I'd like an answer to this question as well cause I love the scania engines but to me there only downfall is that they don't have any jake brake (from all th previous videos I've listened to) but I'd like to get confirmation from the manufacturer if they have any with jake brake and if not, why the don't produce them with it
@@BillSikes. is there any way to make it a little louder cause I'm a young 24 year old guy who's from a small Caribbean country called jamaica and I'd love it join the trucking industry. In my country, the loud bangs of the jakes is very entertaining. We have some reckless drivers but all in all we're having fun while working. I like scanias very much so I want to import at least two but the jakes just too silent for me. I was planning to engine swap them but I don't want to get rid of that that sweet V8 sound
To me I think jake brake is more effective than exhaust brake. Just hear me out. The European trucks have exhaust brake, Retarder, cruse control and hill descent so to me, I think you can come to a complete stop without touching your brakes. As the American trucks have only jake brake and cruse control but it still slows down quite a bit with just the jakes.
@@BillSikes. I understand that. It's just that the EU trucks have a lot of brake assist which lead to my previous comments but I know that u still need the main brakes. I just love how the Jake's sound and I think it would be a good addition to the scania engines.

Scania have Exhaust Brakes and Retarders, an exhaust brake is basically the same as a Jake brakes, just quieter

You probably could by doing something with the exhaust, but I only drive them, a decent fitter could do it

American jake brake system is loud and not as effective

We still have to use the service brakes, especially when pulling 40 odd ton

No because diesel engines are already build to handle high stresses
