@@ΚρανίΩthey only did that because SFV was hot garbage and needed an out. We have trial tickets so I'm fine with toons being premium. The big issue is no direct buy so you're forced into fighter coin.
Battlehub tournaments are so underwhelming because it happens so infrequently and they only pay out in useless kudos or in Drive tickets and there's nothing to buy using drive tickets besides avatar stuff and colors. They should have limited run tournaments where you can win a character.
I'm not the sort of person that just plays one game for months on end generally. I played the game a bunch when it came out and then mostly dropped it. But anytime I pick it up again, the game is still really fun, I always enjoy myself everytime I play.
Honestly I think the one patch a year is what ultimately made the game feel dry and lack of costume variety. I absolutely loved it for a long time but after a while every player was using the same cosmetics and if you pick a character who struggles, you're pretty much stuck with that for the whole year. Only so many times I can just run into Ken and Luke over and over also using the same outfits til the game dries up a bit. I get why they wanted this to probably keep the game in the same state for all the CPTs of the year but it just gets dull after a while. Especially when some characters have glaring issues like Manon and Jamie. AKI is awesome conceptually but we're just left waiting til the patch which maybe they help the character a bit.
One of the things i appreciate most about fighting games (at least the older titles) is that they dont get changes so learning the game feels rewarding and meaningful. With recent games every time you come back it feels like a completely new game and the tech and progress you made in the previous patch becomes a waste of time.
I'm actually glad with Capcom decision to do one balance patch per year. I personally enjoyed my time to learn and getting better at the game. It's just feels satisfying because the game didn't change every 3-5 month that forced me to throw what i already learned out of the window. Currently I got three characters at Master rank, two characters at Diamond 2, and some at Platinum 5. I never feel the current meta for SF 6 is "dry" or boring at all. Heck, i seen pros shared a lot of new tech every couple of days or a week. People need to learn from Japanese players. I rarely seen them complaint about balance patches needs to come soon. They just labbing, find new tech, and keeps getting better and better at the game.
@@Cashmoneez MK dropped what 😂 Guest characters doesn’t automatically make their DLC better in fact a large amount of MK fans who don’t give a shit about those characters wouldn’t be inclined to purchase the DLC until Takeda.
I always love seeing JM come through with the collaborations. He's such a joy to watch, and his opinions and views of different aspects of fighting games are always so accurate. He doesn't step on any toes, he's just a great content creator. JMCrofts W
Big agree, I’ve got like ~200 hours in ranked match and I’m definitely still learning more and having fun fighting every character. The only other game I’ve committed this sort of time to is melee. Which is another game that is “stale” but is so deep who cares.
Only real point to the game being stale I feel you could justify is that drive rush dominates matches too much. It's fine that it's there but it's just way too cheap and way too hard to react to with some characters. For most of the cast it's fine, but then DeeJay and to a lesser extent Juri are just jumpscares that take too much mental energy to look for.
Games not boring per say, but i've seen pretty much everything the game has to offer. The tech isn't that deep, and checking drive rush all game has gotten stale. I really have no urge to play it unless a friend is asking for games. Been going back to older fighting games where isn't a fucking battlepass and baby modern controls.
I just want to add that tap parry/perfect parry attempts can be punished by drive impact for a wall splat in the corner on reaction, Nemo made a video about this and I haven't seen too many people use that technique to deal with perfect parry attempts.
@@mrosskne 🤣 What!?! You're losing on so many levels. This topic is like 6 months old, this game is almost at season 2 and you're responding as if you're making any valid point by trying to act tough on TH-cam. Boy, Bye! Lmao 😆
Getting your drive rush checked being a punish counter does sound like a pretty good change ngl. That is like one of the only changes I've heard suggested to the game that sounds great because I've heard some stinkers from like broski that would really slow down the game in the long run which would be terrible
They should make parry high/low for sure and add red parry for block strings. It encompasses more skill and adds great OS. Makes it less mindless and more controlled. I'm a 3rd strike player so obviously I'm biased
There is no incentive to play this game. At least, SFV, with the Fight Money, you could unlock characters and stages. There is nothing to incentivize players to play SF6.
I thought it was stale for the last 2 months but today it was the last straw. The game meta at high level is literally broken. The defense mechanics cannot overcome the offense and it is obvious when you see Deejay and Ken being the best characters of the game. Also, if you put the gameplay aside, Capcom have made this game a full priced free to play. Go to hell Capcom.
Personally, The game is still a blast after nearly 6 months. The launch of this game was a huge success, and how everything just simply works on launch; such as Crossplay works, Lobbies just work, net code is black magic, & etc. I completely understand why some folks will be frustrated, BUT! This is just the very beginning folks! This is just the first iteration, the Vanilla, version of Street Fighter 6, and I really want to see how the Capcom devs tackle the later seasons of this game. Take care!
Honestly, I would just make Drive Reversal much, much, much faster. You're basically spending 1) Some Drive gauge from blocking the move, 2) 2 whole bars of Drive to use the reversal option, and 3) b/c 80% of the moves in this game can't be punished by it, you then lose way more Drive gauge b/c you're -8 in someone's face in a game with Punish Counter state. I think keeping it unsafe would keep it in line with guard cancel moves from other games like KOF's, but it needs to work against more things.
