Mutants killing mutants? Or People killing people? Or White cops killing black people? Terms like black on black crime exist because it is true. Just like white on white crime is a term because it exists. Which stat is higher? Does that number matter? Black on black crime was created by white people? I am pretty sure that both were created by their respective races, and the term was only spoken by "people" not created by a specific race. You blame Detroit and gangs on white people, I blame it on people not going to the library as a hobby and instead forming gangs. Not all white people like cops. Mutants are the minority, not black people. Your ass isn't the minority in Africa and atrocities happen there as well. Preach on Brotha. realist commentary ever. this issue hit home in very real ways. my new fav comic channel 4 real. of course they will have some "because comics" way to bring them back but the dialogue was real AF. Hickman is tapping into all the civil rights roots of what made the xmen great to begin with. its event level Wednesdays in comics the way GOT used to be for sundays on TV. if feige has the stones to adapt this kind of story telling in a bold way the new x flics will be nuts.
This book is hitting me so hard because I know what it's like to be a mutant from just trying to live my life in America. There's 2 groups of people that go through the hate the mutants are going through & it's all mostly in America just like it is for the mutants. 1. People of Color 2. LGBTQ I'm LGBTQ & in my state we cant adopt without going through Hell, denied housing, denied the ability to get married in a lot of venues & most churches & can lose our jobs just for not being straight & that's the "nicer" things that can happen to us. We're harassed, beat up, assaulted & killed every damn day because we're not what the bible says is ok. So it's alright to abuse & murder people if your "Man-Written" book says it's so but for me to marry my partner & adopt children who need homes it isn't, WTF?I The only thing that makes sense is this book & how it's moved those of us who aren't straight & white but has been harmed by those who are.
Wasn't it Cassandra Nova who had that 16.5 million mutants murdered on Genosha? And Charles Xavier ended up shooting that b*tch to death at the end? At least that's what I remembered when I read that story. I still have it here somewhere too.
Great commentary. Definitely like how this arc is going, along with the parallels of real life. Reminiscent of Marvel in the 60s and 70s. Stan Lee would be proud.
This entire read of HoX 4 had me in my feels from the first page. I legit shed tears because their deaths (while likely not permanent) hit really hard. I've also been of the mind that I've wanted Wanda and QS to be retconned back into mutants, but after reading this issue i think it's safe to say that's not going to happen.
Yeah I don't think Wanda or Quicksilver will be brought back into the fold. But I'm right there with you. I initially thought "Wow... plane blown up... they'll survive that..." Turned the first page... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Mad Love Blerd, gotta give you props for videos… Love how you explain deeper and/or hidden messages in comics. I’ve been reading the X-Men since 1980 along with a multitude of others. My partner and I have INTENSE conversations about the X-Men and their surrounding characters. With that said… We’re LOVING the start of Hickman’s run: A Mutant nation governed by Xavier, Moira and Magneto; Good & Bad mutants working together for their survival; the Krakoan language and the gifts they’ve given humanity. However, I’m not feeling this last issue and would love to have a round table discussion about it.
Why didn't Nightcrawler just teleport to each lever.... or Jean just telekinetically switch the levers. Just kidding! loved this story and the suspense. Can we all agree that Wolverine, Cyclops, & Nightcrawler are the most capable X-Men. Would love to see them give Colossus a boss moment in this arc too
I think we'll see soon enough. Everyone has gotten a little showcase here or there. I think we'll see more of them for other characters very soon. But yeah... The true GOATs died up there
@@BlerdWithoutFear I've always been on the fence about Marvel Girl lol ... I guess Hickman said her damsel in distress act is something that just can't be retconned lmao
Always love your commentaries! Great one. And i support waiting for more concrete evidence for production, as these videos are timeless and will be viewed at any time. Stay factual not dated.
Exactly! Thank you for understanding! People are all the time telling me how wrong I am for a video I made 2 years ago lol. But yeah, I felt Hickman was REALLY hitting some deep issues here. Just the way the X-Men should.
Dude. Excellent video. You're statement about the social commentary was spot on. And it totally jived with my take of it. As a trans woman, I can't tell you how many times I've been to the place where Xavier was when he uttered "No More." It was a heartbreaking and resoundingly effective IMO. I really appreciate that you had the courage to bring that all up. We need more comic book content producers like you on TH-cam.
Thank you, Ali! I always feel like people are too afraid to speak up. If I can be the one to shine a light on it, I'll do it. I refuse to waste my platform. If I can shine a light on something, even if it doesn't directly affect me. I'll do it every time.
