He asked me if I was stealing his fruit? (She says this in a way like he asked her such an abnormal thing) If she wants to become poisonous, isn’t the stinger what she needs?
She said she wanted to be a scorpion cause no one can hurt them. But I remember as a kid a scorpion was on my backpack as a kid, yelled about the scorpion, and the teacher smashed it with a book. Not so indestructible
"maybe i was allergic to the venom after all!" the sheer stupidity in that statement is going to make me pass away okay but also don't some cultures eat scorpions? like is eating scorpions _really_ grounds for putting someone in a mental institution???
honestly it's greatly overexaggerated. People will AVOID putting you in a mental hospital unless you're a danger to yourself or others. And I mean, it has to be extreme, like a suicide or murder attempt. Even though my dad tried to kill my mom and the police just let him off with a slap on the wrist. So it depends on how seriously people take things.
@@heiltotheking Holy shit i'm so sorry to hear about what happened with your parents. Scorpions are actually fine to eat if you remove the pointy part of the tail =) good survival strategy! Also I think some ppl/cultures eat them normally as a snack
To be fair to her parents, she WAS kinda crazy. She knew her brother had brain and developmental issues and her response was to become venomous and bite him back, wtf. Also she was hoarding scorpions in secret. She's the bad guy in her own story.
Made a funny comment at first but it makes me so incredibly angry that they are presenting disgustingly ableist views as normal and disabled people as literal animals. And asks us to think it's fine and dandy to abandon your disabled kid and unfair to the " normal" kid to treat your disabled as an equal, presenting disabled people as violent. They are teaching this to children. They are training ableism into kids.
@@Undefinedde ableism is when someone discriminates against a person with a disability. This is usually because they assume stereotypes, such as thinking someone diagnosed with a mental health issue like psychosis is a "psycho" and is going to hurt ppl. Basically it's similar to things like racism and homophobia, except aimed at disabled ppl. Irl, disabled ppl are more likely to the victims of abuse than to be the ones hurting ppl. A lot of tv shows and movies, such as the horror movie "Split" uses disabled ppl as crazy dangerous villains. This helps ableism spread, because it's where most ppl get their information from. If all you see on tv are mentally ill ppl being violent, you'll think that all mentally ill ppl irl will be violent
There's a lot of dumb parts about it, but the throwing in the psychiatric ward for eating something some people in some cultures eat normally really bugged me. My grandad has eaten much weirder stuff than scorpions while abroad that's for sure.
Because I have nothing better to do, let me run through ALL the reasons this wouldn't work. 1. Scorpion venom is located only in the tail, so if that gets cut off, no venom is ingested upon consumption. 2. While it's not recommended that you ingest venom, it cannot hurt you or anyone else in this form; venom is only harmful when directly passed into the bloodstream by way of, in this case, the animal's stinger (this is simply something to keep in mind). 3. This is probably the most obvious: even if a human were able to consume and reuse venom, we do not possess the necessary parts to pass it on: in this case, the character uses her teeth to infect others, but humans do not have fangs, nor a place to store or eject venom, so this is complete bs. In conclusion: it may be possible (though I'd have to research first) to be poisoned by biting or eating something that has recently been poisoned (especially if it's in large amounts), but the same logis does not apply to venom; if you ate a scorpion with its stinger, the venom would not affect your health to any extreme, and if you cut off the stinger first, it would make no difference at all. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. Edit: ok so it turns out they knew this was too far-fetched and the title was just clickbait. So that was a lot of wasted time. Anyway, I hope someone learned something from this at least
well i think eating a venomous animal would be okay, but definitely not if it's poisonous (still risky if you remove the poisonous bits) dont quote me on that tho lol
It usually is. Venom is designed to enter the body through the skin and stomach acid can destroy it. It’s made of large delicate molecules usually whereas poison is stronger smaller molecules that won’t be destroyed as easily by acid.
I know right? I know a guy with brain damage (from a work place accident) and he's a nice person. He only has balance problems (he falls easely so he has to use a wheelchair a lot) and speech problems. Also my childhood home's neighbour has brain damage from operation to remove a braincancer during the 60's. She's overly nice lady but she basically acts and talks like a young child (she's over 70 years old) I'm sure damage to a certain area of the brain can make someone actually violent but from what I know most people who have brain damage aren't violent towards others or act like sosiopaths 🤷♀️ it's sad that the people who wrote this story seem to think that way.
that might actually be the most fucked up animated story we've heard, in part because the whole 'being institutionalized without consent' is like. something that happens a lot. i'm almost unhappy i watched this because it reminded me of when i was put in a psych hospital without consent. that's nothing against joinen or anything, i just didn't realize that's where the story was going.
i find it pretty funny because where i am, you just CAN'T put someone in an institution without their consent. Even if the person really needs to be put into one, the moment they tell you no, you can't do anything about it. I've been abused my whole life by my bipolar dad and he refused to get help or even acknowledge he was sick. I wish people would stop looking at hospitals as some shady research facility that only does bad shit to people. Hell, people see help as bad if they don't get what they want.
@@heiltotheking it's very unfortunate that you had to experience that, but the hospital i was shoved into with threats of going to jail if i didn't comply had scorpions running around and the staff physically threatening minors. a lot of them genuinely are bad, and a lot of them are not there to help people. they're meant to be another form of incarceration. i'm overall pretty pro-'getting help when your brain is fucked up', but like, if the help doesn't actually help you, doesn't that mean it *was* bad?
@@Anna-B lol it's cool. the other comment i just replied to reminded me that the hospital i was forced into actually had scorpions running around XD the patients (all minors) had to kill them cause the staff freaked out lmao, it was such a weird place. and right? there are tons of cultures that eat scorpions and much weirder things like...regularly.
The stinger, also known as the telson, lies at the tip of the scorpion's tail. It features a bulb. This is where the scorpion's venom is both produced and stored.
Venom - if ingested - can still be dangerous if it finds it's way into your bloodstream, like if you have *any* cuts in your mouth or you happen to have something wrong internally, can be real bad for you
My impression of the beginning half of the story - she clearly is planning on killing her brother, right? Like she wants to become poisonous, I guess she never specifically says *why* she wants to be poisonous ... but considering the entire story before that has been about how much she hates her brother and it quote “has to end” ... I feel like it’s a logical conclusion to assume she wants to kill her brother, or at least harm him. But then suddenly she’s attempting murder against some girls who insulted her brother? And then is all upset and “won’t be able to live with herself” if something happens to him? What the hell?