Modern controls is the end of fighting games, unless we stop it now. Its going to become more and more "baby mode" forced into the games. Execution training then being able to do tight hard to do combos and others being like "THAT WAS SICK!" is why fighting games are fun. The baby mode modern controls takes all the fun execution out. Its called BRAIN DEAD for a reason.
I don't think you understand how Modern control works. Yes, there are 3 autocombos per character, autocombos that will use your drive gauge. They are useful, but they kind of suck. You still need quarter circles and link your normals if you want to be decent in modern. Just try to do any advanced combo trials in modern. You still need good execution
@@muddykocyak9113It's already too much and is probably ruining the game for newcomers trying to learn the game, I mostly don't encounter Modern players but when I do I make sure to not rematch after the first win (they're mostly all bad and all play the same way btw). And you don't need "advanced combos" most of the time btw, especially with the damage scaling.
People who think they need to "grind" to get the alternative costumes simply didn't play world tour for more than 2 hrs, in 7 minutes u can get enough money to buy the gifts and unlock costumes
bro what you saying. First you have to get to the point where you meet the character. Zangief is 9 chapters deep for example. Then you have to play the boring minigame around 15 times. Google the characters favorite gift. Pray it isnt deeper into the """"""""""""""plot"""""""""""""""" And here comes the best part. Spam gift TWENTY TIMES You would be more time efficient if you worked a minwage job.
Exactly, people are just hypocrites because if the costumes were locked behind a paywall, then they would be complaining about how "old games used to be better because you could unlock everything by just playing the game". Now that you DO have the option to play the game and unlock content, then they complain because it takes "too long". Lazy bastards.
@@Yokai_Yuri Except when you add the fact that you can pay to skip "unlocking" it sort of triggers a cynical line of thinking. "Why would they give us the option to skip playing the game?"--->"Games are supposed to be fun, why would they want us to skip the game to unlock it now?"--->"Was the game designed to be grindy and unfun to encourage spending it?" Avoiding the puddle said "When I saw you could pay to unlock the costumes I said 'thank God I dont have to play it'" Makes you think, huh?
I think there's just too many fighting games to play and experience to just play one game. I always want to play different fighters, especially when I want to switch up to something more chaotic.
Nah man, there is rarely a time where the FGC gets so many new games to play at once. No such thing as too many fighting games. We spent a long time playing the same game from the arcades or rooted in it that it was a change of pace when we got brand new options / mechanics to enjoy figuring out
@@DosSantos_leyenda you’re trippin if you think there isn’t too many FG to play rn lol maybe earlier in the year whenever SF6 released. As of now we have SF6,MK1,GBFVS,UNI2, Tekken 8, Strive update, NASB2. I would say this has been a pretty great year for the FGC

Variety is the thing this game desperately needs, and not just more characters and costumes, but stronger characters (and also more costumes). Getting to the core of it, the system mechanics need to be weakened in order for characters' mechanics to predominantly become the driving force of a match. Ken, and the other mostly played characters, currently excel because they mesh really well with the system and don't have to deviate from their game plan very much or at all. This aspect coupled with the lack of balance changes and meaningful content release has created a doldrums of sorts where a lot of players are just left wanting and waiting.
The system mechanics should stay the driving force of the matches, it's what makes Street Fighter 6 unique. It's blatently obvious that the core of Street Fighter 6's gameplay was designed to revolve around the drive gauge, and yes, some drive techniques need to be tuned (drive rush and perfect parry notably), but I think overall the drive system is a success and it makes the game infinitely more interesting than us just having a better looking SFV (I also think there's still a very good amount of character-driven interactions and mind-games as of now). Without dominant system mechanics, you lessen the decisionmaking surrounding the drive system and straight up strip the game of its identity. There's a whole slew of other fighting games out there with solely character-centric matches if that's what you want, I want to see where capcom is gonna go with the drive system as the game evolves over the years.
@@tamago9026 System mechanics should be a feature (even if it's a strong feature), not the core. Decision-making should always be the core of a fighting game. The inherent issue with SF6 is in fact that the drive gauge mechanics supplement bad decision-making. Now if you're good, you're good so you learn to deal but as it stands now, the much of the mechanics have introduced a huge amount of guesswork into the meta. And what that creates is a game where players who really have no real fundamental skill can just do things, forcing their opponents to guess. Now I've got no problem with that because guessing has always been what you want your opponent to have to do, but puting your opponent in a situation where they have to guess has always been a skill until SF6. So now it's not so much about your decision making that wins games, but my ability to just guess. That's why Ken (for example) gets so much hate. If one or two buttons can constantly put your opponent in a 10-way guessing game without you having to actually DO anything, your decision making isn't what's winning you the game. It's whether or not they roll the dice and it lands in their favor. Now at the same time, I get it. Lowering the skill ceiling brings in a much bigger customer base because you can alienate a huge part of your potential customers if a game is "too hard." So this is a great design from a money-making perspective. But even many pros have stated what I'm saying. All that being said, I still do have a lot of fun playing. But I rarely feel outplayed when i do lose. Long term though I have faith in the game so I'm not part of the "Bash SF6" crowd.
