On another note: PoX/HoX has really allowed me to see some people’s true selves. At first I was completely confused at the unease and outright fear that some TH-cam commentators were displaying. I didn’t understand why THEY couldn’t understand what Hickman was attempting to convey philosophically and why they took the stance Humans tend to take in X-Men comics instead of being supportive of the Mutants. Once I saw the patterns though, it’s when I realized that those who were consistently seeing villainy, fascism and evil in Prof X and Magneto’s actions have spent their whole life with a very narrow view of heroism and, in the real world they belong to a group that had not been historically persecuted and knew nothing what it was like. It revealed that their idea of a hero is someone who sacrifices themselves for others regardless of the harm it may do them or what those who hate their actions may think. While yes, that is part of being a hero on a very surface level, no hero, fictional or otherwise, can save someone else if they can’t save themselves. PoX/HoX has triggered a deep seeded fear among certain groups that there is a possibility that their perception of others may be flawed. They see danger where others just want safety. They see fascism where others want independence. They see villainy where others want progress. I appreciate Hickman for igniting this conversation and bringing opposing views on perception, persecution, oppression and hate to light. This is the true nuanced essence of X-Men that was lost on people who just saw them as “fun superheroes with powers.” I appreciate Blerd Without Fear for not being new to this X-Men life, but true to this X-Men life! 😎👍🏽
Do you see absolutely no correlations to a fascist government in the x-men right now? Do you think everyone who does see the X-Men as having done fascist things in the comics right now hates the story or is not a minority?
I can't agree with this enough. It's very revealing that some people were ok with mutants as long as they were a permanent underclass, but now that they've decided to take their destiny in their own hands, they see them as villains. I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to post your comment in my Facebook group, Black Geek Society, come join us!
Wilfredo Figueroa absolutely I see it because Hickman is intentionally writing it in that way. I also see it in the actions of the United States gaining it’s independence. I also see it in President Trumps divisive, chaotic rhetoric and how his supporters allow him to get away with it. As Prof X said, building a nation can be distasteful business. Every nation that has ever been built through history has the same general “DNA” as what is being displayed in HoX. From Kemet, to Rome, to the United States to the Nation of Islam. They all look like they are doing one thing, but the truth is they’re doing something else entirely. I see the Truth that Hickman is philosophically highlighting: that when any group who feels like they are persecuted, oppressed, hated and unwanted by an existing power structure decides to break away and do their own thing, they become a danger to that power structure. Sometimes they are dangerous in very real ways. Sometimes the danger is just fear. Incidentally: Please stop by TheKemetRising. Com “Where Creatives go to flourish.”

Sabretooth should have gotten probation. To be guilty of a crime AFTER you made it up is crazy. Especially when you have Apocalypse and Magneto on your council. Plus wasn't Sabretooth the reason they got out of that building in the 1st place? They did him wrong. You know they're gonna pay for that later.
I think Apocalypse is sitting to the side just contemplating. He's ancient and had seen empires rise and fall. He might be pondering how long Kratoa would last. Also, might just be thinking about his new place in this new world.
I definitely think its a combination of all of those. Hell, maybe even still sitting quietly proud that all this is even happening. That and he's probably wondering how long before his original Horsemen pull up.
The Sabertooth thing looked a tad fishy to me, but I get feeling that it will backfire on Chuck and co. Creed is gonna get out somehow and go on a bloodbath we haven't seen since the early 90s. As far as the sentiment behind Charlie's speech; I'm down with it. How many times have humans either stood by while Mutants were persecuted and/or killed, if not contributing to the genocide? There is only a number of times a persecuted peoples will just take it and "turn the other cheek" before (rightly) retaliating or actively obtaining a level of equality or equity in a system. And as far as all of the other "heroes" in the MU (especially the Avengers), they are complicit in humanity's negligence. Just look at how they treat Spidey (Parker) and Hulk (Banner). Also, Pimp Daddy Cyke in them celebration panels.
I voiced this on another video but......it does NOT make sense for the avengers(especially captain fuckin America) to not want to help mutants.im sorry it just smells like bad writing that they haven’t teamed up with them these many years
You know, a vast majority of the backlash from this series sounds like the people that scream "race baiter" whenever the prospect of an oppressed group has an actual chance at equity and/or equality. Basically, it's the "Uppity Negro" or in this case, the Uppity Mutie phenomenon taking place. In other words: lots of closeted bigots have been triggered by Hickman.
@@OrochiGeese7 , here, here. It's something to experience in real time, the progression of fear and rage when the playing board is flattened out...when equality is assured...IN A COMIC BOOK. Feige is a fool, if he doesn't adapt these stories. I think the final story will involve Moira's sixth life, which was a total mystery. Let's find out.
My prediction is when they start making X Men movies it will be some of the greatest pieces of cinema ever made, because the message has always been so powerful and poignant and all of us who grew up reading this stuff will see it now and see how it's true to the world and what's happening not just in this country but in the world.
Charles Lee, It’s too soon. This story is for that moment when all the movies have covered almost everything. All the wins, losses and failures of the heroes and villains. The movies should cover the hatred of mutants and senseless violence towards them. Then when we are all like, “ Damn, the X-Men never get a chance to shine.” That’s when we will get HoX and PoX. A new start with all the old things still intact. What’s insane is to thank that one X-Men movie, if done right, can take down Endgame in one fell swoop. It’s goons be insane. Again, “IF. DONE. RIGHT.”
Charles Lee You’re a fool if you think feige would adapt this storyline in the next 10 years. Even if he did, the mcu adaptation would resemble less than 12% of this god tier storyline. Just think of Civil War source material and its MCU counterpart.

