Hi Daggerwin. The Betimax RDS 7500 costs £24000. It costs £150/cow to be delivered. Therefore you would need to buy £24000/£150 = 160 cows before you would break even if you bought the Betimax. You are right, it is more cost effective to get them delivered at this stage in your game play. Great series matey. Hope this was of help, take care :)
but what if i buy it transport the cows and then sell it afterwards, that would drop the investment cost, quite significantly and then there is the daily maintenance which also needs to be accounted for if you want an actually correct answer, and because maintenance cost increases over time that would also needed to be included in the calculation
Hello Daggerwin. You are now at the right place for the shredded straw. You can put the Straw bale just over that fence you just were. So on the other side of je Joskin trailer. And on the grass field you cut. Its really smart to just cut that little field. Its easy grass. But you are not able to fertilize it. The way to do that is to make it your own field by plowing it and then seed it with grass yourself. It was a fun video Daggerwin, thanks :)
Great video. And you have one of the best voices for videos. In fact, I think your voice would be great for documentaries. A little bit of information about this map that may save you from going through the trouble of plowing and planting grass. This map is just like the two that came with the game. That means that unless the area is designated as a "Field" with a number, you can mow anywhere on the map there is grass. You may need to mow around trees, but on this map they are spaced out so much that it is not a problem. The only reason to waste time on this map plowing and planting grass is only if you want to fertilize it. But with so many other places to get grass for free, it is pointless to do. Also, your description shows a link you title "New Platinum Edition DLC". The DLC is actually called the Platinum Expansion. The Platinum Edition is the game and DLC together. Just thought I would mention it in case you have viewers that are new to the game. They might get confused if you call the DLC the Platinum Edition. (Don't mean to nit-pick. Just thought it might be helpful for gamers new to FS). Great videos though. I enjoyed them, and look forward to more.
Hello Daggerwin. If you wish to mow the grass area beside the cow enclosure with all the weeds in it, you can plow the area and replant grass to get rid of the weeds and also you can then fertilize the grass for more output. Hope this helps!
Plenty of open grass on this map, you should make a big of silage to make your cows happier; Turn on your interactive zone markers, this map has a straw zone marked (it is just a few feet from where you stopped, too)
What I do is play two of the same maps use one as a test map so I can see what works and what doesn't ( Ex sample , what I can plow and cant plow ,cultivating ,cutting trees, finding all the sell triggers, what I can mow and what I cant mow , I also test all the modded equipment too so I know what works and don't work then when I'm done , I just delete the test map one. Another Great Video Love watching them. Keep up the great videos .
"Fail Equipment" is a good word.....wait until you first get the A8800 SC-Harvester, the solo harvesting is that way bad thought out that i modded myself an auger wagon for to finally get some fun out of using that harvester... This time giants did a bad job on finding a useful solution for solo-play, a hook-up auger wagon with conveyor belt overload from lizard would have been a good solution but not what you will see soon too....
Normally i don't like to watch the unrealistic gameplay, but that seed bag was quite funny xD Also in options you have apparently turned off the trigger area markings :)
Straw goes where you are standing at the end of the video. That part of the fence. You can always turn trigger markers on on the options page if you can't find one.
That was a brilliant idea Daggerwin, putting the seed pallet on top of the seeder. LOL. I'll go with that solution because the seeder is very poor on tank capacity.
Giants have reduced the cost for animal delivery, not sure if it's in Platinum or a patch, but it used to be 200 for each cow and now it's 150. That means the 24,000 for the trailer would require you buy 160 cows to break even. Good luck with that.
I think using the trailer is fun and adds some realism to the game, I'm sure farmers don't get their cows delivered, but it's not cost effective here. You also have to pay maintenance on the trailer so you spend doing it the more cows you have to buy for it to break even.
If these cows are for slaughtering then i dont think they are going to need straw. Thanx for making a video on the new cows. I think your like the first one to do so. Keep it up!
In Queensland Australian our cattle aren't doing too well because of a drought and the don't have any water because of a massive drought and that's why they're is this thing called the farmers appeal
Just to let you know, if you have fields require plowing every 3 harvests, you will have to at least cultivate the sugarcane field after it regrows 3 times. There is some info in the help menu about it under the sugarcane section.