@@Yoloslides I agree with everything you said regarding the decision-making issues in SF6, and you worded the issues well. But once again, I don't think the fault lies with the system mechanics (with the exception of drive rush/perfect parry which I'll talk about) : Ken can be stupid because he has stupid moves (dragonlash, jinrai loops, corner carry, EX fireball, etc.), and forces you into RPS situations much too easily. Make a mistake off of a strike throw mixup following a blocked heavy dragonlash, he does tatsu or back throw to bring you to the corner, you deal with throwloop guesses until you either escape or die trying. It's the character's extreme strengths in kit which make him obnoxious for the mostpart, and the same applies for the other notable characters people are complaining about (JP, Luke, etc.). However I'll be the first to agree that some of the system mechanics (drive rush and perfect parry as I mentioned before) encourage really braindead play and need to be changed: for example tapping parry after whiffing a button in the hopes to perfect parry a late whiff punish from your opponent takes no skill and is too safe. Raw drive rush allows people to take too much initiative in neutral while basically not putting themselves in any real danger, it feels like it has some weird input eating. These are some of the issues which must be adressed. My point being that rather than simply reducing the importance of the system mechanics in the moment-to-moment gameplay, Capcom should aim to rework the ones causing issues (by making them more punishing or more situational) in order to **further** emphasize on the overarching drive bar economy they've put in palce and further complexify its mind-games. Getting rid of or diminishing the importance of the faulty system mechanics would probably be an easy solution, I'm simply advocating that it's the boring solution and it would dilute the game's identity negatively. I think how drive-gauge-focused SF6 is is a big part of what makes it unique to play and watch, and I'd like that aspect preserved in future balancing.
@@tamago9026 I guess that's where some people will just disagree. I prefer stronger characters and a core that revolves around matchup knowledge. Naturally many players and developers take to games with stronger system mechanics because of the easier bar of entry it affords. I think SF6 has a better balance between the two aspects than many other fighters out there, but it still obviously has issues with them. After several months of play, the skews have become more apparent and tired in many's eyes. Characters still need to be balanced around each other and the system as best they can be, but I would like to see them address system balance before tackling anything character specific. Hopefully, the large gaps between updates is giving them enough time to properly sort through a lot of this before rolling out big changes. I will say that if the next patch does nothing to temper these problems, then concern and annoyance will become even more prominently featured in all discourse surrounding the game and could lead to some negative trends, especially when fresher offerings are just around the corner.
I think I will like it a lot more when it is finished, you know, Super Street Fighter 6 Alpha (Legendary Edition) or whatever, that version will be one I really like. It feels a bit barebones at the moment. Not many fighters.
Ken and jp aren't that bad except if you're in the 1600 mr and more, you don't need to cry for something that only very good players should worry about
they made the most played characters the best (ken/luke) and these are easy to play so the result is 80%of ranked are luke and ken who all play the same. 5% ryu and guile. i see manon and jamie so little that although low tier, they are my hardest matches. sf6 is so crap to play ranked atm. luke/ken and dr 90% of the time lacking any skill.
Lmao. The dead game nonesense is already coming out. I really don't understand the complaining around SF6. It's all nitpicking when the game is not in a bad state. It's all exaggerated by people panicking about the coming patch and non top players repeating what they read on twitter. The small issues in the game dont need all this discussion. We got it good even if you don't want to believe it and complain.
Honesty I think the only problem is the top 3 Luke,Jp and Ken. Once those three get nerfed, which will probably happen after capcom cup the game will be more fresh since in my opinion everyone outside of those 3 characters isn't overly tuned. Capcom needs to make sure this game doesnt turn in to Strive where Happy Chaos just beats everyone. Character variety in torunaments is essential to keeping a fighting game alive. If all 4 ken players get top 8 at capcom cup I think Ken's nerfs will be very harsh.
It's more like that the game has something very good going on with it but kinda loses itself through these exact nitpicks, like the abysmal waiting time for the first wave of character skins, no new maps, lack of little features like jukebox, overpriced avatar stuff and of course no upcoming patch for the first entire year of the games lifespan The way they are handling the community rn is basically quite a risky (but confident) move. We'll see how things gonna proceed after the Capcom cup tho ig
@@DjayT. I believe that's an exaggeration. We dont have much to complain about. Everything you mentioned is either a nice extra or a deliberate decision to test the game ( the 1 year patch ). Compare SF6 issues with MK1s and you can get an idea of what I mean. It's fine to complain, i do it all the time but I dont think it needs THIS MUCH discussion.
This kind of thing makes me wonder if there’s even actually a point to fighting games. It’s a solid game in a solid patch, but what’s the point if we don’t have some new broken thing to complain about?
No need of character adjustment really ???? Top 8 of every tournament in the world become boring as hell with the same 5,6 character all the time, and sometimes an E.T. Being like " he manage to get qualified with Zangief, Lily or Jamie, incredible" shown that there is a problem with characger balance. Of course the game is more balance than any other street fighter at the same moment , but there is character than need love.