Speak on it, Ernie! It took the movies for me to get into the X-Men comics. Once I did, I found I could relate to them in some ways. I read them from 2000 until 2009. I stopped, due to financial difficulties, and the stories just got more and more depressing. X- Men #1 (2021) brought me back. I feel I can relate to them even more now. Society's issues with tolerance have always been part of the X-Men. Those who complain can't, or don't want to see that. Only my opinion.

I watch the other youtubers who cover these stories and they cut out so much of the meat of this issue. I totally understand that editing has to be done, but it gives me hope when I see people like you actually focus on important things( Like the avengers and FF getting the message, what Charles' speech really meant, and how so many people dont seem to understand the social commentary in these stories). Three cheers for you, my friend!
I dunno what “usual” means. That said, I’ve been collecting Uncanny X-men since 1982 and it’s always been a running social commentary on racism. If someone didn’t get that, I um, dunno what to say. What forever changed the book was when Magneto took over as headmaster, maybe the last best arc with Claremont. That forced the industry to try and fill the void. Then when all else failed, put other mutants or X-men as the baddies. Heck, it became en vogue to turn Xavier into a douche bag. Then the whole Fox rights B.S. Basically Marvel lost focus. Hickman is putting them all back on track. My only criticism being it should have been one book 12-issues. Not two limited series, six apiece. Now that mutants established themselves as the biggest drug dealers since Pfizer, living in Krack house island (note facetious tone), I still think Xavier sporting an X-box on his head, STILL has a soft spot for the humans. He had Sinister map out the genome of every human being on the planet. Then he had Forge build five mega hard drives. That basically is going to play into the Phalanx making humanity and mutants immortal. I also keep thinking about one of the three laws: Kill no human. Wasn’t Sabertooth on a mission with Mystique to retrieve something important in House of X #1 If he killed humans, it was to get the job done. Wolverine also killed humans while trying to destroy the mothermold. Does that count? A lot of gray area with the 3 laws... But I’m loving every page.
1. You are seeing what you want to see. 2. You are not wrong, and more power to you for the good feels. 3. What I see is Hickman finally bringing the politics of the X-Men into the truth that algorithms and data are the real inevitability and they are silently co-opting resources as a sleeping world argues about the metaphors of comic books and the proper tariffs on basketball shoes. 4. In the chaos of a modern internet composed mostly of finger pointing, there is a certain comfort knowing it will all someday kneel before some clinically objective allocation calculators.
I think the final chair is really for namor...I say that mainly because he's one of the oldest mutants and also has a lot of pull plus in a time of war he would have a lot to say with the laws
Idea to run passed you, what if Charles has an brain aneurysm or something from the movie, "Logan" and kills everyone but maybe a handful. (I.e. every mutant that was brought back to life after, "Momma is the sun now."
Ernie, I loved what you said about social commentary. I figured that out when I was in elementary school. Stan Lee even said that was the point. Not sure what book these folks were reading. That having been said, I think it may be premature to say just WHAT the social commentary is, after all this is a Hickman book, so it is the first shot in a 3-5 year story line.
1.) The drugs are the way they are creating more mutants. Healed by Krakoa’s drugs and the mutant gene is activated in your bloodline. 2.) Krakoa feeds off mutant energy. They just fed Sabretooth to Krakoa. 3.) If they have 5 back ups for each mutant from different time periods….how do we know which back up is currently active?
Another gawd damn example of why Blerd Without Fear is the UNDISPUTED KING OF COMICS on TH-cam. From the editing to the script this video is hands down the best uploaded and I've watched the more popular guys vid. House of Flex is what it's going to be called from now on I don't care what anyone has to say. King keep doing the damn thing and making videos that mans like me from the hood can relate to. Plus Mothaphukin ULTRA!!!
The problem I have with the sentencing of Sabretooth is he did all that BEFORE the laws were made. Imagine what his vengeance is going to be, he was totally betrayed.

