Soon it will be pointless to connect the wii to the internet because some of the features have been discontinued like wii connect 24 that uses the forecast channel, news channel, Nintendo channel, check mii out channel and everybody votes channel that shut down on June 28th 2013. Online playing shut down on May 20th 2014 and soon the wii shop channel will shut down on January 30th 2019 and that is last feature that uses the internet.