As someone who grew up with street fighter, from an unbiased standpoint I can see why people would find it “boring” , BUT I still think this the best fighting game yet for this generation. Graphics are admirable, music is amazing, mechanics are fun to experiment and lab with, story is a new, online is great, characters are returning and new. Overall, everyone will have their point of view and I can respect all views, I do think though this game has a long future ahead
Mk 1 is better and S.F. one of my favorite franchises but the game isn’t that good yet I bought it on release day I ended up trading it in mk is much more fun just my opinion
For casuals that fight the 100th gold ranked Ken of the day yeah maybe its dead to them but people that actually play the game at high level are liking it. Parry is too strong though, like jim said maybe a good solution would be low/high.
Maybe cause I'm new at fighting games, but i love that i have so much time to learn a character without having to relearn stuff Also since im bad, the ranked is enough incentive to give me something to do
Play game for over 1000 hours, then complain of game being stale....why are gamers like this? Every gaming community is like this and there isn't anyone else who thinks it's a little cringy? Like damn, just go do something else if you don't like it.
For me, the slow patch cycle and relatively slow DLC character turnover has been one of the game's strongest points in this current fighting game environment. I will always value stability in games like this, that I can enjoy and continue enjoying these games as they are for a long time. One of the big things that eventually turned me pretty cold to Guilty Gear Strive was how the game would swing so wildly. Giovanna as my first main-pick is constantly in this fluxtuating state of "Do I enjoy playing her?", the DLCs were always these big shake-ups and as much as Season 3 was a good second wind for the game to me, I also am never really hot on a game changing at the core mechanics level as heavily as it did, because now the previous version of Strive is a game that you just won't get to play anymore, warts and all. If anything about SF6's pace has been a problem, it's been the customisation options. Having only one colour variation per character at launch was quite frankly pathetic and has put that much more pressure on the costumes to deliver on the visual variety. They absolutely should have had more stuff to mess around with your looks in the game, as a profound fan of choosing "my colours" in fighters.
i agree, because i definitely enjoy the steady balance path that SF6 has taken myself while we do have oppressive dudes like jp and ken, they don't feel completely impossible to beat and people make their own predictions in the earlier parts of the game only to find opinions swaying over time, like some saying that cammy was not good at all, to the point where shes a consistent high tier in most people's listings even the arguably worst character in the game, zangief, still doesnt feel like a free win because of how scary he can be too, it all feels like a relatively delicate balance that i think has a lot of time to be explored :)
@@kareema3832 Yeah, that's one of the things that I enjoy seeing in games with infrequent/non-existent patches. How the perception of what is strong and weak will shift over time, as cracks in the top tiers' strategies shine through and tech discovered with less used characters suddenly elevate them to new heights. The old "Yoshi in Melee" effect. I understand the need to shake things up and address legitimate problems with patches and I'm not gonna pretend like this isn't something that didn't happen even back in the day, but I always just hope that games find that balance, where you can tinker with the game's design, while still leaving room for players to discover and properly dissect the current meta, as seeing how the game changes just based on players figuring the game out is ultimately a great thing. If anything, it'll always be one of the greatest appeals of old fighters.
I still enjoy the game but rank is definitely getting stale. Never really been an online warrior and I have played this game more online than any other fighting game so far. Maybe I need to start playing avatar battles. I played a Modern Guile last night and I was like WTF. The constant sonic booms made me question if I need a short break from SF6. Some matches are really fun (even when I lose) then some matches make me think how boring it can be sometimes. All in all I still enjoy the game. I guess it takes a certain breed to grind out fighting games.
you can just do parry into drive reversal. if you do perfect parry, then the inputs of the drive reversal are negated so you can punish the opponent. if you miss the perfect parry then your character will do drive reversal.
Drive reversal has like 2 or 3 specific uses and that's it. Main one I can think of is as an option vs Rashid Super 2 if you parry absorb it and/or the enhanced LP Mixer. Otherwise it's useless
For me it's the roster. I stopped playing because none of the characters made me want to stick with them. I was a Bison and Dudley main and to see not one of those characters in the game really disappointed me but I still tried to branch out and DJ was the closes but still not enough for me to want to grind to Master rank. The other part is that DLC is just WTF to me because it really seems like Capcom doesn't want to let SF5 go as bad as that game was and we had to deal with it for 7YRS!.. just to see those characters again when you have SF4 and 3RD strike characters that have been in absent WAY!.. longer should've been first priority on the dlc list. Capcom better not mess up Season 2 or I'm pretty sure the community is gonna give them an ear full and rightfully so. 👀
No, they needed a better starting roster. maybe like 24 characters cause out of the 18 chars I only see 6 of them so SOMETHING is wrong with the base game
With such a weak roster of course its boring and any special event that has been done is lame as most capcom things are, all they got is costumes, like super barbie fighter 5
There is nothing wrong with the game. There has NEVER been anything "Wrong" with SF games, they are consistently good. Whats bad are Capcoms DLC content, but ALL WILL BE FORGIVEN WHEN AKUMA ARRIVES!!