Xavier's address to the humans is what made this issue a banger for me. It is among my top 3 so far
I love the fact that Hickman provided an avenue to resurrect any number of fan favorites! Shout out to my boy Synch!
YES! I thought that was Synch! I’m so happy to have him back. He was the original Hope Summers
Ive been saying that since Hope came out. Killed my boy off and gave us another underutilized character until this arc
Erm and the Mimic wasn't the OG power mimic?
@@TheMimicmorph I call Synch the OG Hope because his ability was to not only mimic but to have mastery over the ability, usually doing feats that the original possessor couldn't even do. Like flying with Chamber's abilities or utilizing untapped telekinesis from Emma Frost.

I'm loving that Bishop was given a captainship
@@BlerdWithoutFear That's what I like about this series. It forces me to think.
@@BlerdWithoutFear immortality gives one a longer perspective on things
I voiced this on another video but......it does NOT make sense for the avengers(especially captain fuckin America) to not want to help mutants.im sorry it just smells like bad writing that they haven’t teamed up with them these many years
Oh they have man Uncanny Avengers, but it won't work because mutants and humans ain't the same.

Interesting, how a comic series about a historically marginalized people FINALLY coming into their power, brilliance, strength, ingenuity, decency, cleverness, and confidence, and OPENLY, ACTIVELY ENGAGING in these things, before the wide, fearful eyes of the oppressors to boot, sets very specific gears to GRIND. I've been blocked by TH-camrs (live stream discussions...specifically Thinking Critical) on account of my thoughts on this matter, particularly on account of certain people being easily upset by my refusal to patiently mollycoddle them as I speak very plain truths. Feige is a fool, if he doesn't adapt these stories.
I think the final story will involve Moira's sixth life, which was a total mystery. Let's find out.
My prediction is when they start making X Men movies it will be some of the greatest pieces of cinema ever made, because the message has always been so powerful and poignant and all of us who grew up reading this stuff will see it now and see how it's true to the world and what's happening not just in this country but in the world.
oh you better believe Disney is NOT gonna adapt these stories yet.
Charles Lee,
It’s too soon.
Again, “IF. DONE. RIGHT.”
Charles Lee
You’re a fool if you think feige would adapt this storyline in the next 10 years.
Even if he did, the mcu adaptation would resemble less than 12% of this god tier storyline. Just think of Civil War source material and its MCU counterpart.

A scifi always has depth to it. This action/SciFi definitely does too.
Synch is alive!!!
Skin and Synch were two of my fav x men ever, I am a big Gen X fan and Synch was the best
I think the final chair is really for namor...I say that mainly because he's one of the oldest mutants and also has a lot of pull plus in a time of war he would have a lot to say with the laws
Love seeing Charles and Erik working together
I think Apocalypse suspects something about Charles.

Your social commentary on this series is spot on! Keep speaking truth to power bruh!
Man, im glad someone else gets it.
All mutants by birth. But Sinister. Yeah, don't put that in your message.
Its the sinister clone with a mutant gene
1.) The drugs are the way they are creating more mutants. Healed by Krakoa’s drugs and the mutant gene is activated in your bloodline.
2.) Krakoa feeds off mutant energy. They just fed Sabretooth to Krakoa.
3.) If they have 5 back ups for each mutant from different time periods….how do we know which back up is currently active?