The bale for cows go just over the fence where you parked the joskin water bowser. The only bit you didn’t try. I was willing you to try it there but my telepathic powers were just not strong enough. 😂
Daggerwin, I think others will agree that this channel should mainly be for farming simulator 17, as we thourly enjoy it. I also think that you should do a time lapse video if not too time consuming on another map and a video of west coast(hard mode) one day and estancia lapacho the next.
Oliver Nunn Timelapse series are Frithgars thing. Daggerwin often copies other ideas from smaller TH-camrs so I think he should do what you said but not that
I usually get 6 hay bales from he patch of grass, the piece of land with grass between the farm and th vehicle store is a pain the work but produces around 60 bales. I got 20 or 21 hay bales from roughly a quarter of that patch. Playing with seasons you can easily get enough to feed 300 sheep without planting a grass field.
That narrow passageway is at first called a “crowding alley” to get the livestock in single file, then it leads to a ramp called a “loading chute” to get the livestock from ground level to semi trailer level (roughly about 36-48” high)
You said that you wont damage the crop by driving in the sown part of the field, but in real life you would prefer to drive over the sown part because you DONT want to have tiremarks on a cultivated part, because than you dont have an even seedbed. And you also drive on the crop when you fertilize it. To make from a long story a short story: in real life you would drive on the sown part and not on the cultivated part!
Hey Daggerwin, there is a pretty open area with trees next 3 and 29. Have you thought of maybe doing some tree cutting and making your own field(crop)? It could be pretty big and pull in a decent amount for almost kneel purchase wise. I understand if you dont though. It should be doable. I made a small crop for grass near the farm bunker.
Grass doesn't change to chaff when you put it in the silage pit, you also put straw/strawbale in the place where you put water tank and joskin trailer.
Hi dagerwin just wanted to say that your doing a fab job of the vids but I do think that u should make an instagram account AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK :-)
Must admit I thought you were going to empty the forage wagon into the fermentation silo to make silage. You already have a baler, so you could have baled the raw grass that you wanted to keep for food. the only other thing you'd be needing is a tedder to make the hay... oh and a mixing wagon.
The last two maps I've started including this one I borrowed more money and did more leasing than I have in the past. It seems to have worked out quite well as I was able to get the equipment I needed to start bringing in a lot of income early on. I am soon able to pay off the loan and any equipment that I think I'm going to be using a lot I go ahead and buy.
its not unrealistic to plant the same crop in a field it is done very often in real life. we only grow wheat and barley and alot of the time there can be the same crop in the same field multiple year at a time. our neighbor plants wheat along the river side every year because it is heavy land and wheat grows better than other crops on heavy land. once every 5 years or so he leaves it barren for a harvest and does not plant it. but i don't think it has ever being not wheat or set aside. also to get more grass plough up that aria you mored and the area next to the silage clamp and next to the silo and plant them with grass so you can fertilize them and get more yield. also so you save the flat square fields for crops. the reeds and long stuff is ploughable
the ground in the uk is very good actually we get way higher yields than farmers do in america. we only have a 75 acre farm and can make a decent living of it growing wheat and barley along with a few fattening cattle
it may be good land but it depends on the whether what yields you get. but i bet there wouldn't be a farm in america only 75 acres that can make enough money to live of only growing wheat, barley and buying cattle to fatten and sell
hi dagger it is near the water Trailer where you have left it and another thing seasons have been updated for the DLC or you can use it on any map it has a little hand tool to get missture or anything you put in the field how bout them apples?
Part of the Seasons Mod was like that where if you returned a vehicle/implement you bought within 30 minutes it would give you a full refund because it considered it a demo.
daggerwin, I beg you can you please get 100 cows or 75 cows and no other animals, than you wil make a load of money every day and when you spend 10 mins per day feeding them you get about 50.000 dollars per day when you have 100 cows
I'm not the one who did the numbers, but I don't buy the small wagon. I'll wait until I have enough money to buy the big semi-trailer (the new mod one that actually carries a realistic number of animals) and buy that. The small trailer just sin't very efficient for any sizable operation.
I do enjoy it when Dagger leases something and then guiltily explains the financial soundness of it.