I just remembered Sabretooth and Mystique are Graydon Creed's parents. If you believe X-Men Forever(2009) is canon, Mystique is the one who assassinated Graydon at his presidential campaign rally. My mind is racing. How would non-mutant children be treated by their mutant parents and other mutants on Krakoa?
Great commentary. I actually teared up a bit at this issue because it was sad, but also because I was so happy to feel what I used to feel reading X-Men books in the 80s and 90s. As far as the issue, I think Mystique knew something that caused her to be off her game. Remember in the book leading up to this, she was distracted. Also thinking back to her original mission (wish Toad and Sabretooth), she seemed to hint at having another motive for obeying Charles and Erik. Remember, Mystique likely also knows about Moira thanks to Destiny, so she might know things that nobody else does.
This also ties in various ideologies in Metal Gear Solid too. Well written, And ma man, great commentary i remember clocking your channel way before it hardly had any views and knew you will be the Steve Jobs of comic commentary. Take care dude.
Man, Mystique was up to something. They alluded to her having Krakoan flowers when Cyclops was making sure she was listening, and she should have been able more than anyone to flip her switch. She didnt even shapeshift as we saw. And apparently Xavier still owed her something for the damage control break in? Im just saying something is going on there. But if she doesnt come back, RIP Mystique, you're my favorite!!!! 💙💙💙
Damn you told me night crawler would teleport them away still in my feelings 🤮☠️☠️☠️🤯🤯🤯 hopefully they were first gen clones from mars, cyclops is still the man just wish he could of kept his chair open a little while longer and given some more fades with style as always plus ultra
Man Ernie I tell you right now I read this comic and instantly waited for your commentary.... you do the X-Men so much Justice... I have never been so proud and sad within two pages... you see Wolverine being a badass and cyclops getting double tapped
Damn, Hickman. You make me mad. Mad that you are turning me around on this thing you're doing here. I wasn't onboard, and to be honest I still have some reservations, but now I'm seeing this series as Marvel's way of bringing mutants back but updating the conflicts of old, moving a lot of the older characters out of the way and wiping the slate clean so as to bring them into the 21st century and make them more viable for the current comic book fans and perhaps ready them for the MCU down the line.
Did anyone else feel like they were watching a movie while reading? The pacing, the emotion and that sublime artwork gave the whole thing a cinematic feel. And the Mystique panel took me out!
I subscribed because of the analogies that you pointed out. Fictional stories like this helps create empathy and understanding of marginalized populations and their realities. Keep up the good work!!!.

Thank you very much! You brought back that real-world connection which was one of the reasons the X-Men were created in the first place. Some may not want to hear it but I rather liked you pointing out the parallels. As for the issue, All Hell Is about to break loose on Earth 616.
My exact thoughts after reading this book were "Those sons of b*tches, they killed my kids" Also "See guys? You should have dropped everybody on that station from the start, would have saved us a lot of time"
12:12 This scene between Nightcrawler and Wolverine was so heartbreaking and transcendent. I also teared up reading this issue. I got to say this story and what comes afterwards should be the Endgame of the X-Men MCU run. This is the way our uncanny band of mutants should go out.
Standing ovation for this video my brother!!! Thank you for your honesty and being real with what this series is doing regarding commentary of what's going on today. #Salute #allheroesdontwearcapes
One of the best storylines this year & the best X-Men storyline in years. Every issue makes you want more. All of them went out like some Gs (except Jean lol). I know everybody will be back because they wouldn’t kill off a recently resurrected Jean/Wolverine/Cyclops. Plus they & even Havok is on the upcoming X-Men 1 cover. They was on some Avengers End Game ish (whatever it takes). On a deeper note, you felt the pain when Xavier said, “No More” & how every mutant had their head down in grief/respect/honor their fallen. Sad that some people don’t realized X-Men are basically Black/Brown people. Don’t think so? Where do you think the classic line, “People fear what they don’t understand.” came from? As a black man we feel this way too much in real life. You’re right Xavier NO MORE. NO MORE mass shootings, NO MORE “I felt threaten for my life.” excuse, NO MORE dying in police custody, NO MORE breaks for the rich, NO MORE disadvantages for the poor/middle class, NO MORE injustice of any kind. We will rise to the occasion, be better not bitter, be smarter not salty. Change is coming and there’s nothing the privileged can do. As Emma said, “It’s a brave new world darlings. Best get used to it.”🙅🏾♂️💯🔥
The only thing I can think about after reading this issue is the scene in The Godfather after Sonny is killed. Don Corleone just says "My boy...look how they massacred my boy..."
