usually companies in china with lots of offices care about how you look in the workplace, so most women with a desk job usually wear sheer black tights, pretty makeup, their hair up, clean clothes and perfume.
I got an engineering degree and suffered no balding/grey hair while I was in college. Going bald from stress is not something that should be normalized
I think women and men actually always should care about their looks. Not to be the prettiest but looking clean hygienic and neat is important for people to take you seriously it means that you take yourself seriously
being clean when you leave the house is always a must and people who don't observe basic hygiene are a menace to society. perfect hair/clothes/makeup is pretty silly to me but I'm always gonna be clean.

Not caring much about appearances after a few months of working is a mood. But also, coloring your hair so the unnatural colors are invisible in a work friendly updo is absolutely genius!
I’ve been at my job for 11+ years now, and at first, it was a full face of makeup, carefully styled hair, cute clothes…now, the best my coworkers get is like one step above my messy at-home appearance. You really do stop caring after enough time😅
I’ve had my hair in a high ponytail or bun for 30 years. Added a hat with a hole for a high bun two years ago and love it. No more bad hair days. They’re all the same
My hair is always amazing. Not a flex, just a fact. I have alopecia, so together with treatment, I take a lot of care with my hair (naturally curly) in order to prevent breaking and falling out. The result is always good looking hair. People actually compliment me on that, 4 years studying together and my hair always look great. Yay.
Back when I was in Uni my sister and her friend came to visit me and they wanted to audit a class to get the "college experience". They both turned to me very seriously and asked how they should dress if they wanted to "fit-in." I told them that since it wasn't the first week of school no one was putting any effort in anymore. And dress like they would if they were planning to sit on the couch and binge 4 hrs of Netflix. They though I was joking, but then I reached for a hoodie and put my hair in a messy bun and they believed me 😂 They did end up fitting right in, lol