For some reason I was waiting for the scorpion venom to magically heal her brother.
Psssst! If your kids are "bad" it's because YOU are a bad parent. It's YOUR responsibility to figure out what your kid needs to become a functioning human.
He asked me if I was stealing his fruit? (She says this in a way like he asked her such an abnormal thing)
If she wants to become poisonous, isn’t the stinger what she needs?
She said she wanted to be a scorpion cause no one can hurt them. But I remember as a kid a scorpion was on my backpack as a kid, yelled about the scorpion, and the teacher smashed it with a book. Not so indestructible
"maybe i was allergic to the venom after all!"
the sheer stupidity in that statement is going to make me pass away
okay but also don't some cultures eat scorpions? like is eating scorpions _really_ grounds for putting someone in a mental institution???
honestly it's greatly overexaggerated.
That's terrible that it wasn't taken seriously

Plot twist: she eats for breakfast people who have a scorpion as a zodiac sign.
Hehe, I’m in trouble.
Scorpions are actually fine to eat if you remove the pointy part of the tail =) good survival strategy! Also I think some ppl/cultures eat them normally as a snack
I had them in a candy, it tasted great!
And she got put in a pcych ward for doing it
To be fair to her parents, she WAS kinda crazy.

Exactly what I was thinking,I thought it was really gross
This isn't even the only time. Most of their videos have ableist concepts in them but it really is painfully obvious in this one.
@@angiewinchester3384 what’s ableist mean

Oh my god them saying “poisonous” instead of venomous has been annoying so much 😭
Because I have nothing better to do, let me run through ALL the reasons this wouldn't work.

People eat Pufferfish though, so I guess you can eat poisonous animals if you prepare them the right way.
Why is no one talking about how the venom won't work without the stinger? That's literally the point of a stinger

Why does the video paint people with brain damage as psychopaths? Kind of offensive, is it not?
It is.
Aww, I’m sorry it brought up bad memories! Also, eating scorpions is not something you’d be institutionalized for. At least not for a month
i find it pretty funny because where i am, you just CAN'T put someone in an institution without their consent.

Human bites are actually really nasty, not surprised she had a scar
There’s lolipops in Mexico that have scorpions inside
My impression of the beginning half of the story - she clearly is planning on killing her brother, right? Like she wants to become poisonous, I guess she never specifically says *why* she wants to be poisonous ... but considering the entire story before that has been about how much she hates her brother and it quote “has to end” ... I feel like it’s a logical conclusion to assume she wants to kill her brother, or at least harm him. But then suddenly she’s attempting murder against some girls who insulted her brother? And then is all upset and “won’t be able to live with herself” if something happens to him? What the hell?
it's actually a normal reaction to have. The moment you don't feel remorse for thinking about murdering someone close to you, you become a sociopath.

that intro was a work of art
before this fake animated story trend started, several years ago i got recommended an animated story about a girl who had a brother who had ASPD and was abusive and violent towards her. i'm pretty sure it was from one of those legitimate channels that takes in real stories since there was no random bullshit about eating things that aren't food or getting super powers or whatever, and it was pretty short and didn't have a happy ending or call to action in the comments or anything.