This game is tight. I’m not looking forward to the patch because I fear it might end up worse. I stick to one character and hate if they get nerfed and refuse to learn another one.
I believe it comes down to a couple of factors. Number 1, content drops are incredibly scarce. Costumes, characters, stages, etc. everything comes out much slower. Im pretty sure it comes down to the engine being harder to develop for, and every character having to accomodate for World Tour. Number 2, rewards are awful. The pass and rewards you get for tournaments, maxing characters through kudos, and playing the game in general is not great at all. I personally dont enjoy World Tour all that much, so its kinda impossible for me to get colours on the characters I want, and also playing ranked and doing trials doesnt get me anything else than LP. Number 3. Bad matchmaking. Ranked its a wasteland due to being region locked. I only face the same 4-5 players every play session so I dont even feel rewarded because Im only getting better at fighting specific people rather than becoming a more complete player. Those are my three reasons, all can be solved, except maybe the character drop timing. I want to play something other than Marisa man, but I dont really like playing anything else... just crossing fingers I'll find the newer versions of Ed and Akuma enjoyable. Even SF5 on launch had more characters I liked, playing like Vega, Birdie, and Mika. Later they added Ed, Poison, Kage, Alex, all characters I liked playing. Idk, seems like moving the game forward is the only way but its going at snail's pace.
No patches definitely make the game stale for me. When it comes to something like League or TFT, even when I'm not feeling the game I'm always down to play for a bit when it's patched but as soon as I'm burnt out on GG or SF6 it feels like months before something makes me want to hop on again.
Played sf6 a bunch but have dropped it like a hot rock, none of the cast that are out really fit how I want to play (urien main in sfv/rose main in sf4). The time taken for dlc characters to come out doesnt feel great. makes me wish sf6 came out with maybe one or two more characters (considering tekken 8 is going bonkers with its character list and majority of them look amazing).
As a heavy viewer and not a player...i can tell you from my point of view. The meta is boring. Same characters...same players. And i honestly feel the way theyve brought in new characters is lack lusting. Between every match seems like its the same ish, and theres no spice. Again...coming from a hardcore viewer..not player. To me sf4 was fkn fav.
Street Fighter 6 is still a good and fun game (even if I have gripes with some mechanics and balance) and is still entertaining to watch. However, I think the game has become very visually stale. Like in terms of things to *see* in the game, like appearance wise, we've seen it all. The game has been playable since last year via betas, and has mostly had the same content till launch, with some locked out until then but still. Two DLC characters have dropped and they're okay, but the gap between those two and the next two feels kinda hollow with little to no new content releasing up until December. Basically, it's fun to play and watch, boring to look at now because there's no new costumes till now, the two supposed DLC stages still not out, and the gap between A.K.I. and Ed and Akuma being kinda big. Also yeah ranked gets boring and cumbersome because of the stupid matchmaking region lock nonsense, as well as some system mechanics issues such as Drive Rush being too rewarding for like a good chunk of the cast and Drive Reversal kinda not being as effective as I feel it should be
I play daily, having fun and not burned out. But I have had to go into trying new characters that I know i'm not going to use regularly as I wait for something interesting to drop. I wish they would drop GOOD costumes for each character more frequently and either shorten the time of releasing new characters or release 2 at a time. This trickle effect is annoying.
It's not broken enough so it is enjoyed by casuals, but it's not balanced enough on the competitive side of things. The battle pass makes gameplay a chore.
SF6 is balanced via universal mechanics like the drive system but its also what makes it boring. Every character literally do the same moves oike parrying a fireball, DI against another DI, raw drive rushing or drive reversal against certain moves. There's very little character complexity and need to learn match up knowledge. Pretty much what you do against a character works against another with little to no changes.
@@Saxandfifths yea you judging fugg hes a master, tired of yall checking people on their rank like it matters as much as understanding fundamentals and basic street fighter functions per character. you and the others need to stop jumping down peoples throats for their rank you started low just like everyone else and had an opinion then too.
@@MrSolidsnake293 whoa, slow down with your crying. I literally just asked his rank and character he used. There was no judgment plus I hit Master rank after a month and still had more to learn so idk why you got your panties (because that's clearly what you're wearing) in a bunch when he didn't even get that upset. 🤣 FOH
I don't think the game is balanced, some chars like Jamie never really won big tournaments and snake eyes was just a miracle that doesn't define general balance, I always see the same obnoxious chars in final. The most urgent change to me is casual matches, I never played ppl at my level and I'm only plat5. I get mainly bronze and silver. To me it does feel less exciting and technical than sf5, there I never had a single moment of boredom the past 3 years. Eating inputs drive rush should b solved ASAP. Defensive options R ok, the game is already very aggressive the way it is. And yeah, fight money for rewards!!
