Since the MININOVA requires deep menu dives you wonder why didn't NOVATION create a MENU with a clear Table of Contents and several patch creation examples? There's almost zero info in the User Guide other than some feature charts. Doing patch edits & saves.using the crude oem system is a nightmare for a newbie. Do they just assume we know how to edit patches? B-T-W thanks for your well done demos, they should pay you for your effort..
I don’t know how these companies think ppl who are new to synths and menu diving units are supposed to get by, I’ve had guitar processors before that had patches and the like, but this is a whole other ballgame, for the most part ! As someone mentioned above/below, there’s nothing in the way if manuals or instructional value, it’s like a bad joke … Thanks again, OP ( @Vox Electronica ) for these vids, they’re lifesavers., as no one in my camp saw Covid coming, and we haven’t spare cash to get any other type of synth ! Instructional vids such as yours are indispensable, IMHO, thanks so much 🙏🏼
Definitely need more of these instructionals! Great job! And thanks for taking the time! Could you do a video where you explain the basics of synthesizers? What each wave/oscilator is/does, etc.? And if you could do an instructional on how to make reggae "ooka-waka' sounds and dubstep wobbles, that would be awesome! (Great job breaking that stuff down so that a newb like me can understand!)
Glad you found it useful! All great ideas! I've got other things taking my focus at the moment but I will get back to these videos in the near future. Explaining subtractive synthesis will be one of them.
Have Mininova for about few weeks. Try to understand this engine. It is very hard to recreate some sounds from other vst-s. How to get clear sound.Using two filters confusing me.Also lfo doesnt modulate sound like I expect , copying from a patches on different vst synths.Think " less is more" on the Mininova .But I love it , with a time must be better.Thank you for this video.
around 15:39 i thought someone was using the door knocker at my front door. got up and went downstairs and no one was there. came back up and rewound the video to get back in it and it was in the audio...
Im trying recreate the sound in the intro of Riding The Storm Out by REO. I cant get the pitch wheel to go high enough. Is the a way to edit the range of the pitch wheel?
You could try assigning the mod wheel to the pitch of the oscillators and crank the depth up to 64 or whatever you need. I don't know the sound you're after but you could also use one of the envelopes as a control source as well.
you have 200 plus factory preset sounds, and if you need more you can download them. You don't have to touch the menu to have lots of fun. there's a lot to do on the knobs on the front to make cool sounds

@@System-1541 Would be very cool! Looking forward to it!
Man, thank you so much. You're the best). Your videos are extremely useful!!!
Я рад, что было полезно для вас.
Love it. Next request: insane rave stabs.
Thank you so much for these, great stuff
Thanks for the videos! Would love to see a tutorial on how to create a patch for percussion, if that's possible.
Excellent idea for a tutorial! It definitely IS possible. I've been thinking of doing videos for that for sure.
@@System-1541 can't wait!

Too professional ) Does the voice sound like Nick Rhodes ) ?
Hey you make the best Mininova videos online, would you be open to doing a video on the vocoder in it?

I think this does to much as a beginner is there a synth where I don't need to
Be in the menu ?????
The Roland Gaia sh-01, Korg Minilogue, Behringer Pro 800 and Behringer Deepmind 6 are good options for a poly-synth in this price range.
