I would be interested in hearing more of your thoughts on Fix it Grammar vs. the Good and the Beautiful Grammar. We use Fix It along with IEW Writing. Thanks CJ for sharing about how things are going - you are my inspiration to continue Homeschooling as we move towards the High School years!!

I was having issues with pushing back our "family work" each week last year and I decided that no matter what I would protect my calendar on Mondays and Tuesdays (especially the mornings). I don't schedule anything out of the house on those days (or just the mornings if needed) and it has worked beautifully. Enjoyed this update! Thanks!

Change is always good even if it feels temporarily uncomfortable in the beginning. But there is alwsys good lessons to learn.😊

I only schedule appts on Thursdays. So when they scheduler asks “what day is good for you” I’ll always say, “you next opening for Thursday afternoon.”
Pick your day and time that works for your family and that day is doctor day.

I had a terrible experience being homeschooled but it was my parents fault. Actual structure rarely happened and a lot of it fell on us kids to find our own curriculum and teach our younger siblings. I didn’t learn to read until I was 9 - not for lack of wanting to, it was just something I didn’t have help with for a long time until my siblings helped me.
It’s so nice seeing homeschooling under the context of parents who care and who are so intentional as you are being. I love to see it ❤ you seem like such a good mom.
You had to overcome significant homeschooling obstacles like another friend that I know. It sounds like you are on the other side and stronger as a result of it. Thanks for the kind words.🥰 🌻

We’ve made some curriculum changes too. Still working on finalizing those changes. It can be so challenging to get back into the swing of things after the holidays.
It is so hard. Right now we are also trying to get back to healthy sleeping patterns after the holidays. 🌻
I was considering taking a break from Fit it Grammar for different reasons for each of my kids. I still love using the program, though. Will look out if you give an update on those changes in the future. I hear you about the outsourcing! Hmm, I never looked into the Well Trained Mind online programs but have used many of their Language Arts resources. Will have to look into that more. Considering an online option for Algebra 1 next year. The timing of the doorbell and water running, lol. Great video and thanks for sharing! 💙
Burnout is real. I was burnt out last semester. I decided we are not adding anything else this spring except for our normally scheduled piano and speech.
