    Dave, you "crack" me up. Great tip, and great tutorial as usual. You and the RVgeeks are my go to for Class A tutorials. Thanks.

    These huge windshields are rock (or any other road debris) magnets. I typically use a repair service but I see the wisdom in getting a kit to make a faster fix. Great post Dave.

    I was concerned about the vertical windshield on my RV; RainX said, in response to my question, "we do not recommend our kit for vertical windshields".... Good to see you were able to make it work, and based upon your video, I'm going to give it a try! Thanks!

    When the glass shop did a repair for me they heated the glass first. A hair drier would work. Of course they pulled on the glass to open the crack slightly. Off to order my kit(s). Thanks so much David. Love your channel.

      Ah yes, heating the glass would help to draw in the resin as it thin's it out some. I have done this also in the past.

    Great post - and the subtitles really made everything sound very dirty. Way to have RV windshield repair make your mind go into the gutter.

    Thanks for sharing! I was not sure how well those kits really worked. I would like to see the complete finished product, with going back over it as you said. When you go back over the area...will it cover what little bit that's left (the small crack that's still there,right before you ended the video?)I always learn so very much from all your videos! Thanks again David!

      Hi...Can no longer see the chip at all, the fine crack is not really noticeable unless you look for it. It looks like that only based on how the light hits it. Same for any professional repair.

    I have a nice crack in my windshield and some stone chips. I may try this on my old windshield just for the practice before it gets replaced. It looks like it works. I have heard of other DIY fixes, tried em - did not work.

    One quick question..............If you would happen to have a window tint on your front window ( Yes I know it is illegal) How would that fix affect the Tint ?

    • @DavidBott
      @DavidBott  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do have tint and tint goes on the inside, not outside. So no issue at all.

    I don’t find these (base) jokes humorous.....in the older days (everyone) would dismiss this immediately and buy or like elsewhere especially those with upstanding character...

    go to a service your insurance company will pay for it and it wont effect your policy

    • @DavidBott
      @DavidBott  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very true, except if you are somewhere you can not get service and thus can run into the issue of the chip expanding which I mention.

  • @MrGlasstech

    you need to get all the air bubbles out of the break or it will not repair correctly. these cheap kits dont allow for that process.

    • @DavidBott
      @DavidBott  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Never had an issue. Part of the process is to pull back on the plunger to extract air. Surely not like a vacuum system, but I have not had any issues thus far.
