BB is one of the only tv shows that was fantastic from the very beginning till the very end -- It didnt run out of ideas and fade away -- I was so surprised that Bryan Cranston was such a fabulous actor -- I was only used to seeing him as the silly father (but funny and entertaining) on the kid show Malcom in the Middle -- Aaron Paul (Jessie Pinkman) does a really great job too -- I cant wait to watch with you too -- Its been awhile since I watched so Im in

Great reaction! This is a beyond well-written epic masterpiece drama that you both are truly going to enjoy!!! My only recommendation is having a moderator for your comments to avoid spoilers. Get ready for 5 seasons of jaw dropping, not knowing how things get to where they are going too!!! Suspense, great acting, amazing cinematography & music score for this series puts Breaking Bad into must see TV! Director Vince Gilligan created such an iconic series you both have just embarked on!
A really cool detail I never noticed until my third watch through of the series is MUCH later on - I think in either season 4 or 5 - when Walt is back in the desert again in the same spot where the series starts, you can see his pants are still laying there lol. He walks right by them at one point. It’s an easy to miss detail, but really cool that they thought of that.
Been following the channel for a while now, so this came as a great surprise. This is some of the best television we are ever gonna see in several levels, cinematography, acting, writing, and I am so happy to be here for this ride. Can't wait for both of your reactions to the entirety of the show!

I didn't watch this show for a long time. Then I moved to Albuquerque New Mexico (where it's filmed) It's heavily revered out here. It's a GREAT show. Keep it up. If you want a comedy, check out "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia"

a pilot is like a sample of a TV show. they don't make the entire first season. they film the pilot first and show it to the network(s) and then if they network execs like it they show it and if it does well then they make the remainder of the first season. many shows end with only the pilot. a lot of shows they change actors or writers or directors and sometimes the first season is made a year or two after the pilot was made. sometimes they don't show the pilot at all to be aired and only release it later on or just on the dvd.
Fun fact, the guy who plays Bogdan was actually a scientific consultant for the show. He is in real life a research chemist at Argonne National Laboratory.

I remember that everyone just couldn't shut up about this show and that it was the big deal at the time, and I refused to watch the show because I got so annoyed about everybody talking about it until I decided to finally give it a chance about two years ago, it isn't even the type of series I'd watch but man, I was hooked since the very fisrt episode and I just couldn't stop. It is weird that on his first day he kills two people. An omen. I got to be an extra in breaking bad before I ever saw it. On Albuquerque Craigslist they needed hundreds of beige, tan, taupe cars for two days for an episode. To make sure the cars stayed put they hired all the car owners to be extras 14 hours a day, but they only really needed a few people who were chosen at 5am. We were all stuck inside an abandoned Circuit City…it had a huge parking lot which is what they needed. Everyone sat around a big table and played cards all day - not me! I did get to see Hank, the DEA brother-in-law. He was so happy to be there working in a hit show. Sweetheart!

Of course every series finale usually does this, but this show does it all series long. Also, I HIGHLY recommend that you react to "Sopranos". It is a top 5 all-time TV show and most TV fans would agree. It is the "Godfather" (pun intended) of rooting for anti-heroes! This show started the cinematic TV experience, started "binge-watching", many people ordered HBO specifically for Sopranos (and I was one of them), and convinced the biggest stars in Hollywood that TV won't end a career, but take it to another level! There have been a lot of great and groundbreaking TV shows over the last 50+ years. Examples are GOT's, Breaking Bad, Ozark, The Office, Seinfeld, Friends, All in the Family, etc...and the Sopranos is the reason a lot of shows were made and have been so successful.
The pilot episode is what determines how the show is going to be received. They show it to an audience before putting it on TV, and see if people like it. It's called the premiere

In the store, it wasn't that he wanted time to think, by going the round about way he surprised the kid, in essence, ambushed him, going straight for the kid would have telegraphed his approach and put the kid on the defensive.
I like how at 8:02, Hank and Walt give the audience that little bit of exposition, talking about mixing it wrong and ending up with phosphine gas, which is related to the more well known mustard gas (diphosgene), both of which were used in WWI as a deadly form of chemical warfare with a high fatality rate and no known antidote. Also when Walt told Jesse he had exposed the two drug dealers to phosphine gas. If Walt had just done something that went Poof! and the two guys had gone down, it would look like a _deus ex machina,_ a flaw in the story that was 'too convenient', unlikely super chemist knocks out the bad guys. Because Walt would have known, but we would not. Priming the audience with that bit of Walt's technical knowledge lets us in on the fact that he has a weapon the criminals don't know about, so that when he uses it, we know immediately that part of the back story, making it more believable. Tremendous writing!
You two will definitely enjoy this show. The only downside is I'm going to have to wait for your next reactions instead of being able to binge watch them!

Well I'm watching all of your reactions for sure lol. Let me tell you something. Whatever people say about Breaking Bad... There's no hyperbole. People might actually be underselling it. This is the greatest show ever created, it's a bit slow revealing that it is absolutely amazing, but when it gets there you'll be greedy for the next episode and it's very good until the point it gets amazing anyway.
