@@MatsBengtsson Especially considering it has happened several times before, in modern ports, quite recently, costing the lives of several divers inspecting bow thrusters. I believe that you are safe considering all the safety procedures, but having said that, you are a brave man none the less!
paega86 hello! You would need a licens for commercial diving. It is nothing like the recreational diving. Redundant air supplies and everything is about safety on an other level. There are courses for it. Thanks for watching!
So what is propellers wash. And what causes it. Also on your other video of you cleaning the screw would all that stuff make a noticeable difference in the screws performance?
All the barnacles and crud add massive amounts of drag to the shaft line, as well as can create areas that will cavitate on the backside of the propeller blade.
@@akimbojimbo3763 ok cool. Thanks for the answer. I would assume that larger amounts of the cavitation would do damage to metal blades. Like the piston liners of a diesel engine.

@@snoopytheace4487 good question, I'm not sure. You're talking about the copper based stuff? Only reason I can think of is they can't achieve a high enough surface finish to keep it efficient

You don’t need a degree....just grab some gear from any local shop and go for it.

Isn't the propeller and rudder supposed to be completely underwater?
Not when the ship is unloaded, it floats up.
Especially when its unloaded including the ballast, they can float very high.
High as actually seeing half of the propeller itself.
