- Choose the right size in your football boots! Do you have wide feet or just in general find it hard to find the right size in your new football boots? Today, JayMike will help you out in finding the right and proper size so you can know which length to get and also which width to get if you have wide feet. We all know it, and we all hate it - getting the wrong size when we buy a new pair of football boots. Getting the right size is imperative to getting the best playing experience and getting the most out of your boots. So how do you do it? Today, JayMike talks you through how to get the right size and the best fit in your Nike, adidas and PUMA football boots. What you want to do is to measure your foot length and width to get to know your true size and which fit to look for in your new football boots - if you know how long your foot is but have a very wide foot, you won't be able to fit into slimmer football boots such as the Nike Mercurial Vapor 11, the Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 or the PUMA evoSPEED SL. Some people would then choose to go up half a size which you shouldn't as your boot should sit close to the foot in the length. Instead, choose a football boot that is naturally a wide football boot such as the PUMA evoPOWER Vigor, the PUMA evoTOUCH Pro, the Nike Hypervenom Phantom 3, the Nike Magista Obra 2, the Nike Magista Opus 2, the Mizuno Morelia 2, the adidas Copa Mundial, the adidas X16+ Purechaos and the adidas ACE17+ Purecontrol.

I live on the US west coast and access to Mizunos are next to impossible for me but just yesterday I pulled the trigger and ordered some Morelia Pro II's from the Unisport Store, my first time doing so actually. It took me about 2 hours staring at size conversion charts online and deciding what size to get as the Morelias are traditionally-styled boots which may require me going down half a size for the best fit after break-in. I ended up measuring my foot like what Jay did here and now i'm hoping for the best. Returning will not be an option for me as the trip from Denmark to California one-way is already dreadfully long of a wait in itself.

I bought my first leather boot (Mizuno Morelia Neo II MiJ) in July 2016 and I've just found out that it's one or a half size to big. Maybe that's why I dont love em... But I really don't think this website is very precise either...
Unisport i normally like my toes to be right up in the end of the boot so i tend to go down half a size and then went and bought the og hypervenom 2 the same way.... the pain oh god the pain
the stupidest thing I've done with a boot was when I was younger I had a pair of predators I really loved and I didn't want to let go of, so recently I took it to a guy who does shoe stuff and paid him to saw off the front part of the boot and the front sole plate and add the parts of a bigger boot to the front and glue it so it would fit me again.sadly I just ended up with a boot cut in half. Would appreciate it if I could get a new pair of boots.

I bought a half size up think my foot would grow that much in 5 months before the new season
I tried my first TF without football socks on but with ghost socks on and my first match was a real pain in the ...
when I was small my dad used to get boots 2 sizes up for me and he said that my feet will grow. And to cover the 2 sizes I had to put two insoles in.
I bought hypervenonma year ago and when I came home, I thoguht that they were big (EU46) and went half a size. My feet are pretty much wide, pretty much... It hurt a lot and I could only wear them in 10 or 15 training sessions then I put them back in their box. They are still looking new over a year :D

I've had 3 pairs of boots this season, all thanks to sizing. Ordered some hypervenom 3s in 9.5us showed up in 9.5UK, so i sold those and got superfly 5s which gave me about 5 blisters per foot per game, so i sold those and have finally found happiness in evoPOWER vigors. :)
I bought a predator 18.2 im usually a size 8.5 to 9 and i bought 8.5 and the toe area has a bit of space and i bought it online so no pre sizing or putting it on before hand. Anyhow, it is kind of my first (somewhat okay boots) i was wandering of thats gonna do any trouble before the season. Its about 1/4 of an inch space left. Any feedbacks?
Edit. This cleat is also really tight. But just a little room on the toe area.

I bought the maestri iii in my usual size 42 and didn't know they run half a size small. Well, i figured it out the hard way, when my nails got black after a few sessions, because I forced my feet into the boots not being honest to myself.
A year later I gave them another chance, after I did the hot water trick and switched the insole with a thinner one.
And what a surprise: black nails again. Silly me...

@@skils_22_ There is nothing that you can really do. Eventually, it will stop hurting and won't distract your game. However, you will have to live with a black nail for the next 3-4 months. This is how long it takes for your body to generate a new nail underneath. At some point, the black nail will fall off and it will be normal again.
What you can do is to make a few wholes with a heated needle to reduce pressure and pain.
And learn from your mistakes
It's really helpful i don't have to through it after a day.
I have a pair of Umbro leather cleats hand stitching upper body to the sole which helps your boots don't de-glue in the heat or rain. I am playing in them for ten years and still going. Didn't fit right at first but after few games in the rain, the leather just moulded and stretched to the size of my feet. They are now so comfortable like a second layer of my feet skin. Will never switch to another brand.

I play occasionally before, but in the last two years, I played in two leagues.2006, I played 9 months and through the whole raining Winter season in Vancouver, BC. I am playing two games a week since the start of the Summer and still going. Glue, leather and seams are still intact. Umbro is the name, don't throw your money away with Adidas, they last about 6 months.

