    This guy likes to talk. Hearing the amp would sell me more then hearing words like breakup, chime, gigging, crunch,...
    Boring!

    Oddly enough, you can hear the amp buzzing…. Same problem I have with my 50 watt head…. Prs fix the buzz !

    I’m not even kidding I tried the sonzera 50 head with a 212 stealth cab and it sounded better than any other amp I put it up against!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t even know how these aren’t sold out they are INSANE!!!!!!!!!

    I have one. There is some white noise/hiss on the Sonzera, but it's not unusable at all. I mean, I've had Riveras that were WAY noisier. It's not Mesa quiet, but frankly, my Mark V has a fan in it that runs which is more annoying IMO.

    60's Fender amps were loud and difficult to break up. They went to a quick break-up in the 70's. GUESS WHAT. Fender's going back to the 60's. Thank You very much. Simple and direct. Could that be why they cost so much now?

    Not that I don't like Brian, but when I see an nstuff video I'd like to hear their guys. I mean I can and have already heard Brian on PRS's channel.

    When they presented this I was really interested. But with every demo I'm less into it. Sound so fuzzy.

    Ok here is an update to whomever is interested. After close to 1 month of shows, I noticed speaker pop on channel 2, in addition to losing reverb on channel 1. Amp was still playable however, any type of movement or pressure on top of amp would cause the tubes or circuitry, unsure what to cause loud crackling and shorting out. I called a very good company who I bought the amp from and they overnighted a new amp, just in time for a big show. I tested the amp briefly, all good. After set up and during soundcheck, I went to Dirty sound, POP, Lost 90 percent of volume. Strumming guitar it would come in and out sporadically, absolutely useable! This was the second BRAND NEW prs sonzera amp 50 with similar issues. Needless to say I personally will not be using any PRS amps. This may be bad luck, bad batch, who knows, however I cannot afford the unreliability of this amp. My set up is an Array Schmidt Pedal Board, similar setup to Pete thorns on slightly smaller scale. I play with Suhr Classic Pro and Fender Custom Strat. Top of the line stuff, very disappointed in the quality of this amp
    .

      That's unfortunate. These amps seem to have so much to offer and the price is right.

    .....BUT.......why doesn't somebody demo this amp with a blues setup? That is the only unknown thing that stands between me and buying one of these.

    PRS / N Stuff - can you confirm/refute that there is a persistent noise/buzz on the clean channel? I've heard others mention it, and it's fairly obvious in this video. For instance @6:03. Or is that typical noise from lighting EM interference? You don't hear it when his volume is down... thx

    • @gdhi11
      @gdhi11 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, it has some hiss, but it's not awful. At halfway it's audible, but on stage or in a club the audience will drone it out.

      There is noise, but it's still super-usable.

    I ended up purchasing the Sonzera 50 combo. The amp itself is amazingly loud, great tone. The ability to structure your tone with manipulation of Master volume and Volume is pretty cool. The construction is solid and amp is HEAVY! After several shows I have a few notes on it,
    1: The hissing does get under my skin at times but is a none issue once playing.
    2: There seems to be a popping/ crackle, rattle breakup, unsure how to describe at high gain. Maybe just my amp, have to check with MFG.
    3: Although it loves pedals, I run my pedals thru Moen GEC9 and before I switch on the standby on Amp, I have to make sure I select a setting on my GEC9. Otherwise if amp is fully on, then hit/turn on GEC9, there s a loud Pop! I don't have this issue with my Fender HotRod or Blackstar ID260.
    Aside from that Im happy with the PRS Sonzera so far, wish it had an out DI.

    Thanks for this video! I was having trouble dialing in a good tone, I didn't realize that the Master and Volume controls both color the sound.

      Yeah, I just bought one. Number 260 or something. They are making about 12 a week I've heard. My understanding is that they are being produced with Chinese components but final assembly is done here in the USA.

    Sounds Fizzy to me and Noisy.

    • @gdhi11
      @gdhi11 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's not fizzy unless you consider a 70s Marshall fizzy. I would say there is a lot of muscle and midrange on tap. The bass is pretty throaty and muscular, I have to ride the bass knob depending on the cabinet I'm using (own the head)

      I bought this amp yesterday and had the same problem using a cheap jack. The fuzzy noise disappeared simply using a 20€ jack, and only a sort of white noise (not really annoying, but still present) was left.
      Anyway, the amp features a great balanced clean tone, perfect for both blues and jazz comping as well as soloing.
      When I switch to the gain channel, any intrusive sound seems to disappear, and only the normal high-drive noise remains as I get more distorted tones.

    This is one of the better demos on this amp that I've seen. sometimes its good too talk through an demo so we can see and hear what the product can so. Everyone has a preference on which company's product that they choose. I really get so tired of when someone demos a guitar amp everything is on '10' and its distortion for ever. The most important channel on an amp (to me ) is the clean channel. Without a good clean channel the amp (to me ) is virtually useless. I like this amp. Looking forward to demoing one .
