing a pretty huge damage. But in No Way Home, after Doc Oct stole Peter tech and proceeded to stab him with it, the nano pieces disappeared into Peter suit and didn’t gave him the stab wound. Yes it gave Peter some damage because Doc powerful arm but no stab wound.

    This was an origin story and it was spiderman's disconnection from the MCU. aunt may gave him the line he'll use going forward and the other spidermen taught him that vengence is wrong... when toby stopped him from killing green goblin, that destroyed me... no words, just that look

    A little moment I loved was when Doc Oc says “I should have killed your girlfriend when I had the chance” and we see the legs pop him out of the car so we know he immediately activated “instant kill” mode before he’s all “what did you just say” cause no one messes with his girl. That’s the first moment I felt his angry side on the movie

    Here's how I believe the new spell works in order to erase Peter Parker's existence from people's memory, while still having them remember Spider-Man.
    The new spell was cast to counter the old spell, which was bringing people over from the other universes who know that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. From my understanding, the old spell was bringing people who are pretty much doppelgängers to everyone of the MCU. In order to stop that, the new spell had to erase Peter Parker from everyone who lives in the MCU, not including the villains or the Peter Parkers who are already there, therefore eliminating the old spell and preventing them from coming over.
    Now, here's the explanation for why the MCU still remembers Spider-Man but not Peter Parker. All the spell did was erase Peter Parker's identity, not Spider-Man. While the world knew that Peter and Spider-Man were one and the same, there was a time before No Way Home when they didn't. All the spell did was erase their memory of knowing that the two were one and same, which is ironic as it also completes Peter's desire for the world to forget what Mysterio did. Anyway, everyone remembers Spider-Man from the moment he started before Civil War to the final moments of Far From Home, just before Mysterio revealed his identity. Also, assuming the spell reaches across the entire MCU and not just Earth, that also means no one remembers seeing Peter Parker's face during the events of Infinity War or Endgame.
    There! Did that help explain things a little better?

    This trilogy should be called “the stark internship” and will be viewed as the best 3-part trilogy origin story. Tom is about to do a 9 film stars-esqe saga all on his own at this point. And I’m not sure about the actual timeline but from civil war to infinity war is like 18 months, with homecoming happening in-between. Then he vanishes for 5 years, comes back sees Tony die, is mentally broken inside riddled with great responsibility, has severe trauma, tries to have a few months of down time in Europe gets totally hijacked comes home, finally has MJ but then what 2-3 months later the whole world forgets who he is.

    Tony taught Spider-Man to not rely on his suit and gadgets. “If you’re nothing without the suit, then you shouldn’t have it.”
    Aunt May taught Peter “that with great power must also come great responsibility.”
    Mysterio taught Spider-Man the value of keeping his identity a secret.
    You get it, Peter should constantly be learning from these people. There should always be a message we as the audience can take away from a Spider-Man movie.

    The ending to this movie is just so damn good. It’s sad that Peter has effectively lost everything and everyone, but it’s a complete and utter clean slate for his character overall it makes seeing him in the next team up movie more exciting because we will finally have classic Spider-Man.

    Man, flash in tasm1 (and his deleted scene in tasm2) IS comic book flash. For as little screen time he got, we got as much as we could of his full story in the tasm series. Flash in the mcu was nothing but comedic relief, there's was only one *small* scene of him in the entire trilogy that contributed to his character, that's it (Sorry for the tangent but I'm a huge flash Thompson/agent venom fan and the fact that I'll never get a comic book accurate flash for a LONG time sucks).

    I think the next trilogy will be the symbiote saga, and he will get the black suit halfway or at the beginning of the third act in the first movie with black cat being the antagonist but also a love interest for spider man while Peter is in college and he meets Gwen for his love interest when he is not Spider-man while still being in love with MJ, and the conflict can be Peter works with Gwen's dad while he is Spider-man and Felicia Hardy can work at the F.E.A.S.T. shelter, and then in the second movie Mr. Negative is the villain and he ends up leading Peter to get Gwen killed while in the black suit when sends him down a dark path, that black cat and MJ steer him out of and he gets rid of the black suit and Venom is the villain for the third one, and Peter finds out the Kingpin was forcing Black Cat to do what she was doing and he was Mr. Negative's boss, and he bribed Eddie Brook to slander Spider-man on the Bugle because Spidey was messing up his criminal enterprise

There was literally no reason for Sandman to become a villain again he had 0 motive whatsoever that made no sense. The lizard was also done a lil dirty as well. I take offense with y’all’s assertion that Tobey is the best Spiderman. Watch The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon and you will see why Josh Keaton is the best actor to portray Spider-Man. It is hands down the best adaptation of Spider-Man. All the characters have depth and are extremely comic accurate, while being evolutions of the characters. Spectacular has the best Gwen and MJ.
    My two issues with this movie are 1. No Uncle Ben tombstone. I like that May says the line, I’m just so upset that they refuse to acknowledge Ben’s existence. 2. I still hate that MJ is Michelle Jones Watson. When they called her Michelle I was fine with her, but they called her MJ at the end of Homecoming and it bothered me. Just call her Mary Jane from the start, all she needs is the red hair, and I know Zendaya can pull that off.

    The joy I felt when I saw Tobey, I felt like a kid again - haven't felt anything like that in a long time.

    My biggest criticism of this movie was, in retrospect, the trailer. It gave the whole plot away, it gave every story beat away, it gave Tobey and Andrew away. So while the emotional aspects of the movie work very well, there were really no surprises.

      That's more of a criticism of the marketing than the movie. I wasn't expecting nearly as much screen time with the heroes or the villians and didn't see Aunt May coming until the glider showed up. In the future, if you want to be more surprised, don't watch the trailers.

      @@lanceareadbhar That's true, the trailer is not a fault of the movie. But yes, the only real surprise was Aunt May. And while I agree that the only way to be truly surprised is to stay away from everything, what is also true is that there are some very good trailers that manage to hype the film and not give away anything. Once the hype of the movie dies down the trailer will be regarded as one of its worst aspects.

    Flash Thompson is actually a pretty major character in the comics these days, as Agent Venom, Anti-Venom, etc. So that’s what those Spider-Man fans were probably getting at lol.

      The problem isn't that he "lacks depth". It's that he's a completely different character.
      Comic book Flash is a football player. He's fast. That's why his nickname is "flash". Why is MCU Flash called flash? Because he's a DJ?

    There was a decent stretch of time during this movie when I felt like I was getting an odd vibe (and thus, suspicious of) from May. And partly because, not like I actively WANTED Mysterio in this flick (I was worried of it collapsing from weight as is), but I've always had so much trouble accepting he's legitimately dead. So when Peter arrives at the shelter and May's already deep in conversation with Norman, and she's the one who eggs Peter on into doing something more about all this, I started wondering if she was orchestrating having all these villains released from the dungeon put into one free place. That it wasn't actually May, essentially, she'd been some sort of projection by Mysterio for the whole movie thus far (the real her restrained somewhere, presumably). So when Peter starts to have that major, drawn out "spidey sense" moment in the apartment, especially saying her name, I thought for a second THIS is what he'd only just started to pick up on. And Mysterio was about to show himself.
    I'm perfectly glad I was way off here, though. It probably would've seemed too convoluted on top of how much else already going on. However, I will remain not entirely shocked if Goldfish Bowl Head does eventually make a re-entrance in the future.