Also youre comparison to the mutants and the violence against minority groups...👏🏿. I immediately thought the same thing after reading the words "THOSE PEOPLE".
That's why I think there's more going on behind the scenes. Have you heard the theory that the real X-Men are didn't die on that mission, but are either with the Shi'Ar, or in KRAKOA's No-Place tumor. And that the reason Prof X allowed Scott to choose this team for this mission in order use the resulting tragedy to rally remaining mutants like Apocalypse, Exodus, ECT, to Krakoa.
Great video bro, and I'm really enjoying both of these series. It really goes to show how good X-men can be when someone writes with purpose for these characters.
So some of the quintessential Xmen are now dead. I'm guessing that this timeline is still not going to end well because there is no way all of those big stars are dead for good. However, I have to say none of those deaths were cheap. So it's almost certain Moira is getting that 11th life
11th life is most likely a guarantee now. Especially considering that everyone is back after this. So the real question is WTF is going down to make that occur
Blerd, You are exactly right when you bought up the comparison of the X-Men and the crimes within and on minorities as of late. It is a spot on representation of what's going on today. Kudos 👍👍... Videos always 🔥🔥🔥
This was a video game mission/social commentary/space horror movie/MCU "Infinity War" level cliffhanger all rolled into a comic book! Nightcrawler, M and Wolverine went out like real "G's!" I can't even talk about my man, Cyclops. And Jean..damn, Damn, DAMN!!!!!
E! Not only is this another great video, I appreciate the fact that I had to go and subscribe to what I think is going to be a classic for the ages. And you are spot on to the relevant topics that are being addressed in this story as it applies to today. This what set Marvel apart from DC back in the day. And if anyone leaves the channel due to your speaking on it, then they weren't really down in the first place. And if they have something to say about it, to quote Jay Lethal quoting Ric Flair, they're going to learn that jumping on is a lot easier than jumping off! +ultra
Let be real
The real twist is how a suicide mission is actual a suicide mission
Superthor c who woulda thunk it?
Like, typically in comics a suicide mission is hardly that threatening... But here... Shadow Realm is filling up QUICK

Hickman really ripped our heart out in this one , wolverine die in probably the best death I've seen for him die with a blaze of glory my boy Kurt give the best speech ever period , cyclops last words saying jean I'm sorry I won't make back jean death was also brutal man they really got killed brutally , storm fall on her knees devastated by the lost of her friends and family magneto , beast felt sadness, rage by the lost , and lastly one of the best moment In this issue is charles letting those tear out like a parent crying for the lost of his son for lost of his children's that hit you strong No more. oh man now magneto and charles are pissed as hell now even though we know their getting resurrected but still get revenge for our boys and girls erik and charles 😢😢😭😭😭. Hickman putting that hit list for the mutants killers though that's some body counts 😥😥😥
"They've murdered so many of us. They've grown used to it." This sounds like what we as black ppl go through😢😢
For real
Exactly! We're just "those people"
Exactly be careful though. You might trigger other people who hate to hear the truth. Smh. Mutants = Black & Brown people
Mutants killing mutants?
Or
People killing people?
Or
White cops killing black people?
Terms like black on black crime exist because it is true.
Just like white on white crime is a term because it exists.
Which stat is higher? Does that number matter?
Black on black crime was created by white people?
I am pretty sure that both were created by their respective races, and the term was only spoken by "people" not created by a specific race.
You blame Detroit and gangs on white people, I blame it on people not going to the library as a hobby and instead forming gangs.
Not all white people like cops.
Mutants are the minority, not black people. Your ass isn't the minority in Africa and atrocities happen there as well.
Write some good comics instead of stewing in your own self created circle jerk blame game.

Finally a comic book content creator spoke the right words!
The slight commentary on Scarlet Witch being a pretender and her association with the Avengers really builds the case that the Fantastic 4 and the Avengers knew about Orchis and did nothing to stop it beforehand.
Pretty much. The Fantastic Four and the Avengers NEVER care about anything that happens to mutants... and they have mutants in their midst. Hell, the FF have a mutant son and pretend he isn't. Its a real commentary, intentional or otherwise, about how people treat their friends and family who are POC
Both of Franklin Richards sons go on to live in days of Future past time lines

Not since Claremont have I felt like this IS an X-men comic book. 👍
Blerd you the Main Man seen 3 different videos of the same comic from prominent TH-camrs they all miss something and you point out everything, and I mean everything.

