From the award-winning team behind Normal People, Conversations with Friends follows Frances (Alison Oliver), a 21 year old college student, as she navigates a series of relationships that force her to confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time. Also starring Joe Alwyn, Sasha Lane, and Jemima Kirke.
Conversations with Friends is produced by Element Pictures and will be available on Hulu in the United States and on BBC Three in the United Kingdom.

I just finished watching conversations with friends and honestly, normal people is much better and more fast paced! This was a bit too slow for me!
'Normal People' was top! It still is in my mind.
And when i saw 'Conversations with friends' for the first time i really had to get used to it because i'always had Marianne and Connell in my head.
But when i watched 'Conversations with friends' for the second time i found it also really good.
Maybe the two shows followed to soon the one after the other.
Because Joe and Allison played there roles also so beautiful.
To be honest they did an amazing job portraying the way that Sally Rooney’s characters speak. Her characters are the definition of AKWARD. They are adults who don’t know how to form proper sentences, let alone have a meaningful conversation.
Acting was very good and also the filmography was excellent

Cinematography is motion picture photography, also known as Direction of Photography. Cinematographers use tools such as lenses and lights to shape the overall look and "feel" of the image.
I don't think you get the point here. The characters did have meaningful conversations in their own way, they just couldn't express themselves like the way most people do. It might be awkward to you but in some sense, we can relate to these characters. It is not always easy to say the things that we want to say.

Cinematography refers to the way something is filmed, the way images look on the screen as a result of the way shots are framed, lit etc. Filmography is a list or catalogue of someone's work. For example, a list of all of Joe Alwyn's films would be his filmography.

After Normal People, I’m fairly certain that Conversations with Friends will soon earn its spot as being the most hellbent emotional series to be released on the big screen. I keep seeing Mr Joe Alwyn everywhere. I mean, it’s good to see that he’s finally getting some recognition as an actor somehow. Personally I’m not into polygamous relationships myself, considering the fact that it is and will later get complicated in the long run, however I still find it interesting how these people get so invested and tangled up in each other’s love affairs. It’s kinda like reading a journal entry, I suppose.
cheating is so common you have to wonder if monogamous relationships that last a lifetime are really the way we're meant to go. i don't mind polygamous relationship so long as both parties are honest about what and who they do

Took me 2 days to read this. I watched Normal People when it came out, and then I read that, and then I read Conversations with Friends and found that I liked Conversations with Friends more than than the novel Normal People. But I feel like I'll end up liking Normal People series better over this (maybe it's the resonating emotional impact it had on me at the time, and the way I perceived my love life), the trailers don't seem as captivating to me. But, at the time, Normal People didn't hook me with the trailers as well, and yet when it dropped on Hulu I binged it in one night and it absolutely broke me, so you never know. I also hope that this succeeds so we can get a series adaptation of Beautiful World, Where Are You.

I love films with this raw, real conversation between both people. I saw it with Marianne and Connell (they chose amazing actors for the leads in normal people) so I’ll be looking forward to this one. I have high expectations.

The only thing I’ve seen him in so far was a Christmas Carol. I didn’t even know about it just happened to flip through channels and found it, watched it cuz I loved the animated version so much, and then saw him and was like wow that’s Taylor’s boyfriend lol
Normal People was good but to me the romantic ups and downs were just tedious and immature and then came that incredibly frustrating ending. I absolutely adored Conversations With Friends because it was so nuanced and complex, can’t wait for this!

I've watched this and it was enough to make me want more from the author, it was ok. BUT I've watched normal people afterwards and all I can say is that every episode is exceptional, super intense chemistry. Way waaay better. If you like conversation with friends, you will absolutely adore normal people.

Preferred this to Normal People. Found NP super depressing. These guys are supposed to be awkward around each other and unable to express their feelings and it works. I've been reading this book for months now, every once in a while I pick it up, read a few chapters and then don't open it again for weeks 😅 but that's me struggling with concentrating on reading, not about the book specifically. Ohh Frances looks very different from how I pictured her in my head, where she looked more alternative/indie/interesting, with a cool fashion style, here she just looks plain. Has this happened to anyone else? Nick looks exactly how I thought he would, and his house too!
This is one of the most frustrating series I have encountered recently. Francis is so self involved and so annoying, I tried to watch it but I just physically can't. I read the book, the dialogues were poor just as they are in the series. If you want to watch something like Normal People, this is not even close.

@@AlmeGonzalez There's a part in the book where they talk about Frances' friend, Marianne, coming back from a trip to NYC. Would be nice to believe that it's the same Marianne meaning she went to visit Connell. Also, in the beginning of chapter 30, they mention they are celebrating Marianne's birthday in December. In Normal People, we see Marianne is out celebrating her birthday around Christmas and New Years.