Hmm, after listening to this, I can kinda understand why the developers cater more to the casual gamers... the hardcore gamers are very hard to please. The game in its current state is overall balanced, but that's not enough to please the hardcore gamer...🤷🏽♂️
I respect the sf6 grinders that keep on logging everyday for ranked matches, the game itself is super solid, but feels a bit stale after clocking 500h, Hoping Ed or Akuma will give me reasons to get back before a meta shakedown occurs on the yearly patch
I think it’s interesting because I find it’s not boring at all but sf6 is my first real fighting game. I always find there’s something I can work on and hit the lab and incorporate something new into my game. It’s been an absolutely blast and it doesn’t feel stale at all
You just said it yourself. It's your first fighting game. Sorry, but that means you have no clue what you are talking about. I'm happy if you can enjoy the game but your input doesn't matter.
I would also really like to see them get rid of wall splat on blocking DI in the corner when you are not burned out. Its already so hard to survive in the corner, that blocking DI and then being punished so heavily for it feels a bit over the top.
Bro, do you really think they would just outright remove a major mechanic like that? DI in particular has many ways to beat it too. Trust me when i say wall splat is one of your least worries when you get better at the game.
I think SF6 is fine, personally. Character adjustments here and there, but I think it's fine. I'm not playing it because I still don't have a character. As fun as the game is, I'm not jiving with any of the characters. I'll be the first to admit it. Character loyalty is a "me" problem, but at the same time I don't like character "functions" either. In any case, I'll be playing the waiting game until season 2. I'll continue to support from the outside though. As for the video. Great discussion. I do wish that someday there will be a big group (maybe about 5-6 people) discussion to take place on here, be it coming back to this topic or talk about the fgc in general.
the game is just way too linear, neutral skip into button/grab then meaty throw loop, we don't have delayed wakeup, or throw invul for 5f on wakeup(like 3rd strike) so it turns into this linear dragfest of just who can drive rush into grab first then snowball
Honestly i think the games great I just dont have the drive to play it because none of my favourite characters are here to keep me invested, waiting for akuma hopefully but id love to see balrog or alex next season. for now ive been forced onto ryu which can get... frustrating.. when all you play against is luke and ken who feel like ryu+
Kizzie and jmcrofts would be dope as hosts for Friday Night Fisticuffs if anyone brought it back. These dudes are just a pure joy to watch and listen to. I am happy that there's a community with all the FGC personalities.
One thing I think is bad for pretty much any game is: Daily challenges. It feels like you have to force yourself to play every day to get Kudos eg, but I'd rather jump in the game when I feel like it, which is not every day, so in long term I'd play longer.
I'm totally on board with letting this game rock for a full year before any balance changes. It's because of this, you get to see stuff on characters you might have never seen. (Remember when Honda was the one character you'd always see? Now I barely hear about him anymore!) This is not to throw shade at all, but the way NRS has handled MK1 has been a bit of a bummer because they did the shotgun to the knee reactionary approach by listening to the loud voices in the room rather then assessing what would actually need to be fine tuned/adjusted. They tackled symptoms and not the disease itself, and to me SF6 feels like they're letting just the whole thing fly and taking that time to study and see how they could, potentially make the game more interesting after the first big balance patch. Regarding the cosmetic stuff, I'm whatever because while it is for avatar stuff, it is always fun seeing people and their freaks roam around battle hub.
They should take notes from Brawlhalla. I can buy paid stuff by just playing ranked mode, even if I lose I earn coins to spend with stuff. Sure there are premium things that only muny can buy, but you could even afford the guest characters without touching your wallet. Oh and dont get me started with the refund option, its amazing a game as a service ever has it
I still play every other day or so and just grind ranked, for me I love the current patch system. I’ve got 200 hours in ranked matches and still learn new things about every character in the game every session. But, I also played melee competitively for 8 years so I’m used to playing a game for the game, and not drip fed content
As somebody who is more of a fighting game watcher than player personally the game is still fun to watch. Guess I can understand the actual players getting bored in some aspects but obviously I wouldn't know anything about how to make the game better for the ones playing it
Considering that game companies shifted all the costs of game ownership to the consumer (ie. You have to buy the hardware and software and upgrades yourself - essentially, you are the arcade), and considering the entry cost to playing any fighting game has gone from $0.25 per play to over $100 to own a game, it's only fair to the consumers to have a controlling creative stake in the development of the game. In fact, Capcom should be paying you for your expert opinions. These videos are like free consulting. You should form a partnership business and charge Capcom $$$$$ for consulting.
Me neither tbh. What's important to me are cool systems and whether or not the characters are dope. I don't *Dislike* Street Fighter, but almost none of the cast look cool to me. The only ones I think are cool are like Menat, Q, Dudley, Bison, Ed, and at a stretch kinda Urien. (I don't like his design but the defensive glass panels kinda playstyle looks visually very cool and fun) Not only are none of them in SF6, the only ones I really like (Q and Menat), were in one game and look unlikely to return to the franchise. I much prefer Tekken. But I can only speak for myself.
I think its fairly balanced but there are still characters that could do with changing a bit. Ken is too strong and Lily is too weak... Gief and Sim could be better too.
Im only D2 so the grind to Masters is still fun for me and then after I will go to any of the other characters i dont know how to play so i dont see this being boring for me anytime soon.
