So exciting!! My boyfriend bought a home in Calumet Grove this month, and I have visited a few times already and I love it there!!! I only live 2.5 hours away, so that is nice. I hope one day...wink, wink to live there, IF he hurries up and proposes!! lol.

We recommend BEING AT CLOSING or you don’t get that “cute picture by the names of those that closed sign”…we didn’t realize this and saw it a very small window of days on the sign(like 1-2 days).

We LOVED the person they assigned us and he would call and tell us the next steps and then schedule his next phone call and he was on the time every time. They have every single question ready to answer…they’ve thought of everything. We’re snowflakes right now BUT…not sure for how long…we’re sooo excited to get back. Congratulations on your new home and becoming Villagers!!! Our first closing experience in early August 2022 (Village of DeLuna)was a virtual closing because we were on the interstate coming from Washington State, so it was a bit different from yours. When we got here we went to Brownwood to pick up our keys and got our IDs. The next day we had our walk through with our builder and that is when they began the clock on our 7-10 day cosmetic punch list. Our second closing in March of 2023 (Village of Newell) was very much like yours as we were here. We had our pre-closing walk thru with Villages Warranty directly as our builder was out in paternity leave and then we went to closing at Brownwood. They are so professional and sure do make closing as fun as possible. FYI…This week be sure to reach out to a home inspector to schedule your one year home inspection about a month to six weeks before your home warranty expires. The good ones book up very quickly.

Basic build allowing all price points to be available. You’ve had an opportunity to select what’s most important such as the sun’s direction toward your living space.
Absolutely! Lot location was a top priority for us. We can change the decor or build options later if we want but we can’t change the direction of the sun. So far we are really happy with our decision. Thanks!

I am so happy and thrilled that you have officially became a villager! Everything seemed to go so smoothly. I visited my cousin last winter in the village of Richmond and was very impressed and will be back again this winter for a visit. We have been snowbirds for 12 years now (NE Fla) but I cannot convince my wife to make the commitment and move! I am hoping that seeing your happy faces will help change her mind. We sat on lawn chairs for 4 months waiting for furniture to arrive.
Some bathroom fans are two speed. If you discover that your's are not keeping up switch it over to high speed.
Peel the stickers off of your water heater before the heat deteriorates them and they're almost impossible to remove.
The rain sensors are so-so. It's much easier and more economical to use a Rachio system. Ours paid for itself in water savings in less than a year.
We have no carpet and the echo was terrible but as you said it gets much better when furniture and other sound absorbing items are added.
Cody's is always good, one of our favorite places to hang out for sure!

You should take a look at the video that Jerry & Linda made with Michael that they put up a few days ago. He also bought a patio villa a year ago. He made some excellent upgrades to it in order to expand his storage etc.

We just came across your videos. During COVID we started watching another channel. You both fit our lifestyle better and are disappointed we are out of your videos. We are seriously considering the Villages in the future. We live in Massachusetts my teacher and husbands bar license are in Massachusetts and do not offer the flexible for working remotely. We are considering a lifestyle visit and buying now and renting. We always thought we wanted to be on the ocean. Since we have a beach house on Cape Cod and the recent issues on the Florida coast have us rethinking that decision. We want amenities versus a beach. Since you have travelled to so many places what brought you to the Villages over other options.

Congratulations!!! That is awesome. I remember your journey during the purchase of your Tiffin and how much fun that was. Showing the process really makes it easier on those that may be apprehensive. Do they allow you to bring in your own third party home inspector before purchasing. I wasn’t sure if I missed that in your purchase process.

I can feel your enthusiasm. Followed you guys for a bit RVing. Disney travels I got bored so didn't follow for awhile but thought of you all. NOT SURE ABOUT THE villages really. Congrats. We close soon so this was very helpful for us! We are in the same boat getting furniture etc so it is exciting. We were torn between an Emerald and a Cottage and went Cottage but love the Emerald!

@@MichaelTiffanyTVE Thanks should be fun! I have a quick question for you. I noticed your refrigerator is the two doors with the freezer on the bottom which we love, but it seems like every house there has the side-by-side. How did you get that fridge??
Most houses that we have seen have the side by side refrigerator. I guess we lucked up on our fridge. I think they ran out of the side by sides for a while and substituted with the one we have in our kitchen.