18:05 Bro I got the same feeling while reading this👊🏽
Glad I wasn't the only one seeing it! Thank you!
That was the part where I actually started crying lol
This book is hitting me so hard because I know what it's like to be a mutant from just trying to live my life in America. There's 2 groups of people that go through the hate the mutants are going through & it's all mostly in America just like it is for the mutants.
1. People of Color
2. LGBTQ
I'm LGBTQ & in my state we cant adopt without going through Hell, denied housing, denied the ability to get married in a lot of venues & most churches & can lose our jobs just for not being straight & that's the "nicer" things that can happen to us.
We're harassed, beat up, assaulted & killed every damn day because we're not what the bible says is ok. So it's alright to abuse & murder people if your "Man-Written" book says it's so but for me to marry my partner & adopt children who need homes it isn't, WTF?I
The only thing that makes sense is this book & how it's moved those of us who aren't straight & white but has been harmed by those who are.
Very true but, not all are the allies we’d like them to be toward the eradication of injustice.
Wasn't it Cassandra Nova who had that 16.5 million mutants murdered on Genosha? And Charles Xavier ended up shooting that b*tch to death at the end? At least that's what I remembered when I read that story. I still have it here somewhere too.
Damn wolverine dead again he ain't been back that long( also cyclops)lol but damn it still got to me 😥
It was some serious ish going on here, but I'm here for it
Can't shed a tear when they are advertising the same people that just died in the issue will be back in those other stories
@@revolutionarydragon1123 true lol
Mystique def planted a flower so she could go back to krokoa after doing her part.
Frederick Ellis oh! Maybe this explains her getting “lost”
Great commentary. Definitely like how this arc is going, along with the parallels of real life. Reminiscent of Marvel in the 60s and 70s. Stan Lee would be proud.
Stan Lee is smiling big right now. This is his X-Men
God damn you wolverine and night crawler 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭I'm a grown ass man😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Bruh.... I said the same... Damn... THANG! I was in my feelings ALL DAY
@@BlerdWithoutFear u honour me with your comments
A review well done, I must admit bro that scene with Nightcrawler and Wolverine was deep...You covered this excellently...thanks
The twist will be it all leads to the new series starting with Moiras 11th life
Dawn of X will be a thing
I love what you said at the end, keep up the good job. Thank you.
Good point about what you said about nightcrawler and Jean grey. (I didn't even think of that)
Always love your commentaries!
Word
Thank you, Ali! I always feel like people are too afraid to speak up. If I can be the one to shine a light on it, I'll do it. I refuse to waste my platform. If I can shine a light on something, even if it doesn't directly affect me. I'll do it every time.
This episode and your speech got me Blerd. I'm now a subscriber.
Kurt attained GOAT status in this issue. And this was the best death Wolverine has and probably will ever get
Great commentary.
Great analogy. Social commentary worthy of Dave Chappelle.
Now Xavier and Magneto are going to unleash hell, and I can't wait.
15:12 i was hurting until i heard the term "ADVANCED BUCKSHOT" LOL the way you said it bro had me dying.
So happy I found this Channel! I’m a fan brother keep up the good work.

Thank you, Rufus! That means a lot! Glad you enjoyed the content! 😁
Blerd Without Fear no problem. Looking forward to your future content.
This also ties in various ideologies in Metal Gear Solid too.
Well written,
And ma man, great commentary i remember clocking your channel way before it hardly had any views and knew you will be the Steve Jobs of comic commentary.
I agree. She was in the habitat area of the Forge. She planted something.
He did do it, but he was a hair too late 😂😂😂 I think this is where the Pod Mutants from HoX #1 will come into play.
Dude I found your channel by mistake but I’m glad I did. You have a new fan bruh
I missed this when you posted.
But bro....
This is awesome af!!!
I got my copy, and maaaaaan!!!
Why didn't they just have Magneto use his powers to launch that whole base into the sun? He probably could've done it without any X-men dying
Probably. But then how entertaining would that have been... Zero conflict = Boring
@@BlerdWithoutFear fair enough
This chapter was a punch if the feels. O.G. Cyclops is back, which is nice because he's been getting shit treatment and I'm not even a Cyclops fan.
Did anyone else feel like they were watching a movie while reading? The pacing, the emotion and that sublime artwork gave the whole thing a cinematic feel. And the Mystique panel took me out!