I stopped playing because the game is still incomplete. There aren’t enough characters. I might as well wait like 3 years before playing because then it will have more characters
I still enjoy this game to the fullest, ofcourse excitement dies down but the game for me is really fun, I still haven't messed around with Battle Hub or World Tour yet, only ranked and casual but still 100% go to fighting game atm.
Im honestly so tired of people claiming a game is "dead", "dying", or "boring" so soon after it comes out. Six months really isn't long for an online, live service game's life span. Yeah there haven't been any huge sweeping changes so far, but what's wrong with that? I like that I can just enjoy the game as it is without a huge meta shift all the time. If the core gameplay is solid, why do things need to be constantly changed? Im not arguing the game shouldn't EVER change, but give it some time to breathe and be what it is for now. (Although they should drop costumes and other small things here and there to keep some aspects fresh.)
I really don't get it. Isn't balancing what everyone wants in a good fighting game ? How now this can be a bas rhing in the view of pro playees ? For me, what makes SF6 interesting to watch is the fact that we see people winning competitons with many different characters. Isn't the unpredictability that makes competitons fun to watch and force players to constantly rethink their strategies ? How can this be boring ? I really don't get it.
between the input bugs, capcom making you choose between screen tearing or unacceptable input delay(unless you can afford a $700 120hz tv), and just the general lack of new content outside of shitty cosmetics that cost an arm and a leg of real money (in the form of free to play mtx coins), i gotta say i'm done. cant wait for tekken 8 though
World tour got boring when the AI started cheating and I was getting my ass beat by refrigerators. Ranked is never really boring but you get bored of fighting the same people over and over
They should absolutely give you drive tickets for playing ranked, even if it's just a small amount per match. Or even fighter coins, screw it!
Or more battlehub tournaments that can payout in tickets and coins 🤔
Fighter coins would be better, that way you can buy the new characters like in sfv
Legit. Why even give us drive tickets if it takes literal months to get enough for a single character
I stopped playing because I had played it for ages and wanted to spend time playing different games. I will definitely come back to it.
Fuck costumes.

Still playing sf6 and having a blast, really don't think it's gotten stale at all.
Big agree, I’ve got like ~200 hours in ranked match and I’m definitely still learning more and having fun fighting every character. The only other game I’ve committed this sort of time to is melee. Which is another game that is “stale” but is so deep who cares.
Idk man this shi got boring in a few months maybe cus they don't add good content like skins n dlc
Yeah just play a new character this far in I’m still playing Gief n Guile soooo much more for me to do 😂
Yall tripping drive fighter 6
Games not boring per say, but i've seen pretty much everything the game has to offer. The tech isn't that deep, and checking drive rush all game has gotten stale. I really have no urge to play it unless a friend is asking for games. Been going back to older fighting games where isn't a fucking battlepass and baby modern controls.

I just want to add that tap parry/perfect parry attempts can be punished by drive impact for a wall splat in the corner on reaction, Nemo made a video about this and I haven't seen too many people use that technique to deal with perfect parry attempts.
That's a lie because the point of parrying is to stop a move and most frames for a parry is 2 to almost 3 seconds to think on what you want to do.

I would like to see bug input fixed, new background music/stages, region unlock and more world tour updates. Maybe add more content.
Can't believe they gave us less characters.I mean i get It it's the first season but still.
SF6 is done, why is Base AKUMA DLC, Sagat not there its done man
I thought it was stale for the last 2 months but today it was the last straw.
So is it 2 hours or is it 7 minutes? Cant have both.
@@evilweevlebasically he sayin you can get it in 7 mins after grinding it for 2 hours🤣
bro what you saying. First you have to get to the point where you meet the character. Zangief is 9 chapters deep for example.
Then you have to play the boring minigame around 15 times.

And here comes the best part. Spam gift TWENTY TIMES
You would be more time efficient if you worked a minwage job.
"Why would they give us the option to skip playing the game?"--->"Games are supposed to be fun, why would they want us to skip the game to unlock it now?"--->"Was the game designed to be grindy and unfun to encourage spending it?"
Avoiding the puddle said "When I saw you could pay to unlock the costumes I said 'thank God I dont have to play it'"

Drive Rush needs to be adjusted, but overall 6 is solid
Hold parry gotta go too. Auto parrying highs, mids and low is just so brainless and it has no risk.

@@000wolf Yeah that's perfectly valid

If you don't understand then maybe you havent played enough fighting games
It's more like that the game has something very good going on with it but kinda loses itself through these exact nitpicks, like the abysmal waiting time for the first wave of character skins, no new maps, lack of little features like jukebox, overpriced avatar stuff and of course no upcoming patch for the first entire year of the games lifespan

They absolutely should have had more stuff to mess around with your looks in the game, as a profound fan of choosing "my colours" in fighters.
i agree, because i definitely enjoy the steady balance path that SF6 has taken myself
while we do have oppressive dudes like jp and ken, they don't feel completely impossible to beat
and people make their own predictions in the earlier parts of the game only to find opinions swaying over time, like some saying that cammy was not good at all, to the point where shes a consistent high tier in most people's listings
even the arguably worst character in the game, zangief, still doesnt feel like a free win because of how scary he can be too, it all feels like a relatively delicate balance that i think has a lot of time to be explored :)
@@kareema3832
Yeah, that's one of the things that I enjoy seeing in games with infrequent/non-existent patches.