I just lease it every time
but you can lease it for very little. I found that for more then 10 cows you should lease it .
Good cow-culations!
zokr why would you need to sell them

I think you love this map🤛
You should start plowing your own fields in the places where there is just bushes and trees. Btw thanks for uploading so great content so regularly!

Cane or in this case suger cane is a type of grass, Wich means thats its capable of regrowing after the plants has been cut.
Normally i don't like to watch the unrealistic gameplay, but that seed bag was quite funny xD
Also in options you have apparently turned off the trigger area markings :)
Well, Daggerwin, I suppose its too late now, but you could have saved $31,000(!) by bailing the grass, instead of buying a forage wagon.
That was clever giving the seed bag a ride.
You were standing on the straw trigger at the end! So close! great series eh! Much love from Canada
Straw goes where you are standing at the end of the video. That part of the fence. You can always turn trigger markers on on the options page if you can't find one.

lol I think I will keep paying for delivery then

The place to give cows straw is right in front of your water tanker
Daggerwin are the man off crazy ideas. Like the seed bag :D
In Queensland Australian our cattle aren't doing too well because of a drought and the don't have any water because of a massive drought and that's why they're is this thing called the farmers appeal
The SAME with the 193 hp fortis engine would be the perfect replacement for the stara 105
turbotimthree yeah I agree
Great Series Daggerwin. By the way the straw goes next to the fence where you left it at the end of the vid.
Great farming and enjoying the new map
Just to let you know, if you have fields require plowing every 3 harvests, you will have to at least cultivate the sugarcane field after it regrows 3 times. There is some info in the help menu about it under the sugarcane section.

Hey daggerwin the straw place is right where you put the bale
Just put it over the fence on The greenish orangish land
At 37:23 you can see a pallet of seed that the worker through off earlier when you dropped it on the drill
Awesome daggerwin !!!
Daggerwin, I think others will agree that this channel should mainly be for farming simulator 17, as we thourly enjoy it. I also think that you should do a time lapse video if not too time consuming on another map and a video of west coast(hard mode) one day and estancia lapacho the next.

That new Ferguson have owful sound
Daggerwin built some roads to lead to your farm
That narrow passageway is at first called a “crowding alley” to get the livestock in single file, then it leads to a ramp called a “loading chute” to get the livestock from ground level to semi trailer level (roughly about 36-48” high)
I think the straw goes in the bit round the corner from the grass heading away from loading part the bit with no grass I thinkAlso great vid
You can plow and seed the field at 26:50 minutes so you only have grass
hey there Daggerwin 😃🤗
Daggerwin
Your bale goes just to the right of where you parked the tractor up against the fence.
You said that you wont damage the crop by driving in the sown part of the field, but in real life you would prefer to drive over the sown part because you DONT want to have tiremarks on a cultivated part, because than you dont have an even seedbed. Hi put the straw bale in the area by the fence in front of where you parked the water tanker
Daggerwin u r the best TH-camr in the world
Lmao
Great job, keep up the great work 😀

It is left of the water tank, that is where you should put your straw bales.
Game mechanics, the sea is fresh.
Grass doesn't change to chaff when you put it in the silage pit, you also put straw/strawbale in the place where you put water tank and joskin trailer.
Thanks i didnt really think about it.
Hi dagerwin just wanted to say that your doing a fab job of the vids but I do think that u should make an instagram account

Daggerwin instead of you bringing the pallets to the field, can you get a seed tender to take to the field because that will be more realistic
Hello daggerwin
I have a challenge for you. Sometime during this let's play you will buy field 29 plant sugarcane on it and harvest it.
Dagger you should just have bought the New Holland discbine mower. Then you wouldn't have had to buy 2 mowers and lease a tractor
Keep it up Dagger. Loving the new map and DLC.
Hey daggerwin just heard you say about that calculation sorry I have lost it😊😊
Hi dagger, love this video more than anyone because me and my grandparents used to be dairy farmers
its not unrealistic to plant the same crop in a field it is done very often in real life. we only grow wheat and barley and alot of the time there can be the same crop in the same field multiple year at a time. our neighbor plants wheat along the river side every year because it is heavy land and wheat grows better than other crops on heavy land. once every 5 years or so he leaves it barren for a harvest and does not plant it. but i don't think it has ever being not wheat or set aside. also to get more grass plough up that aria you mored and the area next to the silage clamp and next to the silo and plant them with grass so you can fertilize them and get more yield. also so you save the flat square fields for crops. the reeds and long stuff is ploughable

