- We have a first look at Fortuna Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch 1! Fortuna was a prolific brand in the United States from the late 1800’s until the 1960’s, when they closed the doors on the distillery. It is now being revitalized for a new generation of whiskey lovers by the people behind Rare Character Whiskey.
At the height of America's original whiskey boom of the late nineteenth century, a German immigrant named Phil Hollenbach crafted a brand called Fortuna that helped define the early days of the modern Bourbon industry. Hollenbach left a lasting mark on the whiskey trade having found great success in Louisville, Kentucky. He strived to delight customers far and wide by sharing his "Taste of Good Fortune."
Over a hundred years since its inception, Fortuna Bourbon has now been revitalized for a new generation of whiskey lovers to celebrate. Aged a minimum of six years and hand-selected by the folks behind Rare Character Whiskey, the spirit of Hollenbach's passion and dedication lives on in this remarkable Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

Really glad that you guys enjoyed Fortuna, awesome review and tasting notes. Cheers!
Thanks so much for watching. Big fans of the amazing work you guys are doing so we figured we should pick this one up, and very glad we did. Excellent whiskey and love the back story. Definitely will be on the lookout for batch 2! And PS... the RC Single Barrel Rye Whiskey finished in Amburana Casks remains one of the best pours we've had all year! Cheers and thank you again!
I got this as soon as Seelbachs released it and I got mine on Friday just in time to start the weekend with it. It is fantastic I mean super fantastic. I totally agree this was very unique and complex. I shouldve gotten two of them. If they did their best to bring back history man we were missing out on a lost gem. I hope people can enjoy this as much as I am.
Hey JAC, awesome take on this bourbon and definitely agree with you here. It's not easy to put out a whiskey that stands out today without either being finished, or way over-hyped and priced. This one is complex, priced fairly and only going to get better. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we did! Looking forward to batch 2 already...and yeah, may need to grab a back-up as well :) Cheers, JAC ! ~A
My local store just sent me an email letting me know they have this in stock. I looked for a review and yours posted just a few minutes ago. Good timing. On my way to grab a bottle. * Cheers *
Hey BigWen, that's awesome! Yeah, we enjoyed it and really bought it blind without even knowing much about the back story. I think this will continue to get better as it opens up; we really only dove about a notch below the neck-pour and still enjoyed it. You'll have to let us know what you think after you grab a bottle. Hope you'll stay with us. Cheers friend! ~A
Great review guys! I'll have to hunt this down! Cheers and Rock on 🤘🥃
We went into this one totally blind and knowing nothing about it...kind of what makes whiskey fun, everyone has a story and this one is pretty cool. Good juice to back it up. Looking forward to tomorrow's stream! Cheers and Rock On, Shane! ~A
Absolutely!! That makes it even better lol 🤘 I can't wait either brother 🥃
Great review! Rock on!
Rock On, Jimmy! It's no McCormick's, but then again, what is? ~A
Sounds great!! Might have to throw a bottle in with my next Seelbachs order!! Cheers
Awesome... you'll make both Todd and Seelbach's very happy LOL! If you do, please let us know your thoughts. We think this one will keep getting better after a few pours! Cheers Robert! ~A
Nice review guys . Sounds like a good one . Rock On ! 🥃
What's up, Sean! May have to grab ya a sample, would love to know what you think about this one. Slightly different flavor profile, but today, that's probably a good thing in a sea of whiskey's that taste that same. Cheers and Rock On, Slash... I mean, Sean 😎! ~A
@@2TEN90 - Haha , yeah different is definitely good these days . Cheers brother 🥃
Nice review guys. Un-Fortuna-tely, Seelbachs doesn't deliver to MN, so they can suggit. I'll keep an eye out for this bottle though. Cheers!
That is extremely unfortunate Mike!!! Not sure what I would do without Seelbach's??? Lmao!
Hey guys- great content as always. Black Friday is only 2 months away! Excited for the BCBS Coffee and Barleywine to make their return this year! FYI- Founder’s has just dropped their 2022 version of KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge and it’s absolutely delicious. I’d love to hear your take on it if you snag a four pack or 2. Cheers 🍻…
Thanks so much and appreciate the kind words. And yeah, we're definitely gearing up for what is looking to be another fall full of great BABs. Funny you mentioned the KBS Mackinac Fudge, we just picked up a couple and will be doing a quick review live tomorrow night on our stream before we do an official review to release later. I'm definitely looking forward to the coffee BCS as well but was kind of hoping to see the wheat wine make another appearance. They seemed to just get better every year! Whatever they release, it's always fun to try and then see what everyone thinks. Hope all is well and Cheers! ~A
@@2TEN90 nice! I did a side by side with the 2020 version and the new fresh one. Both were great. Neither are a maple bomb, but the biggest difference between the aged and new, is the coffee component is bright and upfront fresh, but as expected, is much more in the background with the aged. Can’t wait to see your take. And I agree with you on the Wheatwine. It was getting better every year. Perhaps it’ll make a return to the line up in a year or 2. Cheers! 🍻
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎😎😎😎
ROCK ON, Jay!