People like you are the reason gaming sucks now. lol
Love hearin JMCrofts’ insight, awesome video Kizzie you’ve been doing an amazing job with this channel!!!
SF6 is dead because the entire game game is just mashing DR, DI, Parry and throw loops. Its literally like playing a 1-player fighting game lol.
Drive reversal has like 2 or 3 specific uses and that's it. Main one I can think of is as an option vs Rashid Super 2 if you parry absorb it and/or the enhanced LP Mixer. Otherwise it's useless
You use it mid move where the opponent cannot recover because of the animation Eg during ken's dragon lash or rashids wind enhanced light mixer
They need to start releasing characters in a timely manner instead of 4 months at a time..
No, they needed a better starting roster. maybe like 24 characters cause out of the 18 chars I only see 6 of them so SOMETHING is wrong with the base game
@@Xenozillex 🎯🎯🎯
With such a weak roster of course its boring and any special event that has been done is lame as most capcom things are, all they got is costumes, like super barbie fighter 5
Fighting the same damn characters in Ranked smh
There is nothing wrong with the game. There has NEVER been anything "Wrong" with SF games, they are consistently good. Whats bad are Capcoms DLC content, but ALL WILL BE FORGIVEN WHEN AKUMA ARRIVES!!
This game is tight. I’m not looking forward to the patch because I fear it might end up worse. I stick to one character and hate if they get nerfed and refuse to learn another one.
As a Jamie player I can’t wait for the patch because I need buffs
Do you mind if I ask what rank you are and what character you use?
@@Saxandfifths I'm master with Ken and Cammy
🤣 FOH
We also need a filter for Modern players… we all know why
Yes it is.
This is your first fighting game? OUCH! Go back and dig into the classics because your going about it the WRONG WAY
SF6 isn’t a real fighting game, it’s a party game.
It does feel a little stale but I still enjoy playing. Costume 3 helps, and when ed comes out that should help add some variety
Akuma bout to revive the game 😈
the game is just way too linear, neutral skip into button/grab then meaty throw loop, we don't have delayed wakeup, or throw invul for 5f on wakeup(like 3rd strike) so it turns into this linear dragfest of just who can drive rush into grab first then snowball
The super best friends show?
@@Jabroni_14 It was a show on TH-cam where they use to play every Friday a different fighting game and nerd out about it
@doublestarships646 I know the show was just kinds shocked to see it referenced here for some reason lol
@@Jabroni_14 I think it would be perfect for Kizzie even though he wants to focus on the tournament scene.
I don't understand why sf is so popular
Me neither tbh. What's important to me are cool systems and whether or not the characters are dope. I don't *Dislike* Street Fighter, but almost none of the cast look cool to me. The only ones I think are cool are like Menat, Q, Dudley, Bison, Ed, and at a stretch kinda Urien. (I don't like his design but the defensive glass panels kinda playstyle looks visually very cool and fun)
Not only are none of them in SF6, the only ones I really like (Q and Menat), were in one game and look unlikely to return to the franchise.
I much prefer Tekken. But I can only speak for myself.
It’s boring because they aren’t doing patches. The once a yr policy is going to hurt them
The game feels like a chore now. Ryu is not fun
Stop saying gief can win a tournament. WE ARE NOT SNAKE-EYES.
Gief is weak in this game. Remove his damage and he is done for sure.
Exactly, I absolutely HATE when people say that. Gief is NOT winning anything lmao its snake eyez being a character master for over 10 years
I think its fairly balanced but there are still characters that could do with changing a bit. Ken is too strong and Lily is too weak... Gief and Sim could be better too.
Im only D2 so the grind to Masters is still fun for me and then after I will go to any of the other characters i dont know how to play so i dont see this being boring for me anytime soon.
Drive reversal should be -5 and should only cost 2 bars, I think that would be ok.
it already costs 2 bars....
I stopped playing because the game is still incomplete. There aren’t enough characters. I might as well wait like 3 years before playing because then it will have more characters
How is 20 characters too small? Especially when there’s 8 completely new characters.
yes is boring. always the same scenarios and boring skins and music. so many flaws
Why would kizzie want punish counter parry recovery longer? Its already SOOOOO long, its trivial to punish.
DReversal should autocounter vs a DRush button. Same way DI directly counters DI 100% of the time.
between the input bugs, capcom making you choose between screen tearing or unacceptable input delay(unless you can afford a $700 120hz tv), and just the general lack of new content outside of shitty cosmetics that cost an arm and a leg of real money (in the form of free to play mtx coins), i gotta say i'm done. cant wait for tekken 8 though
World tour got boring when the AI started cheating and I was getting my ass beat by refrigerators. Ranked is never really boring but you get bored of fighting the same people over and over
