You can sew this by hand. You just want to make sure you use a zig zag stitch on the seams if you're sewing by hand or machine so that the threads don't break when the material stretches. Also, if you don't want to use velcro down the back, you can use a ladder stitch to close it. This is what Sideshow and Hot Toys uses to close up the body suits, as it hides the stitching and closes it up nicely. Keeping it from popping itself open when you pose the figure.
Thank you for sharing the video, as I extract enough from it for my new quarantine project. Thank you for sharing the knowledge. From Chile cordial greetings.
Thank you both for this video. Using the method/steps provided in this video I was able to get really good at this and started getting my suits/clothing for my 1\12 scale figures pretty much perfect by the third time I made one of these body suits. Thanks again

I do hand sewing first for check the fitting. I have been sewing lycra and material stretch for more than 30 years. Buy yours is very good I should fold the neck in a half is too wide.
You guys did such a great job on this topic. I learned a ton to proceed with my 1/6 scale figure clothes. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
yeah, do you have any other videos making samurai armor for your action figures because I play monster Hunter and my character is a samurai. Do you have any suggestions? Can use creating some samurai armor for my action figur
@@wangdennys i dunno.. im worried about the stitches if it will affect the articulation since its a smaller cale... what glue do you use? maybe its better to use glue instead of sewing in a smaller scale/
Does the strip of velcro along the back prevent the action figure from bending over or rounding his back? Since the velcro probably cant stetch, would it be a good idea to cut multiple tiny squares instead of one long straight piece? The gaps between each tiny square of velcro might give enough space for the fabric to stretch for bending over and ab crunches and hunched backed positions. The velcro squares would act like vertebrae on a spine so the velcro wont block the fabric stretch and figure articulation. What do you think would that help??
hi, you mean. that you want to mod the material for medicom new 52 batman? if i am not mistaken, the suit is screen printing to give the rubber like texture. as long as you can see the fabric fiber on the inside, then you can. although it could be pretty difficult. with the risk of tearing the screen print on the material
Hello Dennys, Does the thickness of the thread and type of stitch matter? I read that it is best to use zig zag stitch for stretch fabrics. Does the sewing machine needle need to be different? I read that some stretch fabrics may require a double needle to penetrate the fabric. Also I have seen a 1/6 figure without any stitching on the neckline. Instead of cutting a hole and sewing the neck piece, is there a way to stretch the body fabric around the neck and sew it in the back so no stitches show from the front? I want to try to make a spiderman tbleague/phicen with very few stitch lines. Do you have any advice? Thank you for the great tutorials.
The easiest answer to all your question is. Do it first Don't over think too much I use regular sewing machine, regular stiching The no stich on neck is different pattern from this one
