  • Takeoff, climb to 1500, get a stall speed(43 IAS dunno CAS yet), spiral down, land, shut it down, look it over and think about it all a while.
    Come along for the ride if you like!

    Nice job Joe! Most people have no idea what it takes to build an airplane from scratch and fly it. Beautiful work!

    Joe, have you posted any specs on your SS bird? Looks and sounds great. Met one of your buddies, he flies for FedEx, his daughter flies a Piper Pacer. I've been looking at your vids for awhile now, will keep on.

    Joe, I am not a pilot, thence the question. Do the turbo chargers on an air craft engine not need a certain amount of idling down time to cool them down like the turbochargers on a diesel truck engine? I noticed you turned your engine off immediately after you quit rolling. Metal is metal and if it cools down to quickly it hardens and becomes brittle. Just wondering.

    • @ohwell2790
      @ohwell2790 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no turbo charger on this airplane. What made you think the engine is turbocharged? Aircraft that have turbochargers would cool down on decent to the airport, and taxi to parking anyway and would not require a cool down upon shut down. Good question from a non pilot. Maybe Robert, you should think about getting a pilots license, or LSA license. Flying is a lot of book work and practical instructor flying and is worth the effort. Go for it if you can.

    • @robertcarmody612
      @robertcarmody612 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Darrell Grisham As I said I am a non pilot and I asked the question out of my ignorance on the subject. I just assumed any aircraft motor would be running a turbocharger. I’ve since learned that a few motors are turbocharged, but it is not the norm. I’m seriously considering getting a license for light sport aircraft and I greatly appreciate your reply. Thank you!