Hey Unisport so I need some help here, I need new boots before next season.I have had predators, Evopowers and nitrocharges and I think Puma is the way to go. I have wide feet and im not really sure if im flat footed too but my question is that if Evotouch are as good as Evopowers in terms of fit? Powers were very comfortable and I want to try Touch.

I am in a bit of a weird situation. In Nike I am a size 11 UK or 46 EUR in all types of football boots but when it comes to Adidas size 11 UK fits for FG boots but not for indoor. I had to get a size 12 for Adidas indoor football boots which are 30 cm, the same as the Nike 11 UK size
I saw a pair of Adidas Ace 16.1 primeknit on clearance for $60 they didn't have my size 11 U.S so I went up to a 12 U.S and for the first few practices, they killed my foot arch until I added another insole
I bought a pair of Adidas 15.1 Primeknits but I only tried on the left boot in store so when I used them it took a couple sessions to realize the right boot was way too tight. And I wasted my money.

I wear a size 8 US (41).. should I get a 7.5 US (40 2/3) or 7 US (40) I actually got two pairs, 7.5 and 7 and the 7.5 fit perfectly but I still have room in the toe area however, the 7 fits perfect but its a little too tight. It is kangaroo leather and it will stretch but my my biggest concern is that how much will it stretch? Will the 7 stretch enough to be comfortable? I tried it on with running socks not soccer socks.. Yo unisport, I saw your best five boots for wide feet and I saw you placed the vigor 1 on the top so I bought them but I have really wide feet, like REALLLLLY WIDE FEET, I think the widest feet in the world, even tho the vigor 1 are less painful then other boots that I’ve tried they still hurt, dyou have any advice for me ... thanks
I recently bought a mercurial superfly 9...every training or match is a torture. Previously, I try with speedportal, but feels very narrow. According to width chart, my shoe is medium. Now, I will go for Puma ultra ultimate and see if they feel better. I don't know why brands believe every speedster has to have narrow feet!

Help! I have very wide feet! But short in length! (L 25.5cm W 12cm) I cannot find a suitable indoor or outdoor boot for my feet! I’ve had the Nike Tiempo academy indoor boot in a uk 8, good fit, half a thumb gap at the toes however since needing a replacement the new Nike Tiempo academy does not work for my foot any more! (Same size as before gives me over a thumb gap at the toes, a size down - perfect at the toes however my foot over hangs the edges) can you suggest a couple of indoor and outdoor boots that might be suitable as I’ve tried most boots now and I’m struggling 😅
im a size 6 but when i tried on some mercurials that were size 6 they were very uncomfortable and i had to crunch up my toes in order to not feel any pain. Therefore i bought 6.5 and theres a bit of space in the box. Whats some advice that can help?
bought the hypervenom phantom 2 (with the shit-upper) in the same size as my magista... length is acceptable but the toebox is super wide and im sliding around a bit, so on my big toe it starts to hurt besides my toe nail... :( sucks

Pops always told me to get my boots true to my size couse they will break in later i wear 8.5 & i did a mistake in getting 9.5 they felt like they fitted in stores but once the 9.5 got broken in,it was over they felt way to big my foot was sliding in the boot NO BUENO

I went up a size and a half to fit my feet on some boots, cause they were too uncomfortable but they caused me blisters on my big toes which then turned into blisters full of blood which I don't know how they are called. I still get them even tho I use the right size. could it be because I have flat feet?

Spray a mist of cold water, I played few times in the rain, let them dry and shrink, wear them again. They are now the most comfortable cleats, after 30 minutes game when my feet expanded, they fit in like second layer skin. I use Umbro.

I hate that it often seems like the brands only increase the shoes length with size, but not their width. Once you get to Size 47 EU shoes can have really strange proportions.
My wide feet barely fit the Nike Tiempos and I got the superfly 5 half a size to small. Ouch
I came across this video while searching for how a soccer cleat is supposed to fit after measuring my own foot. What a coincidence that my foot length is exactly the same as yours - 24.7cm! I took that as a sign that I found the right video :P. My foot width is 10.8cm though, so it's pretty wide.

Got mercurial futsal shoes the same size as my elastico pro's... turned out that i had a two thumb gap between my toe and the tip of the boot but I still tried playing in them and even experimented with insloes and what not... ended up with an ankle injury...

I don't know how to use the sockliners that came with my Messi 16.1's. I don't know if you're supposed to slip them in on top of what's already in the boot, or take out the sole that's already in and then put the sockliners in... Sorry if it's a stupid question I just don't know how to use them...

I just bought Nike Gt Elites which are meant for wide feet but 8.5 was quite restricting so I went for 9.5 and got horrible blisters after my first training session.
I had the future z1.3s for only a few months but then started getting pretyy bad toe pain which still hasn't healed in over a month as my toe was pushing out of the boot on the side and even deformed the boot slightly. This was a 9 so logically, I went up half a size but it was only later that I realised this boot wasn't quite for wide feet so I got gt elites, and they have a tiny bit of room on the front and don't provide the same lockdown I got with the future z fusion band so my heel came out with some pretty bad blisters after about an hour and a half of training.
