18 Guage is my favorite for me also ..thanks for reminders how fu making chains are ! I'm 74 and have been wire working for a very long time ..I'm serious about getting my wraps perfect and my loops perfect! Lol
I’m so grateful to see your work worn hands. I always feel deficient when i see beautiful manicured hands in tutorials, cuz my hands look like yours when i’ve been working alot. 💗
Mine are manicured but Super ROUGH..A woman from my church went to shake my hand and when she did she pulled away disgusted..I just said I know sorry ..I gave man hands working with wire all day ..sheesh..
Thank you for showing the basics of twisting wire. I’m very new at this, yet don’t have great hand strength. With the tools and power tools, I can do this. Thank you for getting back to beginner status.
I am new to wire wrapping and I had no idea I could make my own spring rings 😮! Then you went on to make a chain! I guess I just didn’t think of making them myself. Thank you so much 😊
Very busy chains ! The coil chain ,maybe use a one step looper . It would make it faster and your sure to get your loops even and not waste your wire .😊😍💖
Great ideas, but I think you have the patience of Job! Those types of links would frustrate the hell out of me!! Thank you for sharing. Those coiled links and the jump rings - Aaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhh!!!! Too fiddly for me!! Lol I really admire your perseverance though! I love the figure eights with the S's. Lovely! ❤️
i know its late but i just was cleaning up my kitchen, and i ran across your you tube channel your chains are beautful . I subscribed I make jewelry also very good designs.
I have mostly 24 gauge so after prep I wrapped my wire and nylon hammer or rawhide a lot ! Since watching your lovely video’s! 🤟🏻❤️🥰Thank you for all you do ...
I love those chains. They all would come in handy. For myself I love the swirly one at the end, so feminine. I’m going to try that one. Thank you so much. I subscribed.
I very much enjoy your videos. I am working on getting more ideas for self made chain vs. store bought, so much more interesting and customizable. Thank you for teaching us how to do, I enjoy learning from you, it pays to have a good teacher who shows how to do, not just does. Let 2022 be a year of moving forward for the better, best of wishes to you :)
Hello! I just found your channel and I’m learning lots. I am a Chainmail jewelry maker, and until now I was buying pre made jump rings. With your wire tips and tricks I’m excited to try making some of my own components
You need a double flush cutter. Much faster. One cut and both sides are flush! Perfect for jump rings. Xuron has a decent inexpensive one but the tips are thick.
@@ZurickDesigns I used to have a really good one I picked up at the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee years ago but I lost it. The Xuron one is decent but I loved the one I lost. If I remember which booth I bought I from I will let you know.
Also, if you don’t have a pair of tweezer nose Xuron pliers, do yourself a favour and get a pair! They fit in all the tiny places you can’t reach. Some wire workers use them more than any other plier for all wire working.

Lately i have searched for on youtube a tutorial on how to use Bullion Wire which is a fine Decorative wire which has been crimped in to a shape like a tube and it has a round thin channle running through its center core for slipping the decorative Bullion wire on to a lenght of your base wire, after cutting off a lenght, it has many uses and is very stunning to look at, its surface is incredibly shiney in silver wire with a 3D illusion zig zag pattern. after searching on youtube i did not find one single tutorial for how to use Bullion Wire. do you know anything about Bullion Wire? have you ever used Bullion Wire before? thank you for sharing your video tutorial. Hello I'm new to your channel and I really like the chains you made it awesome I have never tried making my own chain before so thank you for sharing this
Awesome stuff! Im new to the wire wrapping world but 1 question I have is when you said you put the links in the tumbler...what's that purpose for? Just always thought tumblers were for stones and rocks. I hope you have a blessed day
Beautiful 😍 awesome idea to make a head to have ready to use to use for other jewelry creations. Thank you for sharing this with me and your many talents. Happy New Year to you and your cute fur pup.
I LLLOOOOVVVVEEEE this S00000 a much! Are there any chain links that can be made with the wire " tails" somehow being wrapped around itself/each other/ the "frame" of the link/etc to make for a more secure link?? And also to finish off the end without worrying about them (tail ends) coming undone or opening up on the person wearing the piece?? I'd love to see some links/chain making tutorial(s) with that style of link! PRETTY PLEASE - WITH A CHERRY ON TOP?? Mahalo & Aloha Nui Loa!! Esp. for ALL of the inspiring and gorgeous projects that you've kept free.
Hi Melissa, thanks for doing these videos, they're very helpful! just one question, how do you tumble your chains so they don't get all tangled? Thanks and best wishes! 😊🍎❤
I love love love your chained art work! You're a natural tutor and I'm learning so much! I do have a question and it's regarding the mention of a tumbler. Can you drop a link perhaps as to where you purchased it and explain how and when to use it? Once again I'm so thankful for all your instructions and dedication to helping others. Take care dear and stay safe ! 🫂🦋🫂
Thanks so much! ☺️ I just use a little plastic tumbler I got from Michaels. Not sure if they have them anymore but Amazon does… Rock Tumbler-amzn.to/2YtqVcH I fill with water to just cover the items and add just a dab of soap and let it run for about an hour 👍🏻
What method do you use to keep your chain from tangling when you tumble? It would be cool to see a quick video on what you made with them too. They are all very cool! Thank you for sharing!
I made the chain from your first chain video which is similar to the swirl one here. I found it sits better if I put every link in the same direction instead of alternating. You almost do that on this video but then say you are doing it wrong and turn it around. Give it a try. Just flip over every second swirl component and see which way you prefer.
First chain... why don't you string all your bead on the wire and then start wirewrapping. That way you have more grip on the second wrap and you don't lose chain and it goes way faster... just a tip...
I wish I would, I am just a scary person when it comes to videos. I have 2 or 3 on my channel now, and I am always telling myself I have to do some practical videos. But you have to realize I do everything laying down. Can't sit. So you would see me doing stuff on the couch. But hey I think I am going to give it a try. I can always do a wordless video or do a voice over. If I find something to edit on my phone. I don't have a computer. Lol
Why don't you make your figure 8 yourself? It's a job I do when I watching a good program on television that I really wants to follow and so I can't do complicating stuff... lol
