May I know why you are using God Particle plugin on the master?
I tried it for a month, at first I didn’t like it but after some time with it I found that it isn’t a bad plugin at all. It is very useful for doing fast mixes for live recordings. You can get a decent sound to give to the band for listening their gig back without having to put a lot of time into it. I didn’t buy it but it isn’t a bad tool.
I think I would agree with you. Having it for a quick mix for a demo without spending too much time, it could help also bands-artists that are on a budget. This plugin for sure has its place!
In my opinion better results could be possible with smarteq4, it's not set-up to its full potential yet. For example, for every instance, a source profile should be chosen (next to the learn function). On 'universal' the suggestions try to flatten the equalised output. That is exactly what happened, the results soundend more flat. Another good practice when the group function is used, the 'dynamic' parameter should be engaged for better results. For vocals the dynamic parameter can do a fantasting job (like you would expect from a dynamic eq), taming resonances. Cheers from a fellow producer, keep rocking!
sadly the most Important parameters can't be midi controlled via a controller (i.e. the smart slopes width adaptive etc.) I wrote them an email but not actually sure they will address that stuff.

Sounded better with smart eq on.
I bought both smart: eq and smart: reverb and I stopped using both! The smart: reverb is a dud! A machine can't replace your ears as far as reverbs go. IMHO, reverb needs the human touch as that's a creative call. As for the smart: eq, I found that the plugin was making my guitars sound bad! It also messed with my piano tracks in a negative way. So I just sh*tcanned them both! No one needs smart reverbs or eq's! Those should be left up to your imagination!
IMHO you're using this not the way it was intended. I feel like you didn't really tweak the smart curve at all to make sense. For example - if you'd have activated the adaptive on the guitar lead and chords example, cut the low smart processing and put them on one depth layer, it would probably have sounded way better the way I know that EQ. Then you have a starting point from where you shouldn't just go like "it's done" but do your compressing, maybe some more manual EQ on top, achieving a similar result quite quickly.
in my opinion the smart-eq wasn't very smart at all .. most settings made no sense. no one would ever eq like that ;)
In some occasions it could help beginner music producers-mix engineers but experienced mix engineers wouldn’t even touch it.
You should see my eq settings or compressor settings sometimes, try it out do something crazy like 25 dB compression on a vocal or using an LA2A on snare. May look crazy but sounds amazing 😉
Its useful because its consistent, you can easily make different takes sound like one take. I personally use it to get the elements in my mix in the right ball park, this way i'm adjusting my faders more accurately before really digging into mix, I don't want a 100hz rumble to cause me to turn my guitar way down when it shouldn't even be there. I could of course do this with a regular eq plugin but this is much faster and more consistent. You pretty much know what its trying to get your kick to sound like, our how its trying to eq your snare and the more familiar you get with what its doing the faster you can shape it to your liking. It lets you build a solid foundation to mix with.
