DIY Jewelry-Make Your Own Chains Part 2! Great For Bracelet Designs!

  • In this video I go over 3 more chains that I will make. This time I use them primarily for bracelet designs but you can use them for necklaces as well!
    Tools Used:
    Round Nose Pliers-Swanstrom
    Chain Nose Pliers-Swanstrom
    Flat Nose Pliers-Swanstrom
    Chain Nose Pliers-Swanstrom
    Flush Cutters- Swanstrom
    5/16" Wooden Dowel (8mm)-Horseshoe Chain
    1/4" Wooden Dowel (6mm)- Jump Rings
    1/8" Wooden Dowel (5mm)
    Materials Used:
    Horseshoe Link Chain:
    20 gauge coated non-tarnish brass wire (Artistic Wire Ltd.)
    Jump Ring and Figure 8 Chain:
    16 gauge round sterling silver wire from Monsterslayer.com
    18 gauge round sterling silver wire from Monsterslayer.com
    Split Ring Chain:
    18 gauge round bare copper wire from Parawire.com

    I love your work; your so confident when you're working, sometimes you might go out of view but we try and get the gist.
    I had this video saved and didn't remember that I had it and I made horse shoe links but I coiled some wire and slipped that onto the wire and then I bent it as you said to make the shape and then I linked them all together I ❤ the Swan link and so will be Adding that to my collection of bracelet and necklace clasps.

    Very nice. U can hammer the loops and hooks to work harden to make them even harder even though ur using 16 gauge wire. Adorable 🐶

      I think it was in this video where you made the head pins, I tried making some before. When you throw stuff in the tumbler so you use a little water and dish washing soap?

      @@ZurickDesigns is the secret messing with copper...to use tarnish resistant coated wire....to prevent skin turning green? Cause I have tried alot of things as a protective coating and nothing seems to work

    Do you know how to make thin wire guage,Guage, solder them together? It looks so much prettier for dainty feminine bracelets and others
    I hate buying store bought small chains.

      No problem!
      The sterling and copper are supposed to be dead soft. The brass seems to be on the harder side. It was a lot harder to work with!
      I like dead soft!

    Love your videos as they are very clear! Do you not receive customer complaints as wire edges may catch on clothing because the bracelets are not soldered? Would appreciate your feedback on that. Thnx

      I haven’t gotten any and I haven’t noticed a problem wearing them myself.
      I’m very particular about my rings being closed and I also check with my fingers to feel for snags.
