The white fabric looks like a nylon blend knit. Probably has a little poly and definitely lycra. Another good fabric to try would be to cut up some tights. You should add a little fray check to those exposed raw edges like the cuffs. Small knits like these are usually pretty good about keeping intact, but sometimes they'll get runs and it can ruin the piece. Since it's most likely a plastic fiber, you could also melt the ends with a lighter or candle. Practice on a scrap fabric first, so you don't accidentally burn it or melt the wrong part. Tip for working with tiny cut out parts, you can use a bit of tissue paper to stabilize the fabric while putting it through the machine. Then when you're all done stitching it up you can just tear away the paper. Hello from the doll side of customizing! This was a good video, glad you had fun with it.
Wow! This is an epic comment!! Really appreciate it. I need to check out Hobby Lobby again and find the fabric, but what you said sounds correct. I will definitely look at adding fray and experiment with melting the ends. Tissue paper tip sounds amazing too!
Ball point needles are recommended for knits and stretchies because sharps can catch the fibers and cause skipped stitches on these types of fabrics. Yours looks great but I thought I'd throw that out there just in case anyone else has trouble with that.
@@amusingking They have dull points that pass around the synthetic fibers in knits when the sharps would stick into the fibers and push the fabric into the machine. If that happens the bottom bobbin thread can't connect with the top bobbin thread and it skips that stitch. Most/all manufacturers should make ball points to match their machines.
Great video, what kind of figure is that you are using? I've never seen a clear action figure before. Oh yea and if you want to glue fabric they make fabric glues they are a bit stinky but they are stretchy and flexible, you can also use barge contact cement to glue fabrics. Hope that helps in future projects :)
Thanks so much! It's from Damtoys. I think his name is Candyman. Yeah, I do have some fabric glue, but always get impatient using it lol. But definitely need to give it another chance.
Could you try to discover what that stretchy fabric is? I’m working on a custom ghost rider and a light grey version of that material looks perfect for his trousers.

Agreed. I'll take a cloth cloak or cape over a pool plastic piece any time. I'm looking at you Kenner Darth Vader and Leia!
Haha! Nice. Are those two really bad?

Thanks! And nice, I’ll definitely check that out. What’s different about ball point? Any machine can use them?

Are you able to make a tutorial on a tunic? I want to make it for Dr. Doom and can't find any good tutorials.
Oh wow, I recently saw a knight's tunic that made me want to try and make one! I'll see what I can do.

Planning to try this to make a custom Thragg 🙏🙏
Yo nice! That sounds good. Let me know how it goes or if you have any questions!🙌🏼
Good tutorial. I am considering doing some capes for LOTR figures, so this helps.
Man, you'll be doing soft goods on 1:1 figures before you know it 😜
Capes and LOTR are the best🔥 I definitely want to work on making better capes. And would be down to make a cape for myself as well 😂😂
Excellente vidéo merci pour le partage j'ai essayé avec du fils et une aiguille ✌
You’re welcome! Hope it works out; let me know how it goes🙌🏼
How do you get armour over the top
Depends on the armor. I’ve used Velcro, super glue, and elastic straps.
@@amusingking thanks for the response man I’m gonna try and make a storm trooper thanks for the inspiration
Sweet! That will be cool. I recently finished the Fox figure mentioned in this video. Going to do a video of how I put him together soon.
@@amusingking sick I’ll deffo watch

Probably a nylon blend knit. There's definitely some lycra in the blend, but who knows if it has polyester or rayon or something in it too.
I haven't had a chance to check it out at Hobby Lobby. I'm thinking a nylon blend like Sharm said. Will post as soon as I confirm something.
👍 💯!!!
🔥🙌🏼
what figure do you use to draw around the fabric.
The brand is Damtoys and I think the name is Candyman.
@@amusingking thanks