joseph jackson there are tons and tons of small farms here I am within driving distance of at least 100 or more
Cattle corn cotton soybeans wheat sheep sorghum all types of small farms
where are you from and what size are the farms
Why didn't you put the extra grass in the silage pit? Then you would have silage for the cows too.
Daggerwin I got two tips you can plow the gras field andere seed it again then you can fertilize it and some crops take more seed then others
When u put grass in a silage pit it does turn into chaff even if u take it back out of the pit
ll PlaZ ye
lease when you need to conserve money its is a good option
the bale trigger is just to the right of where you left the bale at the end, you need to place it next to the fence.
Saw you at straw harvest add-on;)
Tobias Bronkhorst me too
Not sure what you mean?
The third party add-on
Oh yeah I have seen that :)
And you can also pick up the tipped grass with the forager wagon
As a pass time dagger likes to water his cows apparently
daggerwin you should use the realistic animals price mod
At the start of this video, there was an ad... for farming simulator 17 platinum edition...
Teagan Ryan for me too. And I watched it
Hi daggerwin. Just wondering when you are going to play on the West Coast again ?
You can put a front mower on the front and the bailer on the back
The straw trigger is by the fence right from the bale
the trigger for the straw is where you parked the water tank
great vid keep up the great work
Do you have the weather set right? For any rain or is it always sunny?
Please buy a pressure washer
do you know when farming simulator 18 is coming
It's already out.
Plant a grass field
You can put the mower on the back
I love your vids really helps
160 cows or more to make the trailer cheaper than just having them delivered
Hey maybe you should get sheep because the wool and how much you get just saying keep up the vids.
Where your trailer Tipper trailer and your water trailer is go in front of your water trailer and that's where the bail part is
How did you tip that cut grass from the pottinger forage wagon without the mound pushing the trailer up on top of it?
Just luck I guess...no mods installed
5600 and 5700 series (and smaller) only have dyna-4. At least i have never heard about anyone with dyna-VT and i am quite a MF lover:)
Yeah I think you are right
the bale area is near where you buy cow spot, you parked water tanker there.
hi dagger it is near the water Trailer where you have left it and another thing seasons have been updated for the DLC or you can use it on any map it has a little hand tool to get missture or anything you put in the field how bout them apples?
Don't call it leasing call it your having a tractor on demo that sounds more realistic hopefully there's a mod
Dabbing Penguin but you don’t pay for demo
Ryan Williams yeah I meant to say he should get a mod
Part of the Seasons Mod was like that where if you returned a vehicle/implement you bought within 30 minutes it would give you a full refund because it considered it a demo.
What advantage did a front and single back mower give you over a butterfly mower? Then you wouldn’t have had to lease another tractor.
If I only had the rear butterfly mower then it would leave a gap in the middle
Daggerwin that makes sense. I’ve never played the game so only know what I see in your videos.
the "run" for the cattle is called a race
that seed bag was funny
daggerwin, I beg you can you please get 100 cows or 75 cows and no other animals, than you wil make a load of money every day and when you spend 10 mins per day feeding them you get about 50.000 dollars per day when you have 100 cows
Just to let you know to solve the equation you have to divide the extra cost per cow by the price of the trailer
Love thus serious
Nice video Daggerwin.
you need to use the case for the billet planter because it requires 140 hp, and the stara only has 108 hp
With massy mowers to Argo bought Lily equipment
Will you buy the NH 8340, or sell the Stara off for a bigger Stara Tractor?
I watched Iain Robsons video on this map he said someone said all those weed looking things you can plow them to make a field so they will go away.
put some of that grass in the silage pit
Hey dagger will you be doing a model farm video soon?
no
I'm not the one who did the numbers, but I don't buy the small wagon. I'll wait until I have enough money to buy the big semi-trailer (the new mod one that actually carries a realistic number of animals) and buy that. The small trailer just sin't very efficient for any sizable operation.
