Hi Zara, I have just started my first year of my adult nursing degree. I am really worried about the maths aspect of the degree as it isn’t my strongest subject. I was wondering if you could explain what the ‘safe medicate’ subject entails. At the moment I’m over thinking and wondering how complicated it is. Thank you!
Hello Kat, I am not too familiar with that term as a subject, perhaps its worded differently for your degree. However, regarding your worry on maths, this is a natural feeling. In all fields of Nursing we will mainly be using heavy maths skills in our drug calculation exams. As a first year this isn't something you need to worry about yet, as this year focuses on building core skills and getting orientated to placements. I had a really good mentor in my first year, first placement and she used to write drug calculation questions for me every couple of weeks so I could practice, perhaps this is something you can consider :) x
Yaay. .I'm a new subbie and first here 🤗 I'm addicted to you and your videos already.. would you do a video on Nursing Care assessment if you can. Thanks..lotsa love 💕

Thank youu 😇 Lots of my coursemates balanced HCA work alongside their studies and yes it is possible to have a uni/work life balance :) ! Its natural to feel nervous, but take your time and find what works for you :)
Hi Zara , thanks for this video it was very informative 🥰. Please could you help me and answer these questions Is nursing linked to alevel biology a lot ? , is the math content really heavy ? Can you specialise into dermatology after nursing ?
You are very welcome!! It is preferable to have a biology A-level, some universities have it as a compulsory subject whereas others don't. In your nursing degree, you have to do a drug calculations examination, which is maths based. If you wish to specialise in dermatology then Yes you can if a job post becomes available :)!
Thank you for the video ! I’ve just started first year child nursing🥰
You’re welcome 😊Ahh best of luck in your first year :Dxx