Hickman is a fantastic writer. I'm surprised he doesn't write movie scripts. But yeah. Pour one out to Mystique
Unsubscribe? Bro, you been my absolute FAVORITE brotha since the Synch video!! Awesome commentary!
Thanks and keep up the great work!!
Nightcrawler got me again 😭
Effing awesome review! When you started talking about the real world implications of No More, i started tearing up. two thumbs up!
I subscribed because of the analogies that you pointed out. Fictional stories like this helps create empathy and understanding of marginalized populations and their realities. Keep up the good work!!!.
Thank you so much! I know some people can't take it, but sometimes you gotta shine a light on this stuff.

DEEP analysis Blerd! 👍
Had to to it! Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much!
You a real one for this video man 💯
I can't wait till see what Jonathan Hickman does with my favorite X-Men villain Mister sinister
I think he's about give Sinister a serious flex scene like Cyclops and Mags and Emma got
@@BlerdWithoutFear I would love to see mr. Sinister feed the reason why Onslaught comes out
as i read the last part what xavier says only one thing come to mind that saying " beware of the wrath of a peaceful man "
I like and deeply agree with bleed without fear on everything he says besides the comic book... but it all relates together
I'll take that 😁
My man! I loved this book and your commentary at the end is spot on.
This issue right here....is why I read comics! This is the point of change and passionate storytelling the X-men have been missing. Powerful stuff
You should have dropped everybody on that station from the start, would have saved us a lot of time"
Aliens had it right. Nuke the site from orbit... its the only way to be sure.
The allegory is so real, and I'm loving the fact that Hickman is getting back to the origins of my favorite comic book. Fuck you, fight me.
12:12 This scene between Nightcrawler and Wolverine was so heartbreaking and transcendent. I also teared up reading this issue. I got to say this story and what comes afterwards should be the Endgame of the X-Men MCU run.
This is the way our uncanny band of mutants should go out.
All i have to say about your commentary on this issue....
Thank you.
Standing ovation for this video my brother!!! Thank you for your honesty and being real with what this series is doing regarding commentary of what's going on today. #Salute #allheroesdontwearcapes
This house of x / powers of x is 🔥
This is the best the X-Men have been in decades
🤔 It would have helped to have *LEGION,* and *Deadpool* on that mission.
Would have... but the results would have been less satisfying from a narrative stand point
@@BlerdWithoutFear you know that team was sorta wac for this mission.
There are only 198 Mutants.
Do you know if Deadpool, or Legion are alive?
Bring sunspot lol
Great video as always !!! No lies detected✊🏾love this series
Thank you, James! Dude... this is for real my favorite series right now
One of the best storylines this year & the best X-Men storyline in years. Best get used to it.”🙅🏾♂️💯🔥
Jean is omega level, what the hell happened that she doesn't do anything, this is not good.
The only thing I can think about after reading this issue is the scene in The Godfather after Sonny is killed. Don Corleone just says "My boy...look how they massacred my boy..."
Dude... thats TOTALLY Charles right now
Also youre comparison to the mutants and the violence against minority groups...👏🏿. I immediately thought the same thing after reading the words "THOSE PEOPLE".
Thank you! I couldn't not speak on it. I was feeling for it
Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and all the X-Men went out like true heroes blerd! Love this issue and respect the X-Men.😊😁
That's why I think there's more going on behind the scenes.
I love that the story of mutants draw parellels to any and every margenlized community.
Great video bro, and I'm really enjoying both of these series. It really goes to show how good X-men can be when someone writes with purpose for these characters.
Thank you! This story has just been so amazing from the jump. You can tell Hickman "gets" these characters
I'm thinking the same thing
Blerd, You are exactly right when you bought up the comparison of the X-Men and the crimes within and on minorities as of late. It is a spot on representation of what's going on today. Kudos 👍👍... Videos always 🔥🔥🔥
I’m saying Mystique is gonna do some wild cowboy shit
Once again this story got me in my feelings 😥
This was a video game mission/social commentary/space horror movie/MCU "Infinity War" level cliffhanger all rolled into a comic book! Nightcrawler, M and Wolverine went out like real "G's!" I can't even talk about my man, Cyclops. And Jean..damn, Damn, DAMN!!!!!
Good breakdown, Blerb. I just gotta say, this is one of the best issues of the X-Men I have ever read.

And you are spot on to the relevant topics that are being addressed in this story as it applies to today.
This what set Marvel apart from DC back in the day.
And if anyone leaves the channel due to your speaking on it, then they weren't really down in the first place.
